    I just bought the rode caster duo. Did a similar set up to you, but added rode unify to route my discord and music to separate channels. Nice video!

      How did you do this in unify?

    I know you can chose to control browser source volumes via OBS because I use that already, The issue I was having was my Streamdeck sounds were going through PC audio still. I was able to separate out my streamdeck sound buttons using the application source method, so thank you for that. You just have to leave Streamdeck's app running in background or minimized. Also I know the Browser Source option works for vanilla OBS too, so you don't have to have SE or SL. I got my new replacement DUO last night and unlike my first one, there is no hardware failure. Thank you so much for making an assume and easy to follow video! I did watch the new one, but since I have the DUO I lack the other channel to do the line in items, but that's okay.

    So not sure if you’ll see this. I have everything routed like you have and audio sources on both pcs set up. I am getting my mic to register in stream labs but I can’t get my game audio to register to streamlabs. I probably messed something up but figured I’d try this before tweaking anything else.

    I am trying to understand the usefulness of adding the discord audio source. Is there a way to separate out your discord chat audio from other discord peoples discord chat audio? Obviously you don't want your mic feeding back into OBS since you already have the microphone channel. Maybe I missed something in the first video? Also, Thanks for the tutorial. Helped me out a lot.

    • @ashy941

      The Discord Audio source is the OUTPUT from Discord which is the “other people’s chat audio.” It is not the same audio coming IN from your Mic/chat channel so there is no feedback or duplicate audio.
      Also, you don’t have to add the Discord source. You could just include it in the Main Mix if you want. The separate Discord source just gives you more control over the Discord volume level in your recordings/stream or you could even record it to a separate audio track if desired.

    For some reason all the sources keep playing through my mic/aux audio fader(microphone), do you know how to fix that? also thank you for the tutorial, its been helping a lot!

    • @ashy941

      Sources within OBS or sources in the RodeCaster?
      In OBS: File, Settings, Audio make sure your Mic/Aux Audio Device is set to Microphone (Rodecaster Pro II Chat)
      On the Rodecaster: Outputs, Routing, USB 1 Chat, Custom - make sure only your Microphone and (optionally) Smartpads are selected.
      In Windows Sound: Make sure your Input is set to Microphone RCP2 Chat NOT Microphone RCP2 Stereo. Make sure tour Output is set to Speakers RCP2 Main Stereo, NOT Speakers RCP2 Chat.

    I think I figured it out but most streamers want to separate the Music from the VOD track for copyright reasons.

    • @ashy941
      @ashy941  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well if you’re streaming it and the streaming service is recording your VoD then the music will be in there. If you’re recording the VoD yourself and uploading it afterward, yes, you can record the music on a separate track or not even on a track at all and then you can exclude it in the recording.

    • @freakynaughtylive
      @freakynaughtylive ปีที่แล้ว

      I@@ashy941 I have found that I have to dedicate the entire the entire (RODECaster Pro II Chat) to my music streaming service to separate it from the VOD track that posts to Twitch.

      @@ashy941 Is there a way to get music exclusively running in one track so we can disable it in the twitch VOD ? TY!

    • @rsknxzu
      @rsknxzu ปีที่แล้ว

      Update : I think there is a simple way to do it like I do with the GoXLR. Create a secondary audio track in OBS / Streamlabs for Twitch VOD and you just need to disable the Spotify / Amazon music or anything directly on this audio track. You then have music running on your headphones + stream and it is not recording on the Twitch VOD

    • @ashy941
      @ashy941  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rsknxzu I just checked the settings in OBS and when you are streaming to Twitch, yes…you can specify the VoD track separately. So for example you would put your music source on Track 2 and everything else on Track 1 and set track 1 as the Twitch VoD Track. I don’t see this option with any of the other streaming platforms.
      You just need to be using OBS v26.1 and higher.

    Also, I noticed you didn't mention anything about capture cards during the obs setup. When u added the game source, was it a video source from your cap card or is this an obs instance on your gaming pc? Sort of confused lol

    • @ashy941
      @ashy941  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t mention it because this is a video about audio setup for the RCP2😉. But yes, my game video source is through my Avermedia Live Gamer 4K capture card.

    • @TheTeflonDom
      @TheTeflonDom ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ashy941 Gotcha, that makes sense. Do you think its possible to set up the audio from your capture card to be handled with RCP2 (or in my case, the RC Duo 🙂), or do you think its better to handle that with something else. For example in my case, I have 2 elgato 4k60 Pro M.2 cards in my streaming PC (1 obviously to captrue my gaming PC, the other is for console capture). I have a Stream Deck + with the dials, so I can use that too. Thanks ahead of time for any input your willing to provide bro!

    • @ashy941
      @ashy941  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheTeflonDom You can pull audio from HDMI with and HDMI audio extractor but you need a stereo input to bring it into the RodeCaster. I could do this with the Pro2 but the Duo doesn’t have the extra line in inputs (unless you’re not using either of the two mic inputs)
      Have you thought about feeding Bluetooth audio from the console into the Duo?

    • @ashy941
      @ashy941  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bro, I tried hard to find a way to connect the PS5. I tried several Bluetooth adapters and even just plugging USB2 into the PS5. The USB works great for about 4 minutes and then turns to garbled shit for about a minute and then the cycle repeats.
      I asked Rode about it and their answer is that they only support PC, MacOS, Android, and IOS.
      Maybe that will change in a future firmware update, but for now unfortunately it’s a no-go.
