Mmmmm, the soup is delicious, fantastic and great. 💯💯💯💯💯 my sister. You did a great job. Don't mind those who are talking rubbish but still come here to listen and learn. What is the meaning of them coming into this channel 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very similar to what we call afia efere. We don't use onions. Traditionally we burn a bit of the uyayak (aidan). We cook it with goat meat or chicken and always serve with pounded yam
In these areas I mentioned, ofensala is cooked using fresh fish ,dry fish goat meat or intestines of cow or goat. You can also use chicken. No Maggie. You can add little 'okpei' uzuza, cray fish pepper, pounded yam as thickener. Oil is optional. The fish or the meat you use plus crayfish & uzuza will give the soup all the sweetness or flavor you require. That is traditional ofe nsala. In some cases you use small bitter leaf instead of Uzuza.
Yummy and thanks for this light you shed. Looks really good and I’ll definitely will try it. Watching from Ireland Also pls your blender is amazing can I get a name pls?
One nsala with stockfish, onion s and seasoning?that's off the mark. The originators of ofensala (The riverine areas of Anamosa East and west ,Ogbaru, Oguta etc) will never use onions and stock fish for ofensala in this way.
@@meganokoye uziza is not bitter, it's feels hot in the mouth like pepper; so use very very small quantity. And use very small quantity of utazi. The magic there is, utazi reduces it large quantities of bitterness when added in soup, red oil or sorces.
@meganokoye6878 Here, when a woman gives birth, nsala is one of the omugwu soup. It's better eaten without swallow. She just use spoon to eat. With more uziza, no red pepper, and more utazi. Yet, it won't be bitter. There is another one called Saint-leaf soces ; that's the first thing she will eat after giving birth.
My problem here is that I’m Igbo, I know Uziza and ogiri but I’m currently in Akwa Ibom state and I don’t know the English name of Uziza and Ogiri so they can understand what I want. Please anyone know the name I can use here??

Can u use a cocoyam as thickner
Yes,even achi can be used. It's your choice
Nice one
Whats the blender name
What is the make of the blender, please?
So u don’t use oil ?
Onion and stock fish😮?
So delicious but we can use cocoyam
Yes, will coco yam be a good substitute in place of the yam used?
Look very yummy
Thank you 💕
U don't use onion in preparing nsala
I like the fact that oil is not added to the soup
Is there a particular type of yam for this meal or any type!? Cos my mom likes to use cocoyam
It's still okay to use cocoyam. Yam is most preferred for me though.
Beautiful

Onions isn’t used in Nsala.
Is optional
Personally I don't use onion for any soup apart from egusi where I use onion to roll the egusi with my grounding stone
Very true onions is not too good for it.
Good cooking
Didn't know onions is used in ofe nsala. I haven't tried it before
U can,its just a matter of choice dear😊
My own is what is the name of dat Ur pot type
Thanks ❤

Pls when you cook yours, omit what you want. It's her kitchen, you weren't served the meal
Lovely
Am watching from Abuja
Looks so delicious 😋😋😋
Thanks a lot 💕
💯
Nice one but the onion is no no no in nsala soup
What if I didn't have India fruit
It's Aidan fruit
Jam head is not used to cook nsala soup due to loups [mkpulu]. Onion will make the yams not to thicken the soup. And that's wrong.
Do you knw how to make nsala less bitter that uziza seed and utazi leaf are so bitter
@@meganokoye uziza is not bitter, it's feels hot in the mouth like pepper; so use very very small quantity. And use very small quantity of utazi. The magic there is, utazi reduces it large quantities of bitterness when added in soup, red oil or sorces.
