      This is not right comparison. Tiago EV is for budget buyer who want a single car. However comet is for people who have 2 cars, one big suv like Safari for outstation use and one small for city use.

      They need to launch higher variant with 27kwh battery and real life range of 300km for 10L something with fast DC. I will buy for sure. In china they have launched with much bigger 26-28 kwh battery and fast DC for higher variants at 12000USD so why not India

    The MG Comet is not for middle class people buying their first car or smth its for the ones having it as a secondary vehicle specifically for daily urban commute, for the ones who have to travel alone for work everyday for maybe 50 to 100 kms, definitely makes sense.

    Tata should bring Nano ev, Indians ko design/tech/safety features/ncap rating yeh sab ka chaska lag Chuka hai...comet won't attract much customer but for sure this will create another segment.

    Why you’re not comparing with full option Tiago EV? Did MG Pay you? 😂 If the interiors need to be comparable with Comet, you’ve chosen the wrong variant. You still missed to show crucial features like DC fast charging port, auto sensing wipers, auto sensing headlamps, cruise control etc this variant of Tiago EV offers. Excellent video idea, but a poorly executed one. Btw, there is no Eco mode in Tiago EV.

      Most channels are doing the same thing. By just comparing comet with tiago , they are placing comet on two segment above. Also claming 5 star for comet . Whereas result is not available.

    Thanks for this review. You got it write but most people commenting against this car are probably not understanding the market segment it serves. Right segment for this car is people who 1. Already have a big car like Safari/innova for outstation drives 2. Have place to park 2 cars 3. Have infrastructure to charge electric car. 4. Need a small car for small city commutes like office, dropping kids to school, driving to crowded market.
    This car is far better than any other car currently sold in India when it comes to 1. Ability to park in tight spaces 2. Drivability on crowded, bumper to bumper city traffic
    There is truly no competition in current market for comet as its only product in that segment.
    Tiago EV segment is budget EV, which is different from lifestyle EV segment that comet comes in. If Tata relauches Nano in electric avatar, then it will be competition for comet.
    MG should provide fast charger and ADAS based city creep mode features and bump price to 10L to remove tag of cheapest EV

    I think you streched back, the front seats of TATA Tiago too much, which makes it look like less spacious in the back seat.

    MG COMET could have replaced autos and taxis in India, had the prices been lower (3-4L INR). But in 10Lakh this is not at all a worthy EV to buy considering the fact that we have Tiago EV in the same price range.
    Just giving LED setup and few gimmicky features will not attract Indian buyers, considering such a low market design of COMET.

    practical in every possible way, storage plenty,
    seating -your wish,
    safety -more than 3star and based on your driving.
    Reliable-100% guarantee tata has put so much research and development in his car.
    Last is- its a car that will live longer if you treat it right and it will always be there for you

    Important thing people forget is in china it was wuling mini ev (2020 launch)that was far more successful than air ev which is comet and recently launched in 2022. Wuling mini ev started at 4500 USD unlike air ev that is launched at 10K-11K even in china where battery and electronics is much cheaper

      The high cost of the car is due to Indian Govt policies where importing cars has insane amount of taxes. Also India doesn't allow manufacturing in India for MG or BYD as they are from China. So obviously they have to sell at high price. Can't blame MG

Currently both byd and mg follows assembly model where most of platform comes ready from China and some component sources locally and assembled. BYD does not have much local sourcing but planning one. MG has local plant in halol. It uses this plant for export to south east Asia earning us forex. But cost is due to battery sourcing. Due to limited supplier in India and mandate of around 60% sourcing for fame 2 battery supplier have leverage on price as well as customs unlike china where both batteries and electronics are cheaper

Asa for MG, no more investments, they are not able to expand production due to restriction by Indian Government. Chinese EV market is doing insanely well. BYD is the largest in the world, but only 1-2 models of BYD comes to India

    Wait till TATA launches Altroz EV base model under 10 lakhs. Then these Auto Rickshaws don't stand a chance. Tiago was just a trailer before launch of Altroz EV.

      @@prashanthgv86 They don't want to release Altroz EV because Tiago EV was launched just 4 months back. Demand for Tiago will drop if they announce the launch of Altroz EV. Once they are done with selling targeted number of Tiago EV, they will launch Altroz EV. Most likely it will get launched along with Nexon facelift in October festive season.

    Comet EV is strictly targeted for rich city people who want second or third car. This car has premium interiors, and millineals who want to stand apart may like it. However, some of them may instead go for the top lux variant of Tiago EV which is not far behind in terms of comfort features.
    Anyway this micro EV segment is becoming very interesting. In China, these were hugely successful with millions of micro EVs on road. Do youb think they will work in India?

