Great yaw, combined with FA off turns, its difficult to be out maneuvered in it. One of the best for regular space and ground shennanigans for me... Its fun to have so many guns
A great ship for the now-rare Thargoid port invasion. Slap on a class 5 Experimental Weapons Stabilizer and you can have 6 AX weapons to play with on a Medium hull, plus AX fighters for a little extra DPS (they benefit from enhanced Xeno scanner, can target hearts)
The best pilots can tear other people apart with the FGS. If Frontier had built Odyssey to better integrate ships and ground combat, the FGS would be an incredible ground support ship.
nice, about time it got noticed. people say some similar stuff about conda, both super ships. i will say, if ships run away and u cant get them dead or they run, it is not the ship it is the pilot. npc's run from weak builds, it is the only reason they run. do you know what this ship can do with 6 rails and 1 LR mc, ? not one ship runs away, ever. its only drawback compared to conda is no ship has a hull like the conda.
I prefer small ships, or at least ships that handle like ones. Fas, Chieftain, Eagles, Adder... The list goes on. Gunship doesn't really handle like that, hence why I don't fly it.
It's a good ship but too easy to run away from. Also it does have a lot of hardpoints but you can't quite turn enough to get time on target, while the Krait can :) Actually even the Python (which has better shields) can do it better than the Gunship. The Federal trio are just outclassed ships unfortunately ;/

sry. no insult meant, the metric of weak build and npc's running away is what I have used to improve my ships, it is a very useful metric and is real.
