I think this dish would be good with a well-drained can of chopped tomatoes added in as well! You know okra and tomatoes and bacon are a match made in heaven!

This looks delicious. We did May Day and the maypole dance when I was in grade school in the 70s. It was always lots of fun and we’d dress up in our Sunday dress and wear our white gloves. I’d forgotten about that until I saw your video.

Fixed green beans for our Labor Day Celebration, which I prepared at my brother's house when we got there, so they would be fresh. Everyone watched me as I cut the bacon like you taught me. It was great fun to hear the comments and worked beautifully. Thank you.

I remember "May Day Celebrations" 🌸 My Grandmother made me a pettifor out of white organza, covered with silk flowers. We also wore a wreath of flowers in our hair. Our class did a dance on stage at school. Amazing, I still have our group photo from that Happy Day.❣️
