Cmon big agnus play the game, if your tent has a review like "it was built by the elves" surely it should have the correct amount of bloody pegs, some poor wee 16 year old guy/gal is getting dragged over the coals, first job and they fluffed it 😂 top review haze much love as always chief ❤🙏
I can confirm that three people will fit at a push,I got caught in a bad storm in the seirra nevada whilst hiking the pct that flattened and damaged my tent,a couple that saw my predicament had this shelter and let me sleep in it with them, abit awkward since I'd met them that second but you can defo fit three people in at a push 😅
Those elastic loops on the door holder, tie a bit of knotted small (2mm) line in the end of the elastic loop. Then you can get hold of it to pull over the toggle. I've done that on other tents, works a charm mate
Got the 2 person... what you said... just for me. Oceans of room! It has survived New Zealand - which is why I invested the ludicrous amount of money - for four months straight . Ok, I went to a motel during the cyclone, but it survived the storms. Nik Waxed it and off I went again. It has taken another battering at home, too and in France. The pegs are rubbish though and those tie-ups are too fiddly, you're right about that. I just scrunch and stuff! It is also tricky to put up in the wind and rain. I managed to put it up outer skin first and have taken it down inner tent first, but it's a pain. Nevertheless, I love it!
Ive no intention of buying a 3 man tent or bike packing so i came just for the bants (and to support Hazey of course) and left fully satisfied by elf talk.
I have the copper spur ul3. What I do for star gazing mode is set it up completely and then just unclip the head end and fold it over halfway. Really easy to pull it back and clip in case of rain.
Not for me that.... inner pitch 1st, lack of pegs, pole system seems flimsy for the size/profile of tent, I reckon those poles will break pretty easily in the British weather. And the price seems well over the top for what ya get m8. Good review tho and thanks for the fresh Sunday viewing material hazemeister
The tent has been bombproof for me. 3 seasons in Wales, you’ll be fine. If you’re short of a few pegs, let me know, I have hundreds of them! You’re welcome.
Great review! Absolutely spot on with all your comments 👏🏻 My Wife and I bought this exact tent early this year and love it! Used it for the West Highland Way in May and it was practically faultless. Plenty of room for the two of us on sleeping pads, our rucksacks stored out in the porch bit at one side and boots in the other one that we used as the front door. The fact it’s quite tall is great for getting changed and makes it a comfortable space to be in if you’re sheltering from the bad weather (you can sit upright!) It all packed down nicely into the bag and fit into the bottom compartment of my rucksack no problem. For the size & quality of the tent I’d say the weight is really reasonable. I’d agree that the only down side is the pegs. Firstly the lack of them like you said, but also that they’re quite short (saving weight I guess) and I’m not keen on them not having any sort of hook / curve on the top of them. If can’t get them in the ground at a shallow enough angle the guy line could slip off the top - plus the attached cord to pull the pegs out with feels like it might not last long if the peg is stuck in hard ground. Anyone considering this tent - Add some extra / better pegs and I’d 100% recommend getting it! Excited to plan the next trip in ours after watching this video 😁 cheers Haze! IG: @climbhighclub
im 55 my dad gave me his old tent made from cotton and had to spray it with a waterproof coating and it had wooden gide poles,, and it held the rain off ok until you touched it then we were soaked lol how things have come along 💦
Not over keen on these American tents. Don’t think they are really built for the British weather. Rain , condensation and wind. Also pitching when it’s raining would be a faff. There are really good British tents like terra nova where you can pitch with the inner already attached and wind and rain proof. Personal choice but I’ve been on that roundabout where I’ve had the MSRs etc and gone back to a good old Terra nova tent. Enjoyed the review though and horses for courses 😂
Great video and dialogue. I also love Big Agnes kit as it always seems so well made. As long as people recognise it’s a three season tent then it should be fine. On my own three season tent (not a Big A) I simply bought some heavy duty DAC poles and cut them to size to increase the robustness of the tent. 😊

I have loads of tent pegs to be honest, not sure why, I just keep finding tent pegs I like and they aren’t that expensive, are they? Enough now, I won’t buy anymore! Thanks for the vid, I’m enjoying your channel.
I'm SOLD! Thanks Hazy. We LOVE out CS2, but like you said, we struggle when we've both got airbeds. Those toggles on the door ties are annoying AF! Absolute nonsense - the Big Agnus is not an ultralight tent. What a joke. The tent weighs 3 pounds, 11 ounces and look at its' volume. My Dyneema floorless two person tent weighs a mere 6.24 ounces, 5 feet wide, 4.4 ft. wide at both ends of the 9 foot length, 3.74 feet high with a loop at the peak to hang the tent from above by about eight or more methods from above or a pole. Hanging it from above eliminates an pole(s). It fits in the palm of my hand. A floorless tent lower in weight, volume and you decide what type material and dimensions are suitable for the terrain and anticipated weather conditions. Additionally, you save the cost of the tent bottom and the waterproofing, The Big Agnus is sewn. My tents are constructed with glue, superior strength versus sewing or adhesive tape..

Fecking ridiculous price..
Found the gram weenie.
I'm sorry, mate. It's a good video, but it's a effing lots of work pitching that tent and is not worthy
