I underlined the advice on 2 second rule when engaged. It’s so easy to get ADS-locked on one target and lose all sense of the fight converging on you. I’ll try to develop the discipline to bail on a fight, a avoid target fixation. Love to see your content on game sense. ☠️
That was a very hard lesson for me to learn. I get so frustrated when someone lives with just a bit of health, but it's important to know when things aren't going your way anymore. Once I started really focusing on regrouping and repositioning it made a world of difference.
It became a bit of a problem when I started relying on Knucklehead radar to crutch on hard scoping, but I’ve long since stopped doing that and my game sense has drastically improved. I still have a long way to go.
Oh, that’s become part of my play style lol, I no scope and melee or quickscope and melee with my sniper as a substitute for shotgunning while getting the benefit of having the sniper. It often loses against real shotgunners, but with top tree dawnblade I can quickscope celestial fire for pretty good consistency.

We just not gonna mention how dope the editing on the intro was? 🙏🏻 love this man I've missed seeing the streams these vids are filling the Crucible doctor fix.
This is kinda basically the way all aggressive style players play if they have any game sense. If you can keep yourself moving at a good pace and somewhat anticipate your enemies movements based off of common lanes you can do exactly what this guys doing almost every match. Every map has common lanes and every map has an average playtime. Some require more calm long range fights while others require fast paced slide shotgunning.
Firstly, how do you only have 25K subs. Calm voice, no cockiness and easy to follow instructional videos. Secondly, I have started to incorporate this rule more and more in my game. Trying to position myself to better use my load-out. I primarily run sniper/side arm so I have been trying to rotate from lane to lane or just change my angle on a lane. I have already noticed a major improvement in my game. I am actually being able to carry some teams in freelance instead of just being an "also there" player. However, with this being said..... One of my biggest issues I am having right now though, is how to adjust on the fly when on a team with one or two weaker players and I start forcing myself to try to carry them. When I don't realize that I am carrying a team it seams seamless and easy. As soon as I realize I'm doing this though my game starts to falter. Is there any advise you can give to me for these situations?
I would say don't pay attention to the leaderboard. Now obviously you need to pay attention to what your teammates are doing so I would recommend watching some cammycakes videos. He is always paired with players inferior to him but it doesn't effect his attitude. Just be relaxed.
@@colterleasure6646 over the weekend I really took the time to breathe and relax between rounds (good or bad). It helped so much. I was actually able to get not forgotten on Monday.
this really taps into the concept of flow really well i think. once the 2 sec rule becomes second nature im sure everything just starts to melt away and 100% of your focus it pinned on the game. this is quite the interesting video keep it up. congrats on 30k subs
As somebody who's never had a problem with movement, I think it's important to realize that there is differences between console and pc in terms of pace. That's something console players will have to keep in mind when cross-play comes out next year.
This simple tip elevated my game playplay SO MUCH in the last one week it's unreal. It just allowed me to think about movement completely differently. More like this please!
Alot of people dont seem to realize how you have to always be at the right place at all times in crucible. I would say positioning might actually be the most important thing in this game
Thanks CD Nomad for these videos! Not only have they helped me become a better player but they have helped me deal with getting over “the Tilt”. With your videos, I was able to get NF and Legend rank within a week or so! Keep it up!!
