Hey man, this tutorial has been fantastic but I'm having trouble getting my gaming PC audio into OBS on my streaming PC. I can hear everything perfectly fine in my headphones on both PC's, but I'm stumped. I followed the tutorial completely and even watched part 2 for OBS. I have every setting you've shown in routing, any ideas? Thanks again.
In OBS make sure the source for game audio is Audio INPUT Capture, Microphone (RCP2 Main Stereo). I’m guessing you used Audio OUTPUT Capture instead, maybe?
Let me know.
@@ashy941 I added the RCP2 Mix as an audio input capture and OBS isn't picking up any audio at all. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
My USB-1 has every input X'd out except for USB-2 in routing.
@@Nadeshot Are you seeing audio activity/levels on the on the USB2 fader?
@@ashy941 yes, USB-2 faders working perfectly when audio is playing on gaming PC.
Jesus the video I needed just in time for the install! Thank you for the straight forward setup for dual pc! Let’s hope all goes well!
Your 2 setup videos helped me soooooo much!!!! Literally helped me pull the trigger on purchasing the Duo. Thanks!
Got my Duo coming tomorrow and this guide is... *chefs kiss*
I have watched at least a dozen vids about this device, yours is hands down the best and the only one that explains in language that someone who is technically smart but audiologically dumb like me how to set this shit up. Been melting my brain for 2 days trying to figure out the audio on my new 2 box stream setup. Your vid convinced me this device does what I want and exactly how to make it work. Rhode owes you a sale commission my friend. Not just for this but for the midi tutorial which eliminates the tablet running touch portal from my desk since I can easily set up macros to switch scenes and mute audio channels with 1 button. You sir are a national treasure and a god among men. Thank you.
Just a quick follow up as I got everything set up and was able to do a test stream. It works flawlessly. I had to do some tweaking with noise reduction, compressor and noise gate filters (probably due to my cheap condenser mic) but other than that I am thrilled. Not only is my audio spot on, but the new second box I built for the stream is rock stable. And with streaming duties taken off my game box I can stream while playing Cyberpunk 2077 at 4k raytracing overdrive settings at 80fps. Been needing this since I built my new gaming rig in January. Thank you again.
this is a great video!!! im planning on grabbing the duo this month and now i feel more confident setting up a new mixer. im moving from the GOXLR and i feel like this was way easier to understand than when i was routing the GOXLR. Thank you for the work you did with this video.
This is amazing. Thanks for the guide geared towards gamers/streamers. Super grateful and I'm now sold on getting one!
This is the best Rodecaster setup video I've watched yet. Simple, easy to follow, and zero fluff. Nice work my dude!
Great video! Not only helped me properly set-up my setup, but also opened a whole new world of mixing to me. Absolutely underrated video.
Definitely a great vid. I'm using the streamer x, with rode unify, and I think you just solved my voice echo in some people's mics on call of duty. Also the simple explanation of routing just gave me a better understanding of what the heck is going on. Thank you for your time an effort on this video. I just started streaming and this was a great video.
Getting a RodeCaser Pro 2 very soon for 2 pc streaming/recording and this is the guide I have been struggling to find thank you for making this!!!!
The struggle is real! Glad to help 👍
Hey man! Thank you so much for this video, couldn't figured out how to use SM7B for both PCs and this helped so much! Thanks again
Hey there is no one that explains it in so much detail, but in very simplistic terms! You are a goat! God bless you sir, you def deserve million plus views!!!
Glad I could help!
Seriously one of the best tutorials!! You cover all the bases with out any fluff! I went to Audio Engineering school and I was still having trouble figuring this out. Albeit I have a Apollo interface where all my sound goes to then out to my monitors and IEMS/Headphones. But yeah man AMAZING job!
thank you for finally providing a damn good video to setup dual pc setup for the procasters. been a struggle to get it working efficiently :)
Hey I had to take the time to thank you for doing this. This made my entire setup a breeze. You went through everything step by step and I literally have a perfect audio setup now because of you. I liked, subbed, and I will always stay subbed no matter what because of how easy you made this for me. Thank you again!
