The guy crouching thinking the spell made him invisible had me in TEARS
Funny thing. Elden Ring is my brothers first fromsoft game and he also thought that when he dueled me, if he crouched he thought he would get sneak attacks on me.
I loved every second of it
skyrim mentality
It was beautiful hahaha
Ikr omg 😂 poor guy.
That Godskin Apostle cosplay was great, he even died sleeping like the real Godskin!
that was an apostle
@@BigHatLoganGaming I’ll edit it to the right one, but let history know I wasn’t a wise tarnished. Thanks!
This is the exact comment i was going to post
the "invisible" guy was great too, brilliant if he knew what he was doing, even more brilliant if he didn't. What a guy
@@GlazednConfused foul tarnished
Opponent: Does literally anything then dies.
Chase: Very fun fight.
One of the reasons I like watching Chase tbh. Skilled gameplay, and always positive vibes even when people are maidenless.
@@007massey i think you started watching him on elden ring.
@@Ahmed-ch4fl Wym? I've seen him back in DS3 as well.
@@007massey i mean he was a bit🤏 toxic from what i remember, still a positive man.
@@Ahmed-ch4fl He got a lot better in the last couple of years. I remember back when I first came across him, in 2018? I think? He was somewhat toxic, but around the start of COVID he seemed to calm down a lot. It really helped his content as now he is by far my favorite Soulsbornekiroring PvP content creator.
Funniest showcase yet. From the shocking instakills to the invisible wizard and the mimic veil counter-ambush it felt like a sketch show.
Im loving how pvp is so diverse in dues wish it could be the same in invasions
Lol yeah this one was very entertaining to watch
@@alexs1128 Idk when i duel i only fight against people with greatsword, powerstanced vykes spear and stitcher…
@@alexs1128 wdym?! it's great fun and diverse, only like 9/10 you invade has RoB... some of them even got moonveil for some extra spice
if you didn't know, the buff goes away if you get hit once, that includes phantom hits I believe so the weapon skill is pretty hard to maintain in pvp
I hope it is an unintended bug. It doesn't make sense for it to do this in pve. Where it is easier to get hit. Although it has gone unpatched since launch....
thought it was a bug with the first duel and the buff lasted 2 seconds
The buff lasts a while as long as you don't get hit, but since phantom hits occur a lot in PvP it's best to use the skill for its AoE effect rather than the buff. Despite the very slow speed it can be situationally useful for space control.
Seems like a bug, sleep is removed after hitting the opponent so maybe that got mixed up with the weapon status.
@@jeudeboel Actually it does make sense, if you're sleeping and get hit you'd wake up right? If you think at the weapon like it's asleep with the buff it makes sense, kinda xD
That was an “Emperor’s New Dress” moment with the “invisible” wizard lmao
I’m dying at the master of illusion fight. It was nice of you to play along
The funniest bit is, assuming its not just a meme, enough people have played along with it that dude still thinks it's a viable strategy.
Hopefully nobody bursts his bubble.
@@rainbowkrampus Dude just out there living his best invisible life.
I’m pretty sure I have also done this, I used all the spells he was using, I really liked death sorcerers and invisible ones cause they looked cool but in practice they’re not all as useful as I thought lmao, I also thought the invisibility sorcery would make you invisible
the final duel was amazing at the beginning, he was so wholesome and adorable, as he tried to sneak around the battle field. i absolutely loved that fight.
The invisible dude in the last duel is just priceless lol
It’s honestly insane how straight swords pretty much dominated the meta in DS3, and now I hardly see them whatsoever. It’s a pleasant change of pace.
We got weeb sword now
I feel like a lot of that has to do with the scale of this game. All the areas and your actual character even feel so much larger in this game so the short swords range feels extremely short.
They're still kinda meta. Not as much as smth like colossal pokes but still really strong, at least while powerstanced.
You probably have Moonveil and RoB to thank for that.
@@QwertyBoredom122 I honestly see RoB very rarely. Might be more of a host/cooperator thing cause I don't do a lot of invasions. When using Taunters Tongue or dueling I get very few RoB's.
ah yes, the "AUUUGH" sword...
Every time I see the effect proc the sound clip plays in my head
What's the name of the original sound effect/clip btw? I also have this ptsd and would like to know the source.
@@ogurihatshuharu8400 I tried and couldn't find the original, just an endless loop of reposts and memes, none of which clued me any further in to the true identity of the sound. I am forever blind.
Ah, it's a shame.
