ACC | Go Go Go!!! My BEST Chance to Win 🥇 LFM GT3 @ Nürburgring

- Is THIS the race where I can finally get a long-overdue podium in Assetto Corsa Competitione on Low Fuel Motorsport? Is it the race where I can go one better and actually get that elusive first win?
Well I’ve never been closer to the front, so this could be the golden opportunity I’ve been waiting for. I’m less than 0.4 off pole position, and I’ll be starting from P7… over such a long lap like we’ve got here at the Nürburgring, to be so close to the driver on pole gives me real encouragement that this MIGHT be the day.
However, with three drivers right behind me all within 0.1, this is NOT going to be easy. Competition is always fierce in ACC LFM races, and this one will be no different. C’mon… let’s go for the win!!!

I'd watch Chris commentate grass growing.
🤣🤣🤣 I’ll keep that idea up my sleeve for this year’s Christmas special 🤣
Lol, I'd get Chris to commentate paint drying to make it exciting
I have said similar. He could narrate the phone book and make it feel intense. Will X beat Z, let's see. Lol.
Just watched one of your Clio races and your commentary is brilliant. It's as if I'm tuned in to BTCC on a Sunday morning, as it's so realistic....Great...👍
Thank you! That’s exactly the type of feel I’m aiming for with the presentation format 😃
You continue to be the gold standard of online motorsport. I am personally invested in your success now. Lewis Hamilton’s eighth and witnessing your first win may soon be on par.
Ahh Gavin, thank you. I really do hope I don’t keep you waiting too much longer for it! Cheers for that comment, really appreciate it mate.
Loving these races of yours, signed up to low fuel motorsport too, it's excellent!
Glad you enjoy watching them mate! And great to hear you’ve joined LFM too. Good luck with your progress!
Congrats Chris. The aecond race was a great performance. You are getting better, faster solidly.
Thank you mate, yeah definitely clear signs of good progress this week!
This channel is top, keep up the good work man..
Thank you mate, glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching 👍
Very good commentary! I enjoyed this
Thank you mate 😃
Good entertainment as always Chris. Shame about the first race but the second yielded a much better result. Thanks for the upload. :)
Thank you bud, yeah it’s getting EVER closer! Haha. Cheers
What a first corner 😳 Now watching the rest of the race, hope it stays just as good for you 🤞
Haha sadly I think I peaked there 🤣 race 2 was pretty solid and I was well happy with my pace overall
Welcome back buddy!
Well that was a race & a half wasn't it.
What can I say, however, I always enjoy sitting back watching you race 👏👏
Never a dull moment, huh? 🤣 it’s good to be back, driving the Lambo was really enjoyable too 👍
I raced her on a few tracks, loved it.
Great video again Chris and some entertaining races. It’s inspiring really. Well done.
Thank you mate, appreciate that 😃
Best racing on TH-cam excellent 👍
Ahh thank you Graham, good to hear from you mate
Great video chris, so close to the podium in the second race, but surely next time :).On a side note, have you ever thought about streaming ?
Thank you mate. Yes I have (and did try it a few times in the early days). At the moment, I don’t have a webcam - when I do the occasional face-to-video intro currently, I prop my iPhone up against the wall 🤣 so I’ve not really got a professional enough setup yet. But I am keen to try it again at some point when I can get some kit 👍
Two great races. Would love to of seen your battles with the Lambo in the second race.
All in all, Brilliant
The second race felt really intense at the time, but actually the clip in the video was the only time I actually got alongside him. For the rest of the time, I was always 0.3 to 0.6 behind… pretty much glued to his rear, but unable to get alongside. I was right on the limit, so it was crazy intense to race in, but looked a bit professional on replay 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing
Oh wow what a buzz!! Yea put it up, all that close driving would be great to watch, great to learn position etc
Good effort, Chris! The first race should have seen a better result. That spin in the hairpin was more the other two cars' fault than yours. You got tapped on the right which made you squirrely and then the tap from behind finished it. This goes to prove why I'm so leery about racing on LFM. Too many impatient and discourteous drivers. Everyone tries to win the race on the first lap. Short 20 minute sprints doesn't help the matter.
Second race was great! Top 5! Good to see some close racing with that Lambo. Sometimes a good battle for the whole race is better than lots of chaos like the first race. Even if you don't ever get the pass.
Yeah it’s ultra-aggressive in most races, particularly the opening laps. Nurburgring always seems to bring out the extra aggression too… probably because it’s so difficult to overtake there. Cheers!
