I honestly cant wait till the youtube algorithms to go in your favor... you are a godsend and i know ill get a quality video from you everytime.. if you havent already, you should partner with them and do tutorials on everything Rode.. just keep going my guy... the world will find you..
Such an awesome video - thanks for all the effort you’ve put in here :)
Constantly amazed that you don't have over 100k followers. Keep trucking along making content this unbelievably detailed, incredibly thorough, clean, and professional, and you'll get there. I have no doubt. Thanks so much for your hard work, man!
Bro you’re a legend! Didn’t even know this software existed from Rode but being able to run multiple channels in obs for streams is what I’ve been wanting the to do natively on the RCP2. This helps a lot
Wish I had found your channel sooner, but glad TH-cam popped you into my suggested, because wow your channel is great. Awesome video, and I am looking forward to watching more.
Awesome video. I learn so much from each one. It’s jam packed with content vs talking about nothing. And the video production is top notch. Thank you.
Thank you for such a great overview, specially the part about (possible) use of Unify with the RodeCasterPro..) ! Since I'm using either the RodeCasterPro II or another audio interface, I'm still not using the Unify, but I'm following the development with big ears! You've got us covered with your videos!! Cheers!
Thank you for such clear and concise videos! They're great!
Nice background and storytelling throughout. Well done.
amazing content ! this is crazy with the rode caster you can custom mix the entire thing as multi track to an individual digital output to separate applications omg! its possible other ways but its a huge hassle and this will allow lots of experiments fast to get some really unique setups going !
Good Day Mister Meister! You're one of the few content creators I know I'm going to get the straight Skinny with no Fluff. 😎😎👍🏽.
Absolutely amazing breakdown, subscribed!
Wow, I didn't know how much I could do with the equipment I have. THANK YOU, from a new subscriber!
Thank you for that video, I'm still waiting on the hardware for the Rodecaster to finally integrate properly with the Unify app so that I can pull across several feeds and assign them to sliders on the mixer properly and mix it on the mixer with sliders. It's the only thing that the GoXLR does better and the entire reason I haven't switched yet.
This guy is on a different level when it comes to audio. He should be at the AES Show (Javits Center)
I ditched my rodecaster 2 and now use the streamer x (Shure SM7B) with unify, a month or so ago it was still a bit buggy. But after the recent updates to unify and the streamer x it works seamless now. Fantastic video btw.
downsize is that Unify won´t run as an app on tablet. that make no sense for one PC even dual PC setup. And if Rode add VST plugin support that would be insane. So I stay with some other better solution. ^^
So I use the streamdeck plus with wavelink using a ssl2 audio interface. I absolutely love this setup for streaming.
I also have a RCP2 and love this as a option. I use vmix to stream so any vst's I use I could add them there. Thanks for the info!!! I love how smooth you deliver information. Something I need to work on.
Thank you! Possibilities are indeed endless, in fact you can route Wavelink's monitor mix out into Unify or have Unify feeding into one of the Wavelink USB channels. Or, just silently adding, that just as I've routed Unify's monitor output into the Rodecaster Duo, you can do the same with Wavelink... :)
I use elgato wavelink for dual pc setup. Love the VST plugins . rode has nothing similar and no even the streamer x can´t beat that combo. for normal use on single pc I use Presonus quarter in price same/better features. Best thing Presonus can be controlled via tablet like Ipad eg. Rode don´t.
The unify app works with the wireless rodes as well in the same way
Man, you're filling gaps in the *entire* internet with your videos. Fantastic! How does the 14 ms latency compare to the latency heard if you use beta firmware to connect a Rode USB mic into the USB port of a RCP-II and monitor the USB mic via the main RCP-II headphone output and *not* the headphone output on the USB mic? Also, with Unify, the RCP-2 can now receive nine microphones, right? Four via XLR, one via beta firmware into the USB input (a Rode USB mic) of the RCP-2 on the back, and another four Rode USB microphones into the PC's USB slots directly - correct?
Subbed!
Unrelated question.. any thoughts about the Mackie dlz firmware that enables NDI? For me it is the reason I will buy two dlz for two locations, to route between them with NDI
I am only streaming and recording TH-cam videos. I have the rodecaster duo but thinking it’s overkill for what I want and need . Is the wave xlr my better option .. or would the sm7b not sound as good with be a elgato
I feel like I’m on the edge of breakthrough when it comes down to multitrack. I spent hours trying to figure out how to separate audio in OBS but it’s basically impossible without 3rd party software. I had no clue about Unify but I run a dual PC setup to record. Ideally I would like to utilize multitrack in OBS with unify but I’m not sure how with a Dual Pc setup & Rode Duo. Help!