i feel like ive always done this absentmindedly when i started to play pvp more towards the end of D1, i used to do raids then just play pvp at the end of them with the 6 of us and that would be the only pvp i ever did, around rise of iron i started playing pvp a lot more and not just for fun i wanted to start getting better as i felt ive done everything i could in pve. i finished d1 with only 9 or 10 flawless tickets but i only really cared enough to start trying at the end of ttk and start of roi, that carried over to D2 and to trials of the nine (5-7 tickets before i sort of gave up on the mode after getting all the gear) and into competitive, ive always moved around and never stayed somewhere for to long, i wont deny watching cammy and the likes play helped me understand there was more to pvp than just raw aim, movement, positioning, ect. i dont consider myself top tire no where close, if anything im a slightly above average player who can hold his own against upper tire players due to map knowledge and movement. season 3 getting claymore was one of the hardest things i had done pvp wise, matching against top tire players almost regually and still giving them a fight, i liked S3's mm, i learnt by my mistakes and my losses and i understood more that staying somewhere to long would result in a death or a gun fight im not ready for. i eventually got my claymore and met some people i still play with today while doing so. i play with a lot more confidence now even if i match players like frost or drew and so on, i dont dewell on the fact theyre better than i, ill play my game just like they play theirs and ill learn from any mistakes i make. i look forward to matching upper tire players now because i get that chancve to test myself against some bloody good players. i do feel like i impliment the 2 seconds now into my style of play without even realising it. and it helps. a lot. great videos man keep them up, ill be surprised if you read this comment but hey i can always hope

3:11 I wish I could say this was the case, but it isn't... I always somehow get teamed against triple flawless title's in FREELANCE, like please bungie dont do this to me..
Then just adjust play, a push for the enemy does not have to be direct, the easiest way to 1v3 isn't to take them directly, it is to run to a spot where you can make your best play, do damage, maybe get a kill and then move again. Toss grenades in to break them up, stuff like that. Instead of thinking in the moment, think ahead, know your map and tell yourself "I am going to run to this cover, take shots at them, and then escape in this direction" like actually tell yourself what you are doing in your head, make commentary for yourself.
Having the flawless title doesn't make you a good player, the number of flawlesses don't either, saying trials a lot, I can go against people with 100 or 200 who play terrible because their playstyle is too fast which gives them little time to think and they make mistakes, they split up and get picked off. Your gun skill, movement and positioning is what will get you somewhere in trials, get used to a load out and stick to it and use apps to help you find any godroll armour or weapons and work with what's meta
Such a good video! Really impressed by you not just listening to your viewers suggestions but implementing them so effectively. Your advice was clear - the examples were relevant and efficient. Your editing is always outstanding - top it all off with that accent and I'm a crucible doctor convert. A follow up on game sense and how it relates to movement / target acquisition would be awesome. Being more mobile is a good skill in and of itself - but without the game sense to decide where to move to it only goes so far. My worst games are when I get into auto-pilot, find red on my radar and engage it almost blindly. It's a hard habit to break.
Idk what to say....actually I do, bro this is my first video and you’re honestly smart, just a complement but it’s the truth like damn this was a great video
Would love that video you discussed at the end. This is the first crucible video I’ve seen that genuinely made me rethink how I’m playing the game outside of a meta gun, and I’ve been playing since beta D1
I’ve recently noticed that more I move around in matched the more defeats I get. After taking a long break from D2 I was rusty and was only averaging ~20 defeats and 1.XX KD. Then I began moving more and the differences were, like you said, night and day. After I saw the results I realized that none of the top-tier streamers I watch are in one place for more than a few seconds, even in slow-paced Trials they’re usually running around trying to get pings on radars and such. Great video as always.
Brother, the last video you made was actually very insightful. As someone that loves PvP, it’s always nice is get outside tips on how to improve. It could have been the map, the way people played, or just good luck, but I actually got last weeks KD from a 1.8 slightly up to the 2.1 just by changing lanes more frequently and playing smarter. So. Thank you man. 🤘🏼
6:43 applying the 2 second rule while in a gunfight! This is the big takeaway for me from thsi video. I often find myself in protracted fights where we are both dipping in and out of cover, and I am trying to work an angle, and he is weak, and I think I have the kill, and then I get killed by his teammate. IN hindsight I always see that I was over committed. But I think the simple huristic that I should get the kill in the 2 seconds, or just move on could save me from a number of unnecessary deaths. Thanks!
Hi Nomad. I am your average PvP player. And what you said in this video opened my eyes to an obvious truth about my game. I thought about the last few games in which I did really well and the overlaying factor was movement. Not being bogged down at the back of the map or waiting for the fight to come to me. Your idea about telling myself the 2 second rule will go right next to the 'Don't Get Yourself Killed' motto. I try to go into engagements with the mind set of not dying. That means if I am getting stomped then instead of continuing and probably dying, , I will strategically retreat, survive and re-engage. Thanks for the great video fella.
