- Crazy to think what is possible with Hardwork, this all started due to @IsaiahRivera1 and @DunkademicsOfficial from when I watched their videos dreaming of dunking for the first time just a few years ago, and now I’m on my way to hitting an eastbay, it truly is unreal. Also thank you to @TomDunks for the video idea a true inspiration aswell. #basketball #dunk #hoopers #nba #transformation #dunkjourney
Music is • The Mandalorian OST - ...
• Zack Hemsey - "The Way"
great work bro🙌 happy to be the first comment on a video that will blow up
I appreciate it bro , let’s see if this comment ages well🤷
Dude Im stoked for all you young teens to get into serious training so soon! There wasn't any educational material online back when I was your age and started playing basketball. How to improve at anything was always kind of a mystery without proper guidance.
Fr i wouldnt have even started if it wasnt for social media!
I actually started playing sports only at 16, but I believe that I can reach great heights
At ur age this is HUGE, keep working it will be crazy in some years, hope no injuries will catch you ! 5'7 dunking, always love to see news road to dunk
Yes sir bro i appreciate it
Reminds me of my own journey when I was a kid back in the late 90s. I started from nothing and eventually started dunking easily. I am 6’3 but have a pretty short standing reach of about 7’10. Had to get my vertical into the mid 30s to dunk easily! Keep up the work and keep grinding - you’re doing really well. 👍🏼
Sounds like you were crazy back in the day😮- I appreciate it
Well done lad. I look forward to seeing even more progress 👊🏾
Thank you bro 👊