I like how the person who came closest to beating Chase in the duels thought he was invisible for half the fight
9:40 I feel sorry for the mage who didn't know that "unseen form" is pure garbage and doesn't hide you from anything (even in pve). Wish we could do a real assassin build like in DS1
It does hide you
A song as you haven’t aggroed it and aren’t in it’s personal space
Like the archers in Ordina
Their aggro range get cut in like half with crepus’s vial/black knife assassin gear+ unseen form
7:16 imagine just getting absolutely destroyed after buffing like this man
He is still contemplating what the fuck happened to this day
Kasten, Master of All Things Illusory surely knew full well that you could see him! He lulled you in to a false sense of security, playing in to your image of him as a fool, and then... BAM! He strikes! A Rotus Axe Ash of War+hit combo blindsides you for nigh-on 2000 damage! The luck of the 60 vigor build was with you today, but imagine the devastation this man brings to Moonveils and Rivers of Bloods everywhere...
Kidding aside, that was a very wholesome fight; you're out there bringing personality and soul to the PvP scene, and I appreciate you ChaseTheBro :)
now use the torch
That fight against Kasten literally had me laughing out loud
2:33 after you applied the buffs, somehow rolling through the swarm removed it. You can hear a hit sound from it.
Any hit removes the buff, including 'phantom' hits, apparently
so this is real weird but i just tested it and getting hit at all with the buff active removes it? guess phantom hits count too
@@smarthipan yeh phantom hits remove it just like how phantom hits also apply status build up
@@incendiary6243 That is… Bizarre.
It's an old effect to hear and see damage effects on a rolled hit, but affecting buffs on phantom hits ? What is this jank ?
U should try the morning star. Its pretty much a standard mace but its the only one that has running attack pokes. The crouching attack is also a poke. I been using it alot recently. Really fun for me
My go to strike weapon for crystalians and the like
Morning star slaps. Barbaric roar + axe talisman and thats it. True combo ftw
Doesn’t the Sceptre of the All-Knowing also have the running poke?
@@freakoutu1.618 yep!
@@freakoutu1.618 idk, I haven’t used it cuz i just made a mage and haven’t lvled int on my other builds
Loved the fight last duel, he realy thought he was invisible, also loved his mix of spells
I believe with the sleep swords, when you get hit (phantom hits count as well) the buff wears off almost instantly.
That was the case, and it was a bug, it is no longer the case
@@MamaTrixxieAsmrty, that’s good to know
Oh man the Duels in this one were really memorable. A lot of Wizarding Moments
Really like your vids dude, I like that you explain in detail about your weapon, build etc and the capabilities of the weapon whilst keeping it interesting and laid back and that you are always respectful and cool with the players you duel too! I certainly wanna try out more weapons after watching you
The dude that thought he was invisible had me laugh really hard :D
Ooooh i was actually very hyped for this one ! Been using this set up for for while now and it's a lot of fun. Glad to see it come so soon
Helphen's Steeple or Death Ritual Spear! Two really cool, unique weapons that you NEVER see. And I have faith you could make them look pretty sick even if it's not super competitive. Want to do a build with them and would love to see them in action first! Thanks again, keep up the awesome content.
Been using sleep bolts in my off hand with the pulley crossbow. With a buffed St Trina's or sleep grease on any main hand weapon the buff will impart onto the crossbow, stacking the sleep effect. It proccs so fast that the third bolt will actually knock them awake sometimes.
I fought someone who would just run away and spam sleep bolts while regenerating health. It was an oof when they pointed down
if it doesnt interfere with the build, you should try the ripple weapons, with S scaling in arcane and greases can be applied, they proc sleep really quickly with higher arcane, as the sleep scales with arcane when applied to a weapon which scales to it
That dude thinking he was invisible was incredible, had me creasing.
I was looking forward to this one. Great vid!
The invisible guy was fucking great lmao
Awesome videos so far, Chase. I'd love to see the Great Omenkiller Cleaver (or really any great axe) in your hands!
Also, that Wizard and the Castle Sol invasion back to back had me on the floor laughing.
That fight against the invisible crouching dude was insane! I had no idea where he was half the time, it seems kinda broken that the game has a spell where you can just turn completely invisible even in PvP. I'm honestly really impressed that you managed to guess where the invisible duelist was coming from, I would've just been swinging my weapon around at random, hoping to hit the guy. If he hadn't decided to go more aggro with different spells, you might've never found him. All around a really impressive fight 👏
Multiple boss fights in this one, wonderful vid Chase
I imagine having the Misericorde in your right hand on swap and once they go to sleep stab them for the sweet crit would be pretty devistating.
