7 years experience at 21 is a flex if i ever saw one.
I'm 46, I have been on the job since 13, as well as my partner. It just depends on what kind of life you grew up in, whether you had to work to eat or for your family, or you got to go to school and be a normal kid.
The owners kid. Its pretty obvious hes not ur normal 21 year old apprentice or even journeymen. Hes not the lead for nothing. 99/100 youd be right tho
@JW-pj1zd Yeah, I started 4 months before my 15th birthday almost 40 years ago
I started at 15yo here in the UK so it's not that much of a stretch.
Also he's the bosses son so clearly been around the business all his life.
In Canada you can be in school and start at 16
You guys have proven to be amongst the most respectable young crews Ive seen, well, ever. The companies Ive worked for have never had employees like you do. Youve got good people, keep em close.
Sweet to see everyone rocking Badgers, best belts ever, most people haven't caught on yet, but ya'll got it! Looks like a fun place to work.
That’s right! Appreciate it!
I got badgers in canada and love them, don't see them here too often.
buckaroo, tops
Awesome video! Great seeing everyone's set up.
Ethan is the prepared medic apparently. A tourniquet is a real saver to keeping that red stuff from spilling all over the place. Keep it capable of being reached by both hands. I keep mine strapped to the front area of my suspenders or the belt line. Very important. Your crew has a diverse set of tools and brands. I like the different ways they set them up for themselves. I believe a tourniquet is a great item for all to have. Coffman Construction, do you guys have a first aid or medic kit in a designated truck? Maybe a rigid backboard, an emergency plan of who the driver is, the designated hospital caller, designated medic, etc? Just wondering. Be a good video for others to learn from a safety standpoint. Thanks again, all. You all are doing great things...I'm back to drywall today.
WoW! Seems like a Great bunch and I can’t believe how Young they all are.
Looking forward to more videos. 👍🏾
Seems like a great crew! and im impressed with the quality set ups everyone has! Great Video!
Thanks dude!
Honestly it's mind blowing to see the kit you guys carry all the time.
Somebody please get Ethan some Braces/suspenders for his belt... It's going to cut him in half all that weight on his hips...
Here in the UK tool belts are really only for roofing. Otherwise a tool bag on the ground and grab as I need it. And your trade trousers (somewhat like cargo trousers with knee pad inserts) are all you carry.
On site I'm known as the guy that carries alot and compared to you I carry nothing.
At 23 working in the UK as a joiner/ carpenter all I carry is...
-Estwing 22 oz all steel.
-Fat max Stanley knife
-Fat max tape
-Speed square
-a selection of DeWalt Driver bits P1-P3
-2 Sharpie pens
-50000 pencils because they are lost all the time
-note pad
-cloth
-cats paw
-bacho wrecking knife, think part chisel part knife. Built for abuse.
And that's just in my site trousers. The rest of my gear is in my tool kit to grab when needed. Because if I'm not using it before lunch then it's added weight to me.
Awesome to see how it's done over the pond. Keep up the hard work.
Nice to meet you guys!!!
This team works great together, very professional and thorough. I’m your biggest fan, will be watching everything you do so don’t pick your nose on camera! 👃 This crew is just a big handsome blurr, keep it on the level ladies you rock! Laura your awesomeness in a bottle!
Love you guys 💪🤙🙏
Thanks for watching Dude! Appreciate the support!
I really love to see so many young guys with so much experience. You guys ever want to move to New England you have a job. But up here the whole crew uses the same tape, maybe because we frame to finish. But dudes have work anywhere you need it.
I always love videos like this, showing off the team and the carry. I never carry a chisel, and maybe grab for one like 3 times a year unless I'm doing door hardware lol. But a scratch awl, that I use constantly! And a 1/4" pin punch, helps clear out gun jams and set down 16s for the planer
I don’t always use it as a chisel, but I will probably make a video showing the different ways I use my tools
@@Coffmanconstructionthat would be helpful.
Great TEAM! You restored my faith in the future. I also started young as a Carpenter. I designed and built my first "building" a 12'x16' "horse barn" when I was 14 years old in Cherry Hills. It is a great career choice. Since then I've moved into the custom luxury home market and bigger things including working as a project engineer when building DIA. I just tell everybody "I do not do any projects bigger than 5 billion dollars".😂 haha
Awesome!! I’ll think of you every time I fly out of there now 🤘🏼
In the southeast, its rare to see high quality bags. Most guy's wears 2 hip bags from the box stores. They last about 6 months
Nice video guys. Its good to sometimes see what other guys run for set ups.
Great info. Thank you.
YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!!!!
happy crew, amazing team of people.
What an amazing team you got
Appreciate it bro
I found your channel after seeing someone else framing a floating wall system in CO and then saw your video on it. I use to run a construction company in GA. I'm now living in Australia and although I don't do as much construction I still love talking about it and watching it. Its quite different here and like the US each state can be very different too.
What a superb crew. Such nice folks, at least in this video 😂😂 Hats off to your Dad for being able to handle so many young guns, and even a chick! How rare is that to have a female on a framing crew? Good for her for taking on such a tough challenge.
