Great to see young fine men carrying on the trades of skilled labors and willing to put in hard work for their incomes. I started out as a residential painter in construction at age 19 and worked for 24 years till I got tired of the B.S. Our painting crew were very young as well, whereas masonries , carpenters, framers, concrete flatworkers, roofers, electrciains, sheetrockers, wood floor installers, , so much to name, were diversed in age , but those young guys had to learn from the old guys the tricks of the trades somehow.
You guys are so young and I love the setups. I’m a journeyman carpenter over in California and I mainly do commercial ceiling installs, acoustic solutions and wood ceilings. I just ordered or am in the process of ordering (already exchanged emails with Joel) a ceiling guy specific Badger Belts rig.
I like to load up with just the tools I need for the immediate task at hand to keep my bags as light as possible, with my tool chest or trailer near by with what I'll need that day.
I got rid of my tool belt set up and bought a Saratoga tool vest with the molly system .best decision I ever made . no more back problems way more comfortable .
How do the cresent squares hold up? Do yall have any issues with the extension getting tweeked out of square? My badger belt is coming today, stoked to loose the weight of my leather occidental bags!
When you said you met him at JLC it sounded like “Jail see” I was like woah, that escalated quickly. Just ordered my diamond back set up, running buckaroo currently, very bulky and catches on a lot. 🇦🇺
I have a set of badgers I bought about a month ago, I really like them. Have a couple of sets of occidental adjust to fit and had a couple of sets before that I sold on eBay..
@@santi73k it's an efficiency thing. You have the tape measure on your non dominant side and your pencil on your dominant side so you don't have to switch hands on anything when marking lines.
Yes they do! My hips feel the best of any brand so far without suspenders, but when I do use suspenders I use stretchy pants suspenders, and they are the PERFECT solution!
Fatmax, Martinez m1, johnson square, 9" catspaw, kesson box, and a knife, I ditch my snips and pliers for roof day. Maybe one day I'll drag a coil nailer through the trusses, but for now stick nails hold most my bags real estate.
I was an o lineman in college 🤣 I can stand some exteriors on my own but I lose a lot of shit squeezing through studs and trusses. Had a Milwaukee, then a Tajima, but the kesson sits deepest in my bags lmao.
For me I got used to it because that’s how the occidental toolbags came. But now I prefer it, because while putting away my tape with my right hand, my left hand is already grabbing my square to finish the line
@@Coffmanconstruction I understand to each our own mate, I'm in an agreement with Scott from essential craftsman. Tape and square on the left pencil on the right.
My feet have grown accustomed to my $300 (not sure which model) wolverines and I like them they've been really terrible but I'm sure you could find better comfortability wise LOL
Question? I removed all tools from my belt and w/o naming a ballistic belt! Guess what they were both very light however my belt was a slight bit heavier by that I mean 2 pounds? I am a finish carpenter (contractor I Sub out to a GC). I own a very expensive set of Akribis Leathers with a solid place for everything! The leathers are molded to your body on a sewing horse the Owner uses (Luke) and he calls you when u order a custom belt! I am older than you guy by min and owned all the belts. I wore most out which kind of looked like the ones you gave away? The badger buckle system is nice but wait until you see the one Akribis uses! 2nd to none and comes from the military SF jump system. I absolutely love the way leather smells and ages! Badgers and DB remind me of well ? Cloth? But they R light! Until you put tools in them! Plus I am not a small guy ? Under 6’ and 2 bills so the little bit of weight does not bother me! But I hv to say mine does not come in orange? Hey I am busting your arm u guys are great and I love the video plus u guys are hard working men! Very hard working!
Hey great video guys!! I’m in Colorado and have been framing for 3 years or so I’d love to come out and work with you guys!! Let me know if this is possible
alright guys and gal. I am a slim guy that has absolutely no fat on my hips. I do intend on getting a set of suspenders, but looking for a very heavily padded belt first. Unfortunately, most hardware stores carry a scant selection of belts in which to try on and test. I see that that y'all are a slim bunch and would like to know if you know of a belt that really stands out as far as padding, or any hacks to otherwise a good belt. Name brand, color, etc mean nothing to me. This old guy is looking for comfort and durability.
So cool to see such a young and diverse crew!