      Took a test drive today and I'm impressed with it. It'll be my second car to go around in the city. It's decently comfortable and doesn't really feel like just 40ps.
      I'm not really sure if it'll attract a lot of buyers but it's perfect for me.

      In China it was wiling mini EV at starting price of 4500 dollars i.e roughly 3.5L not this one. This one in china cost 9700-11800 usd. Wiling do have proper 4 door with bootspace car called wuling bingo ev, you can search online. That would succeed in India. Its its around 1000-1200 usd costlier than wuling air ev

      For price difference, I would take Tata over comet as 2nd or 3rd car. Comet has no crumple zone you get involved in accident and you are for sure dead with family.

    Boss, Tiago EV top variant comes with Contrast Black roof. Also Tiago EV has Cooled glovebox, leatherette seats, push button start, iTPMS, Auto headlamps, Rain sensing wipers, follow me home lamps, home fast charging etc.

    For EV cars, please always tell how much it takes to charge from 20% to 80%. Generally that is very fast. The time it takes to reach from 80% to 99/100% is what is most of the charging time. So if the driving range for you is within 80%, please plan with that sense. For most EVs that should be 2 to 3 hrs.

    actually im a MG ASTOR PROUD owner im telling u my experience with MG is the best very good car and very good service , so its better to choose Comet but its upto u .

      I have GRAND i10 Asta (TOP Variant) AUTOMATIC, So I recently purchased the MG Comet Ev ( 2nd variant, play) for city usage and I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance. The range it offers in Eco mode, averaging around 190-195 km with AC level 3 out of 9 , is quite commendable and meets my daily commuting needs perfectly Also Planning for mg hector plus .. as it is very spacious 7 seater car

    Comet definitely looks tempting as a second car just for crowded city areas...however at that price range its a joke ...I feel sad for people who will fall in their trap and buy this toy for 10-12lakhs 😂😂😂

      @@asap8368 Yes however Tiago EV offers much more at that price and is a proper car...why would one go for a half baked semi car at the same price just some little premium colors and dashboard materials?
      Comets makes sense at 7-9Lakhs on road..anything above 9.. Tiago EV becomes the logical choice.

    Mg comet is not a practical car for lots of 🇮🇳Indian. But Tata is our nation pride and family car and small specious car. And most important 5star safity car is tiago.

    This MG design is actually very very very bad. I know you can't say that in your video, let me complete your video by saying that. It a failure project by MG. If a good looking vehicle is already there in market in the same cost no one will go for such a "Sandas" box

      Comet has no competition as far as maneuverability is concerned.Yet doesn't sell in numbers.
      MG is covering up comet's deficiencies by not giving fast charging. By that it prevents taking it on the highway. Its highway manners are questionable.
      It still should have a boot by extending half ft at least.
      The price at the current configuration should not be more than 6 lacs on-road.
      They recently reduced the price, still the mid variant costs 8.3 which doesn't even have reverse camera ( shame on MG) then why does it have 10.5 screen?.
      No auto AC. Seats not comfortable....
      Oops... Comet as you said is already turning out to be a meteor....
      Lack of DC fast charging & usable boot at 9 lacs....
      MG , you are joking.. and do the selling for TATAs really.
      Wu ling air comes with a fast charging version outside India but not in India.
      MG thinks of Indians as fools.
      We should stay away from the MG comet in its price range and features.
      The internet inside is a gimmick.

      No brother! When middle class people spend 5-6 lakh, it is their ONLY car in the family. This car needs to be versatile. It should be able to carry 5 people occasionally, fair bit of luggage and last at least for 5-7 years. The comet clearly fails on all above parameters.

    in india instead of buying each individual cars in Already crowded roads...dont make sense..what one can do is for each colony or society'...thre can be a shared pay as u go model for such EV, so each colony society can buy this and share among the members on cost basis...this will create a ecosystem and keep trafifc uncrowded...hope someone listens this idea....and try it....

    Tiago is anyday preferred than comet given the pricetag it has. I guess come is a good city driver given they sell if for some what around 5/6 lakh and not more. Comeon, we indians love more car per money

    There was no details regarding the safety like air bags .In case of crash test it will be clear that tata is safe and comet will be a clear failure as there is no space between the bonnet and the user sitting area directly taking the impact

    For the purpose of which MG Comet was built for, can't Tata Tiago do the same things but with better space and comfort. The base prices are also similar. The only advantage is the better/easier parking of the Comet. Not at all practical at the mentioned price of the car.