You're making a nice channel, hopefully you'll have the success of Stud Pack or MattBangsWood.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!!
Man, I love seeing such young blood in the trades!! Unfortunately younger folks in my area aren’t as attracted to it as I was when I started working in residential construction at 19..... you’re blessed, to have such a young and enthusiastic crew!!
I got into construction at 38. I should have done it in my early 20s and you are right there arent many younger guys at all. And the ones I do see just barely want to push a broom.
Been building stairs and remodeling every room in a house for 20 years and all I carry in my belt is hammer, tape, square, pencil/keel, chalk line, razor blade, and the small Irwin channel locks. Anything else goes in the tool box and is an excuse to take a walk. 😂
Hi, what's a keel? Genuine question
@@danthechippie4439 basically a giant crayon that writes on wet surfaces comes yellow blue red black or green, I usually have blue or green.
Just makes bold lines or numbers on stuff so you can see it far away and stands out from pencil, marker and chalk lines
@M0N0T0N0US ah I see, thank you. I thought a keel was part of a sail boat
I love that I always carry a good attitude🙌 good shit brother
Good stuff* my bad
😂😂😂
This brother’s science protect at school was framing the principals house!
I’m rocking badger belt with diamondback pouches. Love my set up
The best crew around🙏
Just missing that special handsome ladder holder and we will be complete!
I’d love to see the prices for every tool on the screen, like the toolbox tours.
Victor and I have the same rig. Badass.
Love the content! Love seeing the younger kids putting the time and effort into the trades!
Do you keep everyone on one site or have multiple crews going?!
Usually 2-3 sites!
Would love to see you go through all the power tools you use on an everyday bases
I’ve got another video on my channel showcasing this!
UK Carpenter & Joiner for 37yrs here, interesting how all the old guys carry half the amount of stuff on them that the youngsters do LOL.
It's a shame the Martinez & Stilleto tools are so expensive here in the UK as they are really nice quality.
Only just found your channel so will work my way through a few videos.
What else is funny is the two older guys have some of least amount of years in the industry. They’re great guys they do awesome it’s just funny that some of us younger guys have more years under our belts
Love it
In New Zealand we have a 1m folding ruler, and we call a cats paw a dog bar lol
Frosty always having a good attirude is so key. I hate working with negative people. I had a bad day yesterday demoing a roof my attitude sucked. I try hard to avoid it. Postivity is key.
First video I'm watching on the channel. I dont know if you know about ATLAS 46 but that gear phenomenal.
I’ve seen it! But never used it
Ethen is a smart man! Carrying that blood stopper, slower downer belt is truly smart! Let’s just say in a former life I know exactly how long it takes to bleed to death? And no you can not hope the Ambulance arrives on time or run around looking like a crazy person asking who has a Tourniquet !
U hv at tops 2 minutes if you have someone hit a main artery ! TOPS !
Ok Jared Thank you and your Dad is young !! Heck I am 65 ( good shape) and I told you I am a full time finish carpenter / contractor! ( just me but I sub and do contracts say if someone wants builtins , crown, vanities, or like I just did 48 shaker doors) . I started at 50 after retiring from a crazy job but this is my dream job and I doubt you hv anyone more excited to start each day than me!
Frosty is right “Good Attitude “ is a big deal! I am odd man out I love the Lord so he gave me the Attitude!
Thank you very very much! I know it’s work to produce these and I really appreciate it brother !
Knock’em dead & make a million !
Kings Table Custom Finish Carpentry
JimDuncan.
Thats a dope tip with the tape measure clip upside-down
Damn y’all got the best crew I’ve seen.. want another hand. I’ll move to Co.. I got family in Carbondale co..
You’re welcome to come visit and work for a few days, maybe it’ll be a good fit!
I always like the employee “Justin case”.😊
Curious as to what off the top of your head you guys use your chisels for and keels?
Keel is good for marking a colored spot instead of an x for layout, chisels are good for getting corners cleaned up when cutting stairs or I like to chisel a corner of a board and I can pinch my tape measure hook in it and pull a measurement
22:40 Big box stores might stopped selling them, but amazon still has 10 different sizes
How did you get the high pressure fitting on the the air blower being that the high pressure fittings are reverse thread?
Teflon tape and send it 😂
Quick question, who made that water bottle holder that Landon has and where do I get one?
Diamond back! It’s called a DB sack
What does John use to attach the pencil to the red keel?
Not a carpenter but the loadout is still interesting. Seems like a solid bunch.
I feel like I would get along with Tyrell and Bailey very well.
Certified Ladder Holder!!! I was wondering what happened to him!!
Just waiting on him to move out here!
If ever there was a dude that belonged on the Coffman Team.
I was curious on what you guys use your chisels for?
I would love to say my bags are always put together but most of the time they are like seeds(guy who likes ranch flavored seeds)
I would love to come work for you man I got just as much love for this trade as you guys I’ve been around construction since I was 7 and I’m now 22 I love to see young guys with a lot of knowledge in the trades
Where are you living? If you’re in CO you’re welcome to give it a shot!