Glad to help!
this is the video ive been waiting for.. Thank you so much
Thanks man! I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on the rodecaster duo. Have not seen any tutorial on youtube doing what you just did. Good work!!
Great video! Thank you. This is going to be so helpful for lots of folks trying to setup dual pc steaming. The audio set up is the most challenging aspect of setting up a dual pc stream setup. Unfortunately for me, I'm using two separate audio interfaces, and just finally figured out how to set it up. That was a headache. Great job!
The audio isn’t really complicated if you buy the right equipment it’s only complicated when you trying to use software to do it for free
Thinking of doing thisa for my WFH setup PC and gaming. Guide was amazing and laid everything out!
I've got a slightly different use case but I think what you have shown here will be very useful. I just wanted to say thanks for a very clear description - Much appreciated.
You got it…good luck!
Thanks for the video. Read through the comments and saw you mentioned to have the main mix as an input. Threw Main Stereo on Mic/Aux 2 and boom! Gaming PC Audio is coming through to OBS. Props brutha.
This is by far the best tutorial quick simple ans basic to get it working You got my sub
You're a God man. Thanks for the clear explanations, to the point, interesting delivery.
You are a godsend bro man, really appreciate your work on these videos! Subscribed.
100000% the best RodeCaster tutorial you are the man thank you so much I've been struggling for a couple days with this.
the real goat of the dual pc streaming rcp2 set ups much love and thanks for saving me from buying rogain from hair pulling out
Omg this could be the video i've been looking for!! Ill be back when im done trying this.
If this isn’t the one, one of my others might be 👍
this is literally exactly what i needed holy crap youre amazing
Brilliant video 👍
Yes sirrrrrr this guy is the guy just had to watch this once and It all worked !!
This helped a bunch, subscribed!
Didn't expect to se NADESHOT here🤣but yes, I had the same problem as well. Your 1st troubleshoot you gave Nadeshot worked for me👍🏼 audio input etc. THANKS‼️
Awesome setup video. I know a lot of people are wanting more virtual channels for better control, like those coming from GoXLR as myself. A workaround I did for separating my game chat from main mix was using my line out on gaming PC and plugging that into my 2nd RodeCaster input as a line in so I can control it separately in my mix. Hope they just update firmware and add more USB audio channel sources.
Nice! Thanks for commenting, I’m sure someone will find this helpful.
At a minimum, Rode could just add a USB2 Chat and they solve the problem you had to do with hardware. I hate having to run extra wires cuz it’s messy and noisy, even with ground loop isolators although viewers will never notice. I’m just weird that way LOL.
I think the challenge they’ll have is adding scrolling to the display for the additional virtual inputs but once they solve for that, the sky’s the limit.
Bruh. Right on , the perfect 2 pc set up for gaming and streaming step by step .. just like that. 👍.
Keeping thie video right next to me as im doing my first ever 2 pc set up this week. Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it 😂😂
Great video! 🎉❤
Piece of cake…you got this! 😂
@ashy941 dude I had my first dual pc stream last night & your tutorial was spot on. Had 0 issues. You're a life saver dude. I held back for so long but I'm glad I found your video. GG!
Just got mine last night and coming from an Elgato Wave XLR. Thank you for helping me to get things setup well on my Dual PC setup. Nice not running two audio cables from each computer to the other.
No problem. But don’t throw those cables away. Stay tuned for my next video coming this week where I show you how with those extra cables you can get complete control over your audio inputs and outputs while simplifying your OBS/Streamlabs audio config.
Have a weird issue@@ashy941 . For some reason with my DUO setup with my avermedia cap card, in OBS, it plays my cap card audio through the chat mic and I cannot figure out why. Have you seen this at all?
@@ashy941 The issue ended up being USB1 on the Rode DUO after 1 day stopped sending out Mic to either my stream PC or gaming one. So, sending back and have a new one coming tomorrow. Going to chalk it up as a faulty unit. I see my original post didn't take. I was getting cap card audio through chat mic and nothing for the mic.