Your vids definitely helped me out bro. Before I used to just watch streamers. Now I analyze why they made the moves they made. Landing my shots is what I aimed for first and that’s easy but movement was what i lacked. Now I move more and do better. Still trying to move better. A long thank you bro.
Dead ass most helpful thing... I just finally started pc gaming like a week ago after wanting to for 15 years! This reminded me of destiny 1.. I used that rule on console and I did mediocre.. but I was never really into shooters on console. Watching this reminded me! And god damn I’ve fallen in love with shooters on pc! All of em! Been trying to get tlw and couldn’t get past 5% we’ll just today I’ve gone up to 75%! Thanks for the reminder! Subbed man!
This was such a helpful video. Today was my first time in this season and perhaps the addition of SBMM being removed was a big factor, but this has changed my game. I played all night focusing on 2 sec and moving and I had my best night ever.
I can directly attest to the validity of this. My first ever rumble win came in D1 by way of Cauldron in a game where I never even thought about the middle. I quite literally ran the outside circle, stopping only for gun fights. I was so excited, I saved the video and immediately rewatched it. Now...I knew my gun skill was lacking, but actually being able to view it out of the heat of battle, i realized "lacking" was actually quite generous of me. Atrocious would be much closer. But even with my inability to get consistent crits, my constant movement would see me to the win.
This has really made it clear how little i move when I'm in PvP and it's something I can work on now. Your content is great and your explanations are really detailed. Would love to see a video on Game Sense!
Not sure if you still read the comments here, but I'm very thankful for this video. Trying to get better at crucible myself and I'm taking a lot of notes from you.
Really great breakdown of this rule! I think I've been doing this for some time not even thinking about it. As I got more comfortable with moving around and disengaging fights, my efficiency has drastically improved, along with K/D and K/D+A
This video made me realize how good of a teacher Splatoon was for competitive shooters. The concept is one that I understood implicitly and never really thought about, and I'd attribute that to Splatoon's interesting movement system. Range is more limited than comparable weapon classes in other shooters, and your movement is limited when you don't have your ink on the ground. Coating turf in your ink is encouraged to constantly expand your options, so players move away from places they've inked in order to make their safe areas bigger, and make it easier to close the gap and get a good shot. The game is literally designed to push players into the center of the map regardless of game mode, and to establish escape routes since without them you'll never be able to play against your opponents range and get the better kill shot.
This video sums it up perfectly for any beginners or inexperienced players. You don't need to automatically be a "great player" to win any game at all, even against "better" opponents with higher stats/KD's. Just try to be a player who is confident in their own ability and as you learn and adapt to different play styles you'll also naturally grow in skill too. Eventually you'll begin to notice yourself making on the spot decisions almost effortlessly without over thinking at all and at that point you'll usually find yourself enjoying PvP more too and furthermore doing even better as you don't have to worry so much and you just play. Don't let losses bring your morale down either, anger is good to channel but don't let it consume you too and inevitably ruin your flow. Harness it and dominate your opposition, you'll find that you're able to almost predict the enemies movements, not always, some players are quite unpredictable but a lot of the time you can notice patterns and use it to your advantage depending on the map and gametype. Way too many players in PvP these days definitely hesitate too much and as Lucifer would say; "he who hesitates, disintegrates". (usually at the hand of my warlock) 😂
This really helps, i mean idk bout the 2 sec rules but what i have learned personally from those 1 sided matches(noobs vs high tier skilled players) is just you have to keep moving, if you stay in 1 spot they will just wreck you
I just stumbled across this video and didn’t realize this is the core part of my play style, I most likely developed this in D1 when I was mostly using scout rifles because moving around as you said lets you pick and choose your fights which is invaluable when using scouts, and slower firing weapons
This is a great way to start working on your fundamentals. Even though this video might not apply to me personally its still a great tool for explaining to other that ask "how do i get better" i often hate not having a straight answer or when i do im basically speaking a different language to people. Thanks for this vid dude. Def do one on Game sense. You have a great way of being able to simplify in what would be 30 minutes of me trying to find the words.