@@Coffmanconstruction I’m not to far from CO I live in Amarillo Texas
That's funny I live in canyon I'm electrician though
@@theone-ou3gd nice nice I’m a painter here in Amarillo i work for Marshall Brazille but I’ve grown up around the trades and I’m looking to get into framing so I can broaden my skill set
Never had a notepad... Always look on the ground for construction paper
Question for Ethan. What does the 5:00 tatt mean.
Where do you guys buy the other belt at not the badger
Occidental belts are available online and at most lumber yards!
A word on the cats paw down on the hips or thighs . If you do fall on that , its going to hurt . The Milwaukee tapes particularly the Stud version , is a good tape , much improved over earlier versions , but im on the Fat Max Extreme , but personal preference.
👍👍
How do you like that smart square?
I like it! I’ve got a discount code for one too, “Coffman”
What's a keel pencil?
Watch fine homebuilding videos with Jerry Haun . He and one other man build a whole house and all he has on his hips is a nail pouch and a measuring tape and a hammer!
Ty. Super helpful.
Hey Jarod- just out of curiousity, what range do you build in Colorado? And are you looking for employees?
Always looking for good guys! I live in monument but we’re working a lot in golden area
@@Coffmanconstruction I live in monument as well, I’m working in Black Forest/kings deer area currently. What’s your commute to most job sites?
@@jacksondunphey2620 between 50-80 minutes lately, but it depends on where we work, we’re not specific to one area. But we probably wouldn’t ever work farther than this
@@Coffmanconstruction what is the best way to get in contact with you?
@@jacksondunphey2620 jarod@coffmanconstruction.com
da gang!
Bro has been framing since preschool! Hahah
How much you make?
Did he really
Say if you have to drive more than 10 nails it’s easier to go get the nail gun 😂😂👍🤙💯
Love the @awesomeframers hat! ❤
It’s signed!
Seems like everyone's running the badger except for the owner I'm kind of partial to the Occidental leather myself
Have you got any jobs available im from new Zealand
How many dead Badgers are around your waist 😂 . Ive had the same Kunys for 20 years , never stitched once . I like leather bags as every canvas version ive tried has burst .
Ethan is a veteran i bet
I think Bailey is a psychopath at the very least a clepto lol and ranch sunflower seeds he trippin
I have to disagree about the sunflower seeds
Ethan "just incase beefin"
Is Frosty a Broncos fan, or what? What’s with orange?
I dig the Vikings music choice. We could rock the work with some Danheim.
He is actually 😂
Mom, school is not for me
How do i become friends with Landon?
Literally talk to him for 5 seconds he’s extremely friendly
those M1 hammers are $650NZ noone can afford that let alone justify the cost of selling it at that price. what does it cost in the US?
About $350
I’d go to war with the guy who carry’s a tourniquet on his tool belt
Are John and Jarrod father and son or uncle nephew?
Father and son!
👍
I am a carpenter in Scotland in a family business as well and have been really enjoying your videos, keep up the good work!
Would love to work out in America framing looks much better than the uk
Eh, it’s alright but it’s one of the lower paying trades in the US and one of the hardest on the body. Depending on what part of the US, the elements can be brutal. In Vermont, where I live, we’ll work in -40 degrees with 4 feet of snow on the ground and we’ll work in 95 degrees with 90% humidity (no idea what those translate to in celcius, but it’s not comfortable lol) I framed exclusively for 7 years and now do full renos and customer builds, so still do a lot of framing so don’t get me wrong I love it. But it’s definitely not one of the more glamorous trades here in the states
Why do they call a cats paw a cats paw? When it looks more like a pigs hoof!
whats a guy gotta do to get a crew like this?
Ethan got the best hammer but I can’t say who has the best bags & that’s because no one has diamond backs… 🤷🏽♂️
Everyone who frames just starts at 12 years old huh
Hey I'm a junior in highschool. Can you make good money framing. If you get into a union (in minnesota or Wisconsin). If I get my journeymans for carpentry, can I make 75,000+ with the union paying my insurance and pention and stuff. I want to do something with my hands, but I also want to be able to provide for my family and let my wife stay home. I would appreciate it if you could help me.
Hey! I don’t do union work, but in the private residential sector you definitely can. With that being said, you will ONLY make as much as you apply your mind and body. It takes hard work, and lots of effort to learn and be flexible and grow
All the things you guys carry can fit in a small light tool belt configuration. Why use massive bags
A woman carpenter @ 9:16 !!!!
Real carpenters dont wear gloves
None of these fools carry any nails? Lol
Coil nailers 🤘🏼
Low pay, no life, ruins your body…. Not worth being a carpenter anymore.
Build custom! We make 6x what a tract framer makes which is crazy
Do those $100 stilleto speed squares have giant lasers on them? Asking for doctor evil.
dam when did kids start sporting high end pouches ????????i alway used occidental but iam a 5th gen carpenter tho..but kids just starting out ???????/
Most of us started with Occidental’s!
I wonder if jesus had a cringy tatoo on top of his hand like matt and jarOd do?
Ethan "just in case" beefin
