    New Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASBJ00242
    This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ ball joints on your 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty. Modern suspensions combine a number of moving parts for safe and stable handling. The ball joint is the crucial moving component that ties those parts together. The ball-in-socket joint can wear out and loosen over time. Or, the rubber protective boot can tear, allowing contaminants to seize the joint. Bad ball joints are a common failure point on vehicle inspections because they lead to unsafe driving conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to replace with the right know-how.

    I started working on this project the other day and was absolutely struggling (lack of videos for this make and model). You're video absolutely saved me from giving up! I couldn't fit the ball joint press on, and your recommendation to cut the thread off allowed me to complete the job. Super grateful, and the timing of the upload is impeccable. You rock!

    This was a good demonstration of how to remove the LBJ's on a Jeep Liberty KJ.

    I love this. None of this hardly applies if your working on the ground like most of us. I've also watched videos that don't require taking the knuckle off.

    Very good video. Mentioning the foot-pounds is very useful. I'll be repairing my ball joints with TRQ parts.

    You filled in the technical things like torque specs for me and procedure. I watched a do it still attached video and my ball joint remover kit wouldnt work and actually tried that way ended up putting back together temporarily. I was thinking on trying again and remove the whole knuckel for the space and cut the threaded part off so i could use the tool and here it is a video that confirmed the way I was thinking. thanks so much for this video i hate to send out and spend my money for things i can do.

    Mission done thanks again for the video just saved hundreds doing myself. One thing I would add. the ball joint tool end was kinda slipping off the cut ball joint, could just have been cut slightly angled. I put a small radiator hose clamp around the tool end tightened about half way on the end, made like a small edge and it kept the cut ball joint in place to push the old ball joint out. if that tip helps anyone.

    If ya don't want to remove the whole knuckle, how do you do this same procedure?

  • @andrewps84
    @andrewps84 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I did everything so far in the removal process but the upper ball joint is spinning to where I can’t get the bolt loose the rest of the way, so I’m going to cut it off carefully. Having an impact wrench is helpful too…not sure I’d want to do this job without it. Also you have the benefit of a lift; I’m working in a muddy, cold yard. P.S. my lower ball joint broke completely off the car.

    2006 Jeep Liberty has a taper on the axle side that will not allow any thing flat to take it out. Took 4 hours to remove it how the video shows and had to modify tools in order to do it.

    can these ball joints be greased when they start to make noise ?

    • @TRQ
      @TRQ  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      +@elicha12 Our ball joints are pre-greased and sealed for a long life and do not require the extra maintenance typically required by greaseable versions.

    It doesn't mention taking off the rubber boot from the new ball joint before pressing it in. That should be pointed out, if you look close it's obvious but I ruined the rubber boot pushing it through. Do u sell just the rubber boot?

    • @g..._anthony27
      @g..._anthony27 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. You don't take off the rubber.

      I pressed my thru. It didn't hurt the boot. Maybe yours was on an angle a part during the pressing portion of the job

      Same reason he bungeed the tie rod out of the way. It make the job easier.

  • @JoshuaFigueroa90
    @JoshuaFigueroa90 ปีที่แล้ว

    The castle nut and cotter pin was actually taken off of the tie rod not the ball joint. He put the wrong nut on the tie-rod BUT who cares…. It still works right!? Lol they’ll never know the difference anyway… as long as it’s tight and safe. Lol