I've been playing a ton of crucible recently, and as a result tried tons of different weapons and play styles. Constant movement is one of the best things I tried. I also found controlling a part of the map, not just a small corner but half the entire thing. Did this in rumble and won match after match, I would keep an eye on the radar and sort of defend 'my territory' while still moving around the entire side of the map and keeping unpredictable.
I somewhat adapted this concept when you mentioned in in your previous video. Helped a lot with the recent seraph tower grind, even in general PVE running about. Thank you for this.
Great video! One small thing I wish you mentioned in this video is not to move excessively. It is important to change location, but don't sprint or jump into the middle of engagements; move with purpose. The player with the first trigger pull has an insane advantage (obviously). If you're sprinting, you aren't shooting.
I think for most people who play fps games this applies for some if not most competitive shooter games, it's nice to see a video being made about it The difference between a good player and a bad player is the movement! :D
This is something players like myself had to develop subconsciously after years of playing especially in D1. This will undoubtedly help newer players adapt to the absolutely mental game play seen by us vets.
Now that I think about it, streamers use this rule ALOT. They are never in the same position or general area for long and its either push or don't push, Flush them out or circle around their cover. I've been taking this advice and I feel like I've improved immensely. Thanks Doc
I heard "two second rule" and thought it was going to be a video going over stuff like "if your weapon/damage output doesn't kill in 2 seconds or less, you are dead." this is just as helpful though, thank you! I had a tendency to sit and wait for... 15-30 to try and keep people away from certain areas, but my k/d has been on the rise as of late when using a sniper rife for the first time paired with a good pulse rifle. movement helps a lot more than the 'sit n play it safe' idea i had
I just started a couple weeks ago, and has been playing crucible for a week now and I’ve noticed that when moving frequently, I became more alert. I can quickly swipe, aim and shoot much quicker than just staying still and running in a straight line. Its like adrenaline kicks in, especially in a tight space map, thats where the shot gun and melee comes in. Where in a normal situation, I would miss like 60% of my hand canon shots.
We need a study on what's best for eye hand coordination and in game aim. After a certain amount of hours I've reached a plateau for sure. My sniping is the biggest improvement ive seen and that's bc I never use to trust myself.
I actually just randomly started doing this. Not to a specific second but limiting the amount of stationary moments and ive started popping off. Oddly convenient this video just happened to show up but this gave me a more in depth look at the idea and I feel like it'll help tremendously
hey i know this is a older video but this video was amazingingly useful, im a veteran player whos been playing bubble since D1. Ive always ended up playing super defensensivly and always pinned why i wasing doing well or getting kills due to my positioning. but after implementing this ive started to notice my average kills go from about 12-18 per match back to 25-30 which was my old average. Thanks you so much teaching this has massively improved my duel to duel decision making, and over all has made crucible that much more enjoyable for me!!
I sorta adopted the 2 second rule on my own without even knowing the 2 second rule, just teaching myself to never stay on one angle for too long, and it made so much of a difference. The mentality helps out so much in encounters
Quality of the video is great, voice is great, and the lesson taught was taught well and I feel could have a real impact. You just gained a sub from me my good ser.
I've been doing this with games like Modern Warfare or c's go for years. It really is a great train of thought to get in, keeps everything fast paced and trains quick problem solving. Makes great replayability in the long run
I keep telling my friends to be quicker and move more glad i found this vid to show them great reasoning and soild explanations on when and when not to move
Great video I notice this alot matching against unbroken players. Faster movement has answered the questions of why other players were getting better angles. Better the lobby the faster the rotation of players. Thanks again.
Awesome vid man. I have always been middle of the road as far as crucible goes, and even though I feel like I've come a long way it's insight like this that helps me(and ppl who generally want to be better at pvp) become better players. So thanks a million for your time and input.