Your format is so unique! Highly entertaining. Hopefully you like doing these as much as we love to watch.
Absolutely. The video-making started as a lockdown hobby to pass the time, and I enjoy it so much that I kept on doing it!
It'll come Chris, it'll come don't worry.
Is kinda crazy to see how much more aggressive people are on GT3 s, or maybe is an ACC thing? Being racing this last week in Nürburgring but the mx5, and I feel people is nowhere near as aggressive, I mean they still are but couple of notches less at least
Yeah, this combo always seems to be even more aggressive than normal in ACC. Its so difficult to pass slower cars, people have to be more forceful. I was pleased to survive, but very encouraged by the progress made. Thanks!
The best entertainment in sim racing 👍
You're getting there. Try to fight less battles, let them do their moves. If every battle has a 30% chance of ending in a crash, you want to minimize the amount of battles. Instead, go your pace, let the others crash themselves out and only pick battles at the end. Then you'll eventually be on top, keep at it, great video!
Thank you. Very good advice! 😃
Your ACC vids are making me wish VR was better implemented on this.
My LFM account doing nowt at the momemt 😢
Ahh yeah that’s a proper shame about VR. AC2 coming this year, I reckon that should (hopefully) be a lot better 🤞
Brilliant reactons at the start Chris!! love the video as usual
Thank you mate. I REALLY thought it was going to be my day when I got through that T1 carnage! 🤣
I'm pretty much convinced that your first LFM win is just around the corner, Chris! Your passion and perseverance will pay off sooner or later! I'm keeping my fingers crossed until it's done.. Keep fighting Chris 💯
Ahhh mate, once again that’s incredibly generous of you. I really appreciate it but honestly, you don’t have to keep doing it! It’ll cost you loads if you’re waiting for me to win a race 🤣🤣 seriously though, thank you - both for the gift, and the support ❤️
Top 5 and fastest BMW. Very nice!
Thanks, I hadn’t even clocked that I was best BMW! I guess it’s not the most nimble choice for a GT3. But I’m less likely to crash it on the kerbs 🤣
My my, there are some aggressive drivers in there. You did your best in the circumstances, congratulations. Improving all the time, a win is surely on the cards and written in the stars! Go Chris go!
Thanks Andy. Yeah GT3 + ACC + LFM = ultra aggression! Always rough out there. But definitely feels like I’m making good progress now 🤞
The first race was a real shame, worse than a Split 4 Mazda Cup server... But the second one was a good race, you're getting there!
Thank you mate, yeah it does feel like I’m within touching distance of some success! 🤞
Thanks for another thrilling video. Defending early is something I'm also working on. You just never know when the driver behind is going to get a bit too brave.
Yeah, this is exactly it. Often, by the time I realise I need to defend, I’ve left it too late to do it safely. With this incident, he’d already stuck his nose in the gap before I realised. My anticipation of what’s happening in front of me is getting much stronger now, but I need to work on anticipating what is happening behind too
Really unlucky in that first one. Great result in the second. In bottom split, if I get a top 5 by the end of the week, then I'm happy. Unfortunately, this is a track where you need to get your elbows out half the time if you're not going end up stuck behind slower cars like in the second race. You're way smoother than I am around here. Not been a great week for me. A much slippier track than RBR.
Yeah it’s incredibly slippery. And you’re right, it’s so difficult to get past slower cars. If I’d just got myself up a position or two higher after the start, I would definitely have had the pace to chase the leader. So near, and yet so far!
So close on the 1st race but we'll done on getting that result in race 2
Thank you mate!
Steneca knew what he was doing with that ram up the inside. "Oops sorry i hit you but i won't give you the position back"
Yeah, so I regret not closing the line off entering the corner. That would have solved the problem before it even began. But by leaving a bit of a gap on the inside, I opened myself up to that move. I made sure I left him space and stayed over to the left, but my opinion is always that it works two ways… if you’re making the pass, you should stay over to the right until you’re a car length ahead. Maybe difficult exiting that corner though, momentum is probably pulling the car to the outside kerb. But if you need to lift to avoid it, then that’s what I’d do. Perfect example is in race 2 when I try a move on the Lambo up the inside. I lift to avoid drifting out into his line, which costs me the overtake (but kept it safe). Cheers 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing yeah it's good you can clearly see where you can improve and not just pin it on the other guy. I reckon the pass wasn't really on for him and he just drifted across your line.