Oh dude, that was great! I actually did a bunch of duels with the sword of st. trina too. Super fun, but I wielded it one handed with a no skill shield for fun. Awesome showcase. Hoping for Helphen's Steeple
It’s always a joy when you get his new upload notification !
You should try the Ornamental Straight Sword.
It's one of the few paired weapons and it's weapon art actually changes its attacks along with buffing the weapons.
Nice I was waiting for the St. Cosby's showcase
It would be interesting if you made a tier list at the or half way through the showcases. Cheers, great content.
This was an awesome showcase, that last duel was so cool! 😆
I finished the game 2 months ago but im still watching your every video. Great player !
I used these swords on my Assassin build, minimal investment into stats faith and int for ST.Trinas + The Darkness incantation for aggro wipe + unseen form sorceries. Those matched with blackknife armour worked really well and has probably been my most fun PVE build to date of any darksouls games purely because of how drastically different the gameplay was.
You should look into trying out the darkness incantation in PVP, It creates a huge shadow cloud which can mask your characters animations so it can be great for mind gaming, I've managed to pull off hitting enemies with ashes of war from bows or with spells that would usually be very easy to dodge purely because they have to dodge based on sound. If anyone can figure out something cool to do with that incantation I'd put money on Chase.
I'd love to see the hawk axes that Nepheli uses. I've had good luck with them on quality type builds, and dual axes can put in work
Fun fact about jumping, it doesn't give s as most know but it does cancel hit detection on the lower portion of your body making it ideal for low or ground based attacks
Hey Chase, great video's man I am learning a lot. Can I suggest trying Wing of Astel next? Dual them maybe?
ChaseTheBro vid of the day makes my day
I'm really hoping to see the Giant Crusher showcase. Nice video btw.
Master Kasten fight was hilarious! That was nice of you to play along :). I like powerstanced straight swords moveset so much! What build would be great to use with 2 longswords?
Just so you know chase, you can run straight through the flies. How they work is that when they hit you, they detonate, creating an aoe of stagger and bleed build up. Which when you run straight through it doesn't activate fast enough to damage you or bleed you.
Ripple Axe or Ripple Halberd with sleep grease is very fun too. Especially since they get an S scaling in arcane. I'm doing a playthrough of that now and it's so much fun.
Never thought i would see Chase getting hit by Tibia summons lmao
this is the earliest ive been! I LOVE THIS SERIES CHASE HELL YEA BABEEYYYY!!
I'd love to see either bastard stars or marika's hammer :) good video!
lol there was a guy at the duel spot last night using the invisible ash and that spell made him almost invisible and untargetable so everything has to be free aimed was cool.
a good way to apply sleep is using the ripple weapons on an arcane build, as bleed, poison and sleep greases will scale with arcane if applied to a weapon which scales with arcane.
having 2 ripple halberds with sleep applies it quite fast
Yo Chase I think it would be really cool if you incorporated some kind of ranking system for each individual weapon. For example; 5 categories. 1. Moveset + roll catch potential 2. Damage potential 3. Ash of war (if somber) or the best ash of war for weapons you can change it & maybe a few other things if anyone can think of any. I just think each individual weapon ranked would be a cool addition to the series so we can compare
What would be the chances of you doing a weapon showcase on the envoy horns? because those three weapons are some of the most unique in the game and the envoys long horn is by far my favorite weapon in the game
I can tell before watching this that this is going to be a fun one!!
Edit: just wanted to give my thanks, as these videos have helped me a lot with building my own character. :)
I think the most interesting weapon I haven't seen yet used in this series is the humble Iron Cleaver. Its charged heavy runs forward as it charges and is incredibly fun to use, and its a common weapon so you can put whatever scaling and Ash of War you want on it. A Heavy Iron Cleaver is a perfect S scaling in Str.
Hey ChaseTheBro love the videos man! I look at Elden Ring completely different because of you bro! I’m really enjoying the game now!
Can we get a build and video where you only play defense?!
An interesting weapon I'd love to see if you do invasions with the basic dagger. A true test to see how much you can get out of one of Elden Rings weakest weapons.
Watched this video just before I went to sleep this evening... how appropriate😎
I’m having a lot of fun at present pairing the Sword of St Trina with a cold infused broadsword and mixing it up with sleep and freeze pots
I love this series but I really wish that you'd play with the 2hand moveset aswell when you dual wield a weapon, the dual wield moveset doesn't change unless you use a different weapon class and it only honestly gets stale when I face someone using 2 of [status effect] [highest AR weapon] in duels a million times
It seems like when you get hit with the buff on the sword, it gets removed.