I love you unconditionally for this video
If you like this one you’re going to LOVE the next one…keep an eye out or Subscribe - within the next day or two.
Im still having minor problems though and it's the in game chat on this rode Duo😭@@ashy941 & yea i gotcha

hey man! if I'm recording in obs on the gaming pc, I get the clean mic signal from your tutorial, right? one channel is just mic and the other one is game audio, so I can record them separately

@@ashy941 thank you very much! I thought I will have to use both rodecaster and my goxlr at the same time for that, but you saved me!
Cool video, buddy. Make an in-depth MIDI video, that would be great!
Already did!
you a god
Hi thx for the video idk if you showed how to add all the Chanel’s to OBS. That’s the problem I’m having I can’t add the RCP2 channel to obs I use the ASIO plugin for OBS but it doesn’t work. If you can tell me how you add you channel to obs. THX 🙏
Hmmm…not sure why it would be a problem but check out out Part 2 which shows how all of the audio sources are created in OBS from scratch: th-cam.com/video/5opSzVOdxkI/w-d-xo.html&feature=sharec
awesome guide! ive had the procaster 2 pro for almost a year and havnt used it due to my inability to figure out the routing until this video, so thank you a ton! lol
quick question though, if using this on a single pc setup, on the usb1 routing, would we only leave usb1 on and turn off usb2? if we only want game audio sent through the usb audio, and all voice audio through the chat routing?
Thanks
Best video I have seen so far. I just bought mine, no disrespect all video seen so far is rubbish
Best rubbish of all the rubbish?…I’ll take it! Some additional info in Part 2 if you need it: th-cam.com/video/5opSzVOdxkI/w-d-xo.html&feature=sharec
Hey! Watching this tutorial here. It's great until we get to the OBS settings. You show the mixer and the actual lines, but not what the Audio Settings are inside OBS. What Setting do I need to get my Gaming PC on my Streaming PC OBS? Is it a Microphone or Desktop Audio?
Hey back! Sorry, the video kind of assumes people were migrating from GoXLR and already have some familiarity with OBS so I didn’t get into how to actually set up OBS to stream. I got you…stay tuned.
Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/5opSzVOdxkI/w-d-xo.html
I'm sure it has it in there. But i was confused about the following: How is he getting his discord separate from his microphone(chat). he's using APPLICATION AUDIO CAPTUIRE(BETA) in obs/streamlabs to add discord audio. It's not routed separately in obs USING the rodecaster. the rest you can use audio input capture.
Great guide! thank you! I only have one problem. I can't control the audio level that is coming from the streaming pc with the physical fader assigned to USB 1. It only affects what I can hear in the monitor, but doesn't lower or increases the volume like the other faders (usb2 on the gaming pc or chat) What am I doing wrong?
Amazing video and breakdown but i have a question for you , a long one so im sorry in advanced
Im using a 2 pc setup also but my gaming pc is windows and my streaming pc is a mac.
I also record music on my MacBook using an Apogee Symphony audio interface into protools.
what is the best way to use the Apogee Symphony interface as my main audio source on the MacBook pro and at the same time feed that audio into the Rodecaster so that the stream can hear the music session as I hear it.
Or maybe there's a way to use both interfaces at the same time, idk
Id appreciate your help 🙏🏾
I don’t have experience with the Apogee or with Mac streaming so all I can do is speak in theory. What I THINK may be possible would be to use both interfaces tag the same time - I don’t see a reason why MacOS would have a problem with this.
Then, if you were ok with not using the RodeCaster chat channel for actual chat, you could feed The Apogee output into the RCP2 chat channel and then Send that back out the main mix
Alternatively, and easier would be if you have physical, analog outputs on the Apogee you could feed those into two of the mic/line inputs configured in stereo on the RCP2.
Thought about getting one of these because I have a GoXLR that will eventually stop being supported. Just based off the video, wouldn't it be easier to flip your diagram? Meaning by using gaming PC as 1 instead of 2, only one audio track would be going into obs? At least that is what I currently do on my goxlr...I do a bit different though. I use discord on gaming PC and music on streaming PC.
It’s not any easier or harder, just different. Configure it however works best for you!