I like the videos. You had a good battle but many of those people should NOT be driving. Thanks for the content.
Yeah, it was a touch aggressive out there wasn’t it 🤣
That elusive podium and win is getting closer mate,as always brilliant commentary and content.
Thank you mate. Maybe I need to start tagging on behind the faster drivers in qualifying. My pace is always best when I’m chasing someone quick. At the moment I always wait for a clear track. Might try chasing someone, just to get a couple of positions higher on the grid. Could make the difference. Cheers!
Getting a tow in quali is what its all about mate not easy as everyone is looking for it.Good luck next time will look forward to it. @@chrisrogerssimracing
There's always one knob end on that corner.
🤣🤣
Two races in one!! You’re spoiling us now Chris. Great top 5 finish there, so unlucky in race 1. I’m enjoying The Nurburgring on Gran Turismo 7 this week, managed a P4 last night 😊. Great video once again Chris!!
Congrats! It’s a great track to drive, but very difficult to get past slower cars. Seems you need to show a certain level of aggression to get past.
@@chrisrogerssimracing You are spot on, though I am like you in that regard, I’d much rather surrender space than cause an incident. My P4 pales in comparison to your P5 mate, I own ACC too and I can’t get anywhere near top 20 on there, I’ll learn the ropes on GT7 for now 😂
You should organise a LFM CR Sim racing raid one day.... :)
Not a bad idea, that! 😃
"Yellow flags are out, I'm not quite close enough to make the pass anyway." - yeah, that's the proper simracer attitude 😁
I like your videos,
Thank you mate, glad you enjoy 😃
Super racing, unlucky Chris a great watch and commentry is brilliant keep going mate👍
My pleasure Tomo, thank you for watching 😃
I'm beginning to think we will have to hold a special race event just to celebrate your first win Chris 😂
Nice idea, mark a date in the 2029 calendar and I’ll do my best 😉
You can run higher pressures. I think 27.0 is now meta.
Might explain why I found it so slippery out there. Really struggled to find grip. I don’t really get any time to practice or tinker with setups, so I just try to get tyre pressures in the rough ballpark based on my qualifying data. Sometimes I’m a little bit out! 🤣 cheers
26.5-26.8 is the ideal.
@@lowfastracingAhh ok cool, well in that case I was fairly well spot on. Must have just been a slippery track!
This is what is said, but the pros are aiming for 27.0 lately. And I feel the car becomes more consistent with that. @@lowfastracing
Crap that turn 1 really gave me hope, but as usual someone had to punt u off 😢
Ahh mate I know, I guess it just wasn’t to be in this one. I really had the pace to challenge here… my outright pace was a tenth or two slower than the leader, but I can usually find that extra speed when I’m chasing someone. Hopefully I’ll get another opportunity soon!
With regards to your stated issue of not being defensive enough, the entire reason you were murdered early on is because you're giving space to people after already committing to your line in the corner. A lot of people will deliberately poke their nose up the inside to put you into a situation where you think if you don't give them your position, they'll punt you. Incredibly scummy, but those kinds of drivers end up murdering you on exit even if you DO give them your position anyway, so if it cones down to it, keep your line, most of the time they'll back out.
Yeah this is a really good point. In my earlier days, I was really bad for doing this… I was so scared of getting hit, I was literally terrified to defend at all. The amount of free places I used to give away was crazy. I am getting better at it, but I’m still a little over-cautious. My problem is… I only do one or two races a week, so if I crash out, that’s my week done. I don’t often get chance to run the same race 3-4 times or more. So when I’m in danger, I go into self-preservation mode. Which like you correctly say, doesn’t always work! Cheers man 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing Ah totally understandable. From the perspective of someone clearly missing their brake point, absolutely dive off your line, but most people unfortunately are more malicious than incompetent. Well, maybe they're both in lower rated lobbies.
Great commentary but the standards here are shocking. Your 99 SA deserves to race alongside better competition
Haha thank you mate, I try my best to keep myself clean of all the shenanigans around me 🤣
13:00
thats not on you. lambo drive gets in front of you and then hits the brakes immediately giving you really no time to react.
i really enjoy your videos but one thing i noticed you dont defend when the rear car is close.
Yeah, exactly this. I’ve come a long way on my anticipation skills for what’s happening in front of me, but now I need to improve them on what’s happening behind me. Often, when I realise I need to defend, it’s too late. It’s not a natural instinct of mine to defend.
@@chrisrogerssimracing
Looking forward into watching your sim journey!
