BOKOLISHA SOUP Recipe: A YORUBA SOUP That Is Loved By Many But Alsmost Forgotten

  • How To Cook Bokolisa Soup, Very Simple Recipe
    Ingredients
    3 tablespoons Bokolisha powder
    1/4 cup palm oil
    Beef
    Ponmo
    Dry fish
    Smoked fish
    Smoked prawns
    Ground pepper
    Ewedu (jute leaves)
    Beef stock
    Stock cubes
    Salt
    Water
    Mix Bokolisa powder with palm oil, mix till smooth and set aside
    Wash ewedu (jute leaves) and chop lightly, then set aside
    Add beef, ponmo and dry fish in a pot. Add water, stock cube, chopped onions and salt, cook till tender.
    Add smoked fish, smoked prawns, and ground pepper. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
    Now add ewedu, allow to boil for a minute. Then add Bokolisha and palm oil mix.
    Mix to combine and add water if need be. Cook for 2-3 minutes and it’s ready.