Congrats bro! Dope video and dope progression. With how many centimeters or inches of vertical jump did you manage to dunke? What is your vertical jump now?
I couldn’t tell you but it was when my whole wrist was above the rim now I can get my whole forearm above the rim
next: Eastbay (between the leg)
Really crazy progress keep grinding
Yes sir soon come
I was curious what your vert was when you started vs now. Im 6ft but I have a terrible vert and need to work on it. Those dunks are crazy.
My vert was around 30 inches i believ e
Let’s go Alex !!!!!!!
Appreciate it man!!!!
IM 13 and 5'2 and i can touch net. 6'4 standing reach. is that good?
Hey bro nice work man! what work outs did you do? what helped the best? what failed? could you let me know. im 5'8 just turned 13 2 months ago. What should I start doing? I can dunk 8ft easy, 8'5 easy, 8'10 most of the time. Just let me know if you get time man :D
I do strength but I mainly recommend low rim dunking and practing actually jumping bro
Nice video
Thank you man🫡
I’ve noticed that his dunking process started when he gain muscle. Very impressive for a teen, I didn’t get my first dunk until I turned 18. All respect, workouts do payoff.
I had a period where I went gym and worked for about a month straight which really elevated my progress. I appreciate it
Nice
Hi Alex, I'm shocked on your achievements for higher vertical jumps. Your video says you'd share your training program but i can't find it, can you tell me where to find it pls? I want to use your program, thanks and congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉
I appreciate it so much bro- it’s on my tiktok and instagram bio. Tiktok is AlexDunks and insta is alexdunks101
@@AlexDunks1 awesome! Thanks so much for contributing to the basketball society. Looking forward to experience what you experienced through jump improvement. Again, congratulations, my hat is off! 👍
dude... thatts crazy progress. What kinda exercizes did u use?
Plyos strength jumping isometric, lots of help on my tiktok: Thank you bro
what were the workouts and stuff you did bro, cuz this at 15 is actually nuts, u gotta drop everything you did to get here🙏
I appreciate it bro, i have the workouts most on my tiktok but I will post a video soon👀
Amazingg
Thank you
Bro is going to go to the nba slam dunk contest at 17 next year!
I wish 😂
1:32 save your soccer ball from the tree
Haha *Football
Let go bro
Thank you bro
What was the workouts to help increase your vertical?
My program in bio
BTW, another example of why weight training has a very small effect on actual performance: he dunked comfortably before incorporating weight lifting. And he was still growing, meaning that natural body growth on its own was still contributing to his performance, let alone Training on dunking. You also see it with Pro dunkers who can jump out of the gym with little to no weight training. Somewhere along the line they feel the need to incorporate it, but at that point it adds very little to their actual performance
Yes 100% agree on that one weightlifting is not always needed
what was the workout or plan that helped you the most? i am 14 and 6ft. i can grab rim but can't dunk. how did you do it?
Check my tiktok out I have lots of workouts on there
Handle?
bro how much do u weigh and what exercises did u do to increase ur vertical
I weigh around 71kg all exercises are on my tiktok
If you make it to the nba, please revive the dunk contest
Haha I wish
What workouts do you do?
Check my tiktok bro
dmn bro nice, but dont you have knee pain?? i am trying to get my vert up but I have so much knee pain
Isometrics but yes I sometimes do
@@AlexDunks1 where are you from?
i cant find your training mate, i would like to achieve that too so bad, you are a freak ;)
Training program is on my tiktok bio: @alexdunks1
Thank you
What’s ur training routine? I’m 6’3 and I’ve been trying to dunk for a while now but I just can’t get the bounce
Check my tiktok and i also have a week of training in my bio 🫡
Tiktok is: alexdunks1
@@AlexDunks1okay thank you sm
how did you progress so fast do u have any tips
Be consistent and Jump a lot, if you notice I didn’t stop jumping for longer than 1 week
i can 2 hand dunk on 9'11 hopefuIIy soon i can get a windmiII im 6'4 tho so this is mad impressive bro how did u get so bouncy at the end what was the key that made that big change?
Training and perfecting my jump technique did it for me
im 13 and 6'1(6'2 with shoes), though my standing reach is only like 7'8(7'9 with shoes) and my vertical is like 28 inches, barely touching rim but im getting close to dunking on 9'7, like literally an inch away and i really want to dunk soon, and this video has been inspiring, to see that someday i'd maybe be able to dunk like this is crazy, im pretty sure i need about 34 inches to dunk, is that much progress possible in like a few months, since i want to be able to dunk before school ends is that possible?
There’s no set time period bro but with some patience and commitment it’s possible just keep grinding
Niceeeee
I have a very high vertical like 48” but I still can’t dunk and can just almost touch rim when I’m warmed up. I just keep working and working and soon I know I will touch rim
You don’t have a 48 inch vertical if you can’t touch rim 🤣
@@AlexDunks1 no I’m 5’ 3”
My arms only add like 5” I’m 12 💀
What is your running vertical
Around 40
Now I’m fifteen, but I’ll start training for dunk
What training do you think is great?
Plyos and strength training
I dont no why but I cant jump of two legs
Do you have any advices ?
practice on a low rim is my best advice
when i was 14 years old i could touch the rim with only 5'8, but now im 18 like 6'1 and i cant touch the rim.
i gained qeight bcs now im at gym but i want to touch the rim again how can i do it?
Loose weight and train plyometrics
We’re u still jumping with knee pain ?
Yes but I reduced the load
@@AlexDunks1 how did u reduce the load ?
Yo, im happy for you, but how do mfs my height (5’6”-7”) do it? 😭 I wanna dunk so bad too…
Lots of practice and hard work
how tall are you exactly
6ft and half an inch
how did you end up being able to jump higher? im 6'1 and can barely touch rim lmao
Jump technique practice and consistency
2:45 bro actually said “wowza”
hahaha fr
How tall were you at 13?
5’10
@@AlexDunks1 dang bro I’m 12 and 5’4, is that bad lol

"And then I started training in the weight room."
😂still I’m not done

Yes sir
Not gonna blow up ibr
😔
what yo workout
Gonna make a vid soon stay tuned
I look at you and see myself 20 years ago and my knees are screaming every time I see you land on the floor.
I was the only guy in our town who was able to dunk at 5"11
I wish somebody had told me to watch out for my knees. Your landings are very harsh, twisted and out of balance. If you go on like this, your meniscus, cruciate ligament or cartilage will take damage. I think there is already some damage, because you're wearing a knee strap. Just take care. Health is something you can't buy.
Yes I totally agree I have problems with my back aswell as my knees but I’m slowly fixing and strengthening them. My landing is something I do need to work on for sure