Need a compilation of greatest battles. From invisible wizard to rolling goat man
something about ur videos is just damn entertaining!
My man Seth came in swinging and went out in a body bag goddamn 🫠
Chase I’m dying to see you use a whip, love the weapons showcases
9:28 the series’s strangest fight
Hey Chase, I’d really like to see you try out the dragon halberd. It’s become one of my favorite pvp weapons over the last few weeks. It would be interesting to see its potential in the hands of a real pro.
I'd like to see the Godslayer's Greatsword, it's kinda unique because it has the colossal sword moveset but with greatsword speed and damage
Would be cool to see highlander axe with a war cry/barbaric roar build (the skill increases AR by 10%, highlander axe increases that by 7%, and roar talisman increases that by 15%) I have a feeling it's probably not that great but it does sound neat
Man when those connect wow
Te fight vs invisible guy was adorable omg
This had to be one of my favorites
"invisible dude" made me dew'ed my keyboard 🤣
Lol poor Seth. “Uhhh… I did not expect all of those to land, I’m sorry Seth!” 🤣
I can’t wait for the Envoy's Long Horn Showcase!
I recommend trying out the dragon halberd the frost buildup with the ash of war buff is pretty fast
Gotta try out the Coded Sword powerstanced now!
Thanks for the best laugh I’ve had in a month spellsword Seth. Lmao!
I would love to see a sleep buildup straight into double handed Giant Crusher heavy attack!
I got something that could be fun to do, it's not a weapon showcase it's a Morgott build:
Right hand:
Morgott's Cursed Sword
Treespear
and Giant-crusher
Left hand:
Erdsteel Dagger
Short Sword
and A spear or something with Spectral Lance OR a Seal with Lightning Spear
Quick Items:
Fan daggers
and Regal Omen Bairn
Armor:
Fell Omen Cloak at least
Stats needed are:
Str 60
Dex 35
Fai 18
Arc 17
and if wanting as much Endurance as needed to not fat roll while wearing Great-Jar's Arsenal and Erdtree's Favor +2
but Morgott doesn't roll so if you want you can just have enough so that you aren't Overloaded
Tibia summons is honestly such an underrated sorcery for pvp, it does a solid amount of damage and it is great for trapping people into combos when they try to get to close.
Chase The "Very fun fight" Bro.
Dayum these are fast fights this sword is bonkers
Any sort of dagger showcase would be interesting to see. Not sure how well those work in PVP. Or heck, Fist Weapons?
The fight against the godskin cosplay was very accurate, they are very weak to sleep
9th day of asking for sacred relic sword :]
God i love your videos, the tips are so good and the fights are good see as well. You and Let Me Solo Her are the definition of true gamer for me.
sacred relic sword WA needs to be fixed and it is otherwise a regular greatsword
It’s kinda doodoo sorry
SRS is a shit pvp weap.
You tried the one eyed shield yet chase? I’ve surprised a few invaders with the weapon art using it with the lance.
gravitas x one eyed shield AoW swap
Ooo I’ll need to try that for sure
@@yesugeikhan6784 it was pretty fun when I tried it but it only works on panic rollers, and at certain distances
That shield is heck of fun. Ran naked with that shield in one hand and the Erdtree Greatshield in the other for the lulz and it's great fun. Bombard people with the One-Eyed shield and screw with mages with the Erdtree. Does pretty good damage if you just smack them with it too.
@@Elazul2k facts
Scepter of the all-knowing. we need to give chase a challenge guys.
I'm late but I'm here! Keep up the good work chase, still loving the series
is it normal to use the crimsonwhorl tear in duels? i thought healing type items were generally frowned upon in duels. wouldnt that just be the same as chugging a flask at low health?
Used this sword on my dual straight sword Caria Knight Build, alongside with my Crystal Sword.
Sleep mists gunna be interesting
7:30 big ooof good fight seth
Something I noticed and I think what was happening with those swords, is that if you are hit or take a phantom hit with the sleep buff applied, it removes it.
Use the storm caller axe next for ur next somber weapon it’s ash or war is excellent for trading
One type of weapons that i feel like it's much stronger compared to the ds counterpart are whips
Will you ever showcase a whip? Like the hoslow one or the urumi with the tricky charged r2
These swords are awesome but I'd like to see some of the whips man!