Thank you !! do you leave the Audio section in settings disabled and bring everything in separately to control full audio for OBS ?
You have choices/flexibility in how to handle audio in OBS. This video is the simplest possible setup in Rodecaster but you have to configure more things in OBS. Alternatively, you can make the Rodecaster config more complex and simplify OBS. Check out my “Ultimate”. Video.
@@ashy941 I’m trying the single PC set up video now since that’s what I have .. I have the duo but I’m trying to follow as close as I can
Fantastic video! Thank you! I am considering picking up a RoadCaster to replace my GoXLR. One question I had is you have music on a dedicated input on OBS, how are you achieving that since I thought it was being routed on the PCAudio / RodeCaster Main Stereo? Are you using a virtual audio cable solution? I currently have music separated from my stream PC audio with my GoXLR in OBS so that I can check out other TH-cam links or something without sending it to the stream before deciding if I'll play it on stream to make sure it's not inappropriate. Thank you again!
Check out my other videos for how to make the RCP2 work like the GoXLR
@@ashy941 Thanks! That answered my question perfectly! Sorry I missed you had another video.
I have been waiting for this. I had to order an extra long usb c to c for my main to my stream pc. No longer do I have to set listen to elgato 4k60 pro. One other thing, can I use the usb 2 without my stream pc on, for when I don't want to stream?
Yes, stream PC doesn’t need to be on and you can still do everything else on the mixer and gaming PC.
Hello i don’t have loudness equalizer in my sound windows settings on my second pc (game - rodecaster pro 2 secondary) on Windows 11 but i have on Windows 10 thanks
did all of this it worked for a while but now no audio from my gaming is making it to my streaming and my streaming audio isnt coming out the fader its suppose too
Man thank you so so much for doing this. I have a question, what would i do if i wanted to do everything you listed out BUT have Discord on the Gaming PC and not the streaming PC. would this be possible with this setup? Thanks again!
This is awesome. Thanks mate. I have the GoXLR mini and will be changing to the RodeCaster Duo soon. My question is can you have a setting/preset where I can utilize all my usual audio I/O's (mic, game, Discord, Spotify etc.) without having to be running both my pc's when I'm not streaming and without having to physically change connections? My room can get quite hot with 2 pcs and 2 monitors, so if I don't need to have both on to game off stream I would prefer that. If I just want to game with friends off stream, I don't need to have 2 pc's running to use Discord etc.? I can have Discord and Spotify on my gaming pc for off stream stuff and also on the Streaming PC when I'm running Dual setup and maybe have some sort of preset that I can change depending on how many PCs are active. Hope that makes sense haha!
Yes, the configuration is stored on the device and power comes from an outlet, not either of the PCs. And yes, you can save different “shows” with different configuration settings, but you need a little memory card and it doesn’t come with one.
Awesome, thank you@@ashy941
So... you can't split music onto a physical fader? All the "stream PC audio" is bundled as a single channel with no way to separate say music from OBS alerts? Only option is to add those individually in OBS and manage their volume that way? I'm used to the GoXLR where you can separate apps onto faders
No, that’s not the only option. This video is the easy setup. You want the “not so easy” setup video 😉
th-cam.com/video/rn1g6wxG1WM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xFyA7llqnMCUU-23
Oh god, I have regrets hahaha@@ashy941 Thanks though, I'll go check it out now!
Great video, just a question. I normally want to run discord spotify etc on my game pc, because I also use these when not streaming too. So the question is, would it be possible to reverse it all, having the game pc as the main?
Yes, no problem.
i might get rode caster or elgato xlr they both do the same ? problem is how do it set this up with the elgto hd 60 pro mk2 4k and elgato wave 3 ? how too i setup my steel series nova pro wireless too this ? do i need too use wave link app ?
I don’t have experience with Elgato, can’t help with that. You’re also not using any wireless headset with this.
Hey, amazing tutorial.
Does this work with the first RodeCaster as well?