Hello, great video ! I have a Rodecaster Duo and a sm7b. So I can't use unify because the xlr isn't recognized? and there's the latency issue. I hope they'll make updates so that the logic is like that of the goxlr. In the meantime, can I use the rodecaster duo and wave link? do they work well?
yeah exactly .. My Rodecaster Pro and XLR Mic (Rode Podcaster) DO NOT SHOW UP. wtf?
Do you know if audio outputs (Browser Output, Chat Output, Music Output, maybe others) can be added in Wave Link as audio inputs and thus able to be controlled via Stream Deck Plus? Just would like to have easy access to the volume knobs and mute functions that is provided on the Stream Deck Plus.
Great video btw. Thanks
@@haies09 not that I’ve found. Really like the Rode Streamer X with Unify, but still no Stream Deck + integration/plugin. Fingers crossed 🤞
Super well done. I think your shutter speed is too high on your primary camera though. That's why it looks choppy. x 2 whatever your fps is.
So does that mean I can assign browser or game audio to specific faders on the pro 2 like the goxlr?
There are 2 ways you can do it.
1. On the RCP2/Duo you have 3 USB channels: the Main, the Chat (these are both on USB1) and the Secondary (USB2). You can plug both USB ports into the same computer, which means that if your apps allow it, you can assign these 3 USB channels to 3 different apps (on Windows it‘s easy, on Mac you may not be able to).
2. Alternatively, you can run Unify on your computer, assign different USB channels like game, browser, music, etc (up to 6) to different apps and the select RCP2 or Duo as the monitor output and then you will have all these routed into the console as a single input (but you can regulate them individually in Unify).
I love your content bro, the real question is how to connect your mic from the Rodecaster pro 2 like a Shure SM7B to the Unify Software. I think that is the last piece to the puzzle from my point of view. Thank you again for all the info!
Thanks! Well, for this you have the StreamerX 4k, but for the Rodecaster Series to work as an input source in Unify - that'S something Rode needs to introduce. (also for the AI-1 interface btw, so that you have a cheaper entry into Unify + XLR than the StreamerX and the Rodecasters)
@@PodcastMeister of course. However I think for the money we spent on the RC2 we should have been thought of during the software build of Unify.
We need Stream Deck support. Imagine being able to control Unify with the Stream Deck +
This is going to sound strange; do you have to have Rode Connect installed (to use drivers etc. or just Unify?) I connect mt PodUSB in and it doesn't seem to want to activate/switch/illuminate on the Unity! (I can recored, and hear the Rode USB mic in headphones).
Hi, I am not the best person to address this with as I have everything installed. :) Rode Connect, Rode Central, Unify, Wavelink, Tascam Podcast Editor, Shure Motiv, everything. Theoretically, Unify should work as a standalone software though, so you shouldn‘t need Rode Connect for drivers. It does help if you de-install other (older) Rode Connect Versions, and maybe try to reinstall Unify first.
Fair enough, I think maybe a deep uninstall could be the way forward and reinstall cheers for the video's as ever @@PodcastMeister
Has there been any Unify updates the last month? I want to buy the Rode XDM-100 but heard the software has many bugs. Thank you
Hi, the last update came yesterday, you can check them out here: update.rode.com/notes/unify/
Hello, will I be able to route all unify with a dual pc set up?
If you have the right hardware to route all audio into Unify (ie the RØDECaster Pro II or Duo, or the RØDE StreamerX) the yes, it will be able to handle the dual PC setup just fine.
Really nice video mate. One feedback: not sure if it’s only me, but you have a lot of Bass in your recording. My ear hurts a little when I listen to your video with an inear headphone.
Hi and thank you for the feedback! I‘ll take a look at my settings, hopefully I can improve on this.
so the podcaster pro 2 can't do this right?
Whatever I‘ve demoed here on the RØDECaster Duo you can do with the Pro II as well.
@@PodcastMeister can you please cite a Rode document that mentions ths?
wait does it work with my rodecaster duo?
@@PodcastMeister only if you use a rode usb mic i suppose?? SM7B does not integrate
and now in german please 😅
I don't understand how you have so few followers, your videos have the best explanation and your reviews are so detailed.