When I was playing Titanfall 2 PVP back then, if I stayed still for just a moment, even just a second or two, someone would definitely be able to kill me. So I learned to always be on the move and kill targets are fast as possible, almost like hit and run. I applied this on Destiny 2 when I started playing on New Light and found it to be super effective as well. Also why I don't like allies who camp somewhere with a sniper rifle, whenever I see someone doing that on my side... 9 times out of 10, we would lose that match...Hope more people know about this for a better crucible experience, both in my own playstyle and others! thanks man, super informative! Hope you got more crucible medz for us, crucible doctor :)
Yes I didn't think to much about it but I started counting to 3 every time I ads and the flow improved, I guess it's time to improve on it. Great video
I'm really happy you did this! I literally have not played PvP in a few days which is long for me as I have played for the last 7 years not everyday lol 🙄. This is some thing I have done to a point, but knowing all this just inspired me to get back in & hone my skills a bit more. Needless to say great content!
Ive been doin this for the last couple of days, and FOR SURE ive improved, pair that with the last word and bottom tree void walker, i can do whatever i want. THANK YOU,i heard this in your video last week, i since then i tried it
Wow this actually helped me improve a lot. I already move around a lot but actually setting a rule for myself to not stay in one spot for longer than a certain time period made me more consistent. I played a few games with this "rule". im not sure if my opponents were just bad but playing did feel better and more smooth. Thanks for the tips :)
Holy crap I tried this out mid-match and damn did I notice a quick and huge difference,I have a super aggressive playstyle so this helps out so much thank you man!
This was something i heard vaguely about in a sniping vid a while back. I began training this with my twilight oath since box breathing takes 2sec to activate i know i was hard scoping and would unscope and move. But this takes it to a broader use that i really like. Cheers!
Another great video. Thanks man. As you asked. I would love to see a video from you on game sense, also. While the 2-second rule is fairly self explanatory, game sense is a bit more intangible and I found your comment about how game sense relates to target acquisition to be intriguing. I always enjoy watching your videos. They are well thought, well edited, and you have a great voice for narration. Please keep up the great work. Looking forward to it.
thank you. this is what I needed to hear and you explain it very well. I will agree that movement is the main thing preventing me from moving up in skill. still many others to work on but you made the point very well.
One thing I’ve noticed is that when I watch these kinds of videos or montage videos of people destroying others, I become significantly better in the crucible. This also applies to real life for me. When I watch someone do something for a while, I’m able to visualize what that person would do while I’m doing it.
Please tell me your job is a salesman, with your voice you could sell me anything lol it's a major plus for me tbh, you give good advice but it's very clear, concise and at a manageable pace, have not long found your channel, am now gonna binge watch, keep up the great work 👍
Thank you for this, my KDA has been floating around 1.2-1.3 since I got back into the game last couple of weeks with some friends. I knew I was missing something, but couldn't figure it out, seeing how I'm coming back from R6. AKA corner camping heaven
Just tried this out, now I haven't jumped into the crucible in months, got thrashed around and lost 20-80, okay that's just a warm up. Next game I tried it again, was dying a bit caus emy aim was sloppy, no worried I pull out an explosive payload handcannon, and suddenly I was in business. I felt like I was just running away, but I kept finding fights they weren't prepared for and I did scarily well for myself. I'm only good enough to consistently get into fabled 1 maybe 2 in comp so me getting 37 kills with a 3.7 efficiency while using Beloved and a Spare Rations probably isn't all that impressive, but the night and day difference it made for me was wonderful. Thank you so much for this trick cause it will not be leaving my crucible toolbox.
Saw this on a Reddit post, great thing to know is that someone is making stuff like this so i can help my fellow guardians explain how to be better at pvp

The answer is in your comment. Relax. Take it easy. Play your style. Let the universe take care of the rest.
I still find it hard to realize that a lot of PC players rush forward when they have mind benders or felwinters. Especially now with stasis
Will they really crossplay pc and console in crucible?
@@KC-Shinobi its opt in
This simple tip elevated my game playplay SO MUCH in the last one week it's unreal. It just allowed me to think about movement completely differently. More like this please!
Literally just used this I to the 3v3 elim game that I went into and didn’t die lol. I had a 12.00 efficiency
Billy Smith Yea taking it slow usually never fails unless you get shot behind the wall...