Sorry, I don’t know…no experience with it
Hm i am a bit confused. to see discord on my Rode i need to use Discord Output Device to Microphone too... so i can separate my discord completly from the PC Sound and can change the volume with the fader of discord.. or is my thinking wrong?
This video is the simplest possible setup. I thinking you’ll be interested in something more advanced here:

Hey man, i followed all of your routing settings and for whatever reason im getting this unwanted echo, i’ve resettled my RCP2 and tried re-configuring the routing however when i get rid of the echo, i can no longer pick up any audio to OBS on my streaming PC
Awesome explanation. I do have one question, how would I have discord and music (spotify) separate in SLOBS? Mine comes through as the stream PC desktop audio. TY for this video
Check out my other Dual PC video!
@@ashy941 So I followed everything and all works, but SLOBS is not showing input from the gaming PC... I can hear it through my headphones connected to the RODEcaster but it is not registering. Any ideas? everything else shows music, discord, mic, stream PC - TY for any help in advance
@@oneharry_og Join my discord and upload screenshots of your Rodecaster routing and OBS audio settings/configuration.
Thank you for this video. I'm considering buying the Rodecaster Duo but I came across some posts that claim the device has some latency to it's monitoring. Can you confirm this? I need my mic on my headphones and it needs to be zero latency otherwise it would drive me crazy. Is there any latency? And if so is there a workaround?
Direct monitoring my mic with headphones/speakers has no perceptible latency - Rodecaster Pro 2. My suggestion would be to try the device for yourself and if your experience is different/unacceptable, return it for refund.
Hi do I need to have both PCs turned on if I stream from the stream PC a console game ? Or do I need to have the game pc even if not used ON for all to run as you show
You don’t need the game pc on if you’re not streaming it.
Can you dedicate discord for example to slider 2, and so on similar to how you can on the goxlr ? (example': streaming pc: slider 2 discord, sldier 3, system audio, gaming pc : game audio slider 4)
As a matter of fact, yes you can! th-cam.com/video/rn1g6wxG1WM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_Ig6DmXxJs7QwF6G
Hi, question: How about using rodecaster pro2 to sent to process the mic with adobe audition then send back to rodecaster pro2 and final stream live to OBS or Sam broadcaster is possible to that? of course all that is live not recording, if it is possible can you make a video? I will appreciate really.
Thank you
Single PC?…definitely. Dual PC?…probably but a bit more involved with at least one analog connection.
Both possibilities assume that Audition can output to a specific computer sound device OR you use something like Voicemeter to do that.
Video?…not any time soon, sorry 😞
How are you getting Discord and your Music to show as different levels/inputs on the RC Duo? Does it expose multiple devices to windows that you've set those softwares to send to?
They are different sources in OBS, not on the Rodecaster.
I know this is for Dual Pc Streaming setup, however i changed my stuff around. I am going back to a Single PC Stream Setup, and was wondering if you could make a video describing how to set it up on a single pc
Your videos break it down nice and simple, compared to these other ones. Where they talk about useless stuff, yours are more than not straight to the point
does anyone else have the issue that the gaming pc doesent regognize rodecaster as usb 2?
great video... for some reason i cant get my gaming pc sound to show in obs! i have usb2 turned on for usb1. i gotta be dumb

hi for some reason my mic on my gaming pc sounds dank and I am unsure how to fix it. I have the shuresm7b and when I use it on my streaming pc it sounds amazing but when i hear or talk in my gaming pc it sounds super dank and loud. Can anyone please help?
NDI is starting to become popular .. wish the rode caster comes with an update to add it like the Mackie Creator DLZ interface that has NDI two pc music streaming pc to pc .. Any thoughts?
Im using ndi aswell only issue i have is i don’t hear discourd audio if i put the source on chat
Hey bro, how do you manage to use the rodecaater and still get spatial sound Dolby Atmos ? I'm trying to get the spatial sound to gaming like warzone and still be able to monitor the sound in the rodecaster. Thanks a lot
Ya gotta jump through some hoops. Check out ArtIsWar: th-cam.com/video/EZwgdLhS72Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fJyVMqWV8TAXLvMG
If I'm having a chill day and just want to game with friends or watch sports together, would I have to turn on my second PC JUST to be able to communicate? I dont want to have to turn on both just to be able to talk. Thats the most confusing part to me lol. AND since the streaming PC has USB 1 access now, i would lose the ability to control game volume with the fader right? Im puzzled.
Either run Discord on the gaming PC or on your mobile device and connect mobile device via Bluetooth on the Rodecaster.
The Rodecaster does not need USB1 to be active to control fader volumes.
Great video bro!! How can I make this work with 2 PC streaming using an HD60S+ capture card? I'm about to jump out a window! I haven't been able to figure it out! Any ideas?
Capture card handles video, Rodecaster handles audio. What’s the problem?
did i miss in here where you showed how to split music for the vod track?
No you didn’t miss it, it’s not in there. 😛
Check out my other videos for more complex configurations…this video is the simplest possible setup.
Sorry if this was explained, I’m an amateur at this audio stuff haha, would a device like this allow for 3 audio tracks in OBS (on the streaming/recording PC)? Such as 1 track for Game and system audio coming from the gaming PC, 1 track for my microphone, and 1 track for my friends in the discord, im looking for 3 seperare tracks so when I edit a video in, I can individually edit my discord call to be higher than the game or my microphone audio for example, this is something i can’t currently achieve on my GOXlr setup because I have to use the goxlr on my main PC (because I have a MacBook, as secondary PC. Long and possibly complicated questions, thanks.
I don’t have experience with this stuff on Mac, but I believe the answer is Yes, as long as you run Discord on the Mac. Even with this simple setup you already have two separate tracks, one for your mic and one for the game/main mix. If you add the Discord audio output source to OBS there’s your three tracks.
I have other more complicated setup videos with additional analog sources and routing scenarios you may want to check out as well.
The noise gate on the mic of the Rodecaster Pro 2 secondary is not being applied on the gamepc :( Hope u can help. ( it used to work. Something changed.)
Doesn’t really make sense. The noise gate is applied to the mic input, regardless of where it’s routed.
@@ashy941 I was the range setting in the noise gate. It was to low. needed to put in on 50 to edit out the keyboardsounds. thought tresshold was the only setting that needed to be adjusted. its not. ty for the video. i have cleaner settings now.
hello great video, only question is what source did you add your mic as? thanks
Microphone Pro2 Chat
Follow up, everything has been working great thanks to you! But now. only when I open obs, the audio from my streaming pc begins cracking. Not sure if you know what would cause this. Thanks
@ashy941 need help, the gaming pc audio is not routing at all to usb-1, i have the same settings as you showed us, having the exact same issue as @Nadeshot, even after powering off/on, downloading the ASIO drivers and doing the factory reset, its still not routing back to usb-1??
Join my discord, screenshot your Rodecaster output routing and OBS audio source settings.
Sorry if you've already answered this.
What if your headset runs through USB?
As an example I have Razer BlackShark V2 which has a Minijack that you plug into the USB dongle that comes along with it for surround sound.
I could of course get a 3.5mm jack to 6mm adapter and run stereo. But I do enjoy surround sound.
Would there be a way to get the same result with that or is that just straight into the gaming PC and miss out on some things/sounds in the setup?
Unfortunately there is no good way to connect USB headsets. Like you said, you’ll miss out on the features that the headset software provides and also won’t be able to use the mic on the headset.
That being said, you can get great surround sound using regular (non-USB) IEMs and other over ear headsets if you ever decide to make the switch.
@@ashy941 Thanks for answering! I did suspect there was no good solutions for USB headsets.
I'll have to look for the alternative when time comes.
Did everything, just having a minor issue, when recording or testing it out, the ingame (game) sound are so low, my mic and chat mic are okay, do you know how to fix it? Thanks in advance
Hard to say. Could be that you need to adjust the volume in a number of places: in-game, game pc main sound output, recording/streaming audio source output level. Also, check the gain level on USB2 if that’s what your gaming pc is coming in on.
I am having trouble discord can hear my gaming pc, also is there a way i can use discord on my gaming pc just used to how i had it when using the goxlr