Good on you!
Alot of people dont seem to realize how you have to always be at the right place at all times in crucible. I would say positioning might actually be the most important thing in this game

For someone trying to learn how to PvP in Destiny 2, your channel is very helpful with these kinds of tips and tricks
The 2 sec like rule on Nomads videos?
Yeah, exactly like on Nomad's video. Heard it was pretty good.
I read all of them, against my own better judgement. Thanks for sharing!

Wow. I never thought that a Crucible Doctor existed nor never thought that there's someone on TH-cam who teaches about how to improve your skill efficiency and kill efficiency. I learned a lot just from that one video and from that one video alone, you deserved this sub! I can't wait to learn more! Thanks again!
@@benwunrow1131 really good advice, I will definitely work on this
thanks
Well 2/3 of ppl. That have that title bought it or cheated for it so I think ur fine
Anyone can get the flawless titile, doesn’t mean they’re good.
Game sense is, for me, the hardest thing to improve on. Would love to see a video on that topic!
Would love that video you discussed at the end. This is the first crucible video I’ve seen that genuinely made me rethink how I’m playing the game outside of a meta gun, and I’ve been playing since beta D1
Last time I came this early, I had to buy myself dinner.
This started sounding like a real life motivational video there at the end
Thanks!
You explain things in a way most people cannot, it simply clicks with me. This is wonderful
Your voice is so legendary it sounds like you could narrate Nat Geo Wild, Blue planet, or life
Thanks for the great video fella.
me: clicks on the video
also me: remembers im banned from pvp cuz im poor and cant afford good internet.
Your vids definitely helped me out bro. Before I used to just watch streamers. Now I analyze why they made the moves they made. Landing my shots is what I aimed for first and that’s easy but movement was what i lacked. Now I move more and do better. Still trying to move better. A long thank you bro.
The two second rule for me is my slow reaction time of 2 seconds.
Subbed man!
"Top Tier Rumble" *Proceeds to noscope and bag a braindead rusher*
My goodness, the quality of these videos are amazing. Thank you so much for an objective look at competing in crucible.
This really helps, i mean idk bout the 2 sec rules but what i have learned personally from those 1 sided matches(noobs vs high tier skilled players) is just you have to keep moving, if you stay in 1 spot they will just wreck you
This.. Was a life saver, started using this method today and came out positive in every match I played today even the ones I lost
Did this in rumble and won match after match, I would keep an eye on the radar and sort of defend 'my territory' while still moving around the entire side of the map and keeping unpredictable.
i love the way you make your videos there so chill and your voice is really good for commentating your honestly highly underrated
Your voice is the best for explaining this kind of stuff. I would love to see videos on all things competitive play.
I somewhat adapted this concept when you mentioned in in your previous video. Helped a lot with the recent seraph tower grind, even in general PVE running about. Thank you for this.
I think I already do this subconsciously but thank you for going more in-depth on what the person is doing or how to do it
Great video! One small thing I wish you mentioned in this video is not to move excessively. It is important to change location, but don't sprint or jump into the middle of engagements; move with purpose. The player with the first trigger pull has an insane advantage (obviously). If you're sprinting, you aren't shooting.
I think for most people who play fps games this applies for some if not most competitive shooter games, it's nice to see a video being made about it
The difference between a good player and a bad player is the movement!
That voice is fantastic
Edit: The 25 matches of rumble needed for Broadsword taught me a lot, especially prioritizing targets and patience in a fight.
Cheers!
Any and all tips to help improve my skill in crucible is welcome, so yes do more videos on this topic. They really help!
Vicetone as the intro, nice. Love that song "Nevada"
Yes, I absolutely want a game sense video! Thank you, great video.
This is the first video I’ve seen from you and I subscribed instantly. Amazing content
Trying to get into destiny pvp is very difficult. This is very helpful. Thank you so much.
Saw this on a Reddit post, great thing to know is that someone is making stuff like this so i can help my fellow guardians explain how to be better at pvp