That sounds sick! Joel is a great guy, looking forward to getting more from him in the future!
20 year residential production framer here, I think Tyrel has the best chalk line!
Ayyyyy let's go!
I like to load up with just the tools I need for the immediate task at hand to keep my bags as light as possible, with my tool chest or trailer near by with what I'll need that day.
I agree! And surprisingly, everything I keep in my bags I use several times every day
The more you know, the less you carry. Keep a small tote bag nearby with the other tools you aren't using at the moment.
Jarod, I loved the POV layout loadup, was a super cool addition to this style of video! Badgers are awesome, definitely will never regret my setup
Dang so all y’all is basically rocking the Martinez hammer. Gotta love it. I need buy one.
I’m gonna have to use the block for the tape measure. That’s the most annoying thing about my current diamondback setup
Appreciate all the content you posting bro 🙏
I got rid of my tool belt set up and bought a Saratoga tool vest with the molly system .best decision I ever made . no more back problems way more comfortable .
Do you ever have issues with it being hot? Or tools falling out when you lean forward?
No its made of a durable military mesh so I don't have issues of being too hot .
Had several DB setups now running a Badger and it’s so much nicer all around
Love this series
Sick! Much love from Vegas!
How do the cresent squares hold up? Do yall have any issues with the extension getting tweeked out of square? My badger belt is coming today, stoked to loose the weight of my leather occidental bags!
Badgers are awesome! Tell them you know coffman 🤘🏼 they hold up
Good enough, anytime you need something bigger you’re not using it anyways!
What's the name of Landon's razor knife? I've looked and didn't find one similar, i love the small size and color
Bad ass setups guys!!! tape on the right is where its at
I don't know how you guys do it. Left side strong side
Back in the day I was actually on the left side… then when I got my occies I just used the tape pocket and now I can’t switch back 😭
I prefer tape on the left since I mark with my right hand.
Unreal video boys
Stabile makes a holster for that torpedo that I use on my back right side. Works great
When you said you met him at JLC it sounded like “Jail see” I was like woah, that escalated quickly. Just ordered my diamond back set up, running buckaroo currently, very bulky and catches on a lot.

That’s right 😂 met while doing time
Any kind of staples will keep the webbing in place?
I used staples we use for sheeting
Thanks

Badgers are where it’s at now!!
Can I get more info on the Jarod bags, personal favorite and would like a set.
Yea man! Check out badger toolbelts on Instagram! I have the side-by-side carpenters set with a flatbar sleeve and a nailgun hook 👌
how often are you drinking water where you need to carry it on your person? Do you have a pouch for your lunch as well? Otherwise great tips.
😂😂😂
how do you like the dewalt tape compared to the ol fatmax?
It was a good tape! It’s since broken since the video, but now I’m using the lufkin G2 35’ tape
@@Coffmanconstruction how is the actual tape on the Lufkin? They seem very thin and I had one for a bit got all crinkled
Yes! The original one was like that, but the G2 has a blade like a fat max it’s my new favorite
Tape measure needs to be on the left side.
Why?
@@santi73k r u left handed?
@@santi73k it's an efficiency thing. You have the tape measure on your non dominant side and your pencil on your dominant side so you don't have to switch hands on anything when marking lines.
Seems obvious to me if you hold the pencil in your right hand. Speed square also goes on non-dominant side for the same reason.
What if I'm ambidextrous?
awesome vid, great set ups!
Thanks for watching Dan!
Awesome video guys, big ups from NZ, at some point ill switch from my DB to badger
Highly recommend it!
How long did you take to easily slide the stiletto hammer into the hammer sleeve? It is so hard to get in and out.
I wrapped electrical tape on the end of the handle and that helped a ton!
How do your hips feel? Not to much weight? Do they make suspenders for the belts?
Yes they do! My hips feel the best of any brand so far without suspenders, but when I do use suspenders I use stretchy pants suspenders, and they are the PERFECT solution!
What size belt is Jarod wearing on his set?
Size small, check back tomorrow morning too! I’m uploading an updated version of this video

This, plus a beater chisel and air tool. Light and simple. A tool bag near by for everything else.

i like the backaroos they dont hang low like others do. cool set up tho
I glued in a small piece of PVC into the back loop of the diamondbacks to hold a cats paw better…
Who makes Landon's waterbottle holder/dump pouch?
Diamondback 🤘🏼
Sheeesh call these guys the knack boxes
Do you guys hold hands when you're getting your sticker tattoos
I'm the one doing the tattoos! so in a way, yes
What a crew!
Folding square? Seems interesting but I wonder if it stays square after falling off somewhere high?
That’s a good question, it hasn’t happened yet
What brand is the folding speed square?
Crescent
I only carry what I use daily, I could never justify carrying a laser level or some of that other stuff
I agree, I use it daily
Whats the Bosch laser you've got??
It’s the GPL100-50G
How did you stick that hammer so quickly
Into the hammer holster??
@@Coffmanconstruction yeah
I ground my handle down a bit on the bottom and also coated it in hard plastic so it would slide easier
Where does Tyrel get his glasses?
I believe they’re Hyspecs eyewear, I think they sell them online
What Ty said ⬇️⬇️
They are actually Zenni prescription safety glasses.
Very inspirational
Happy to hear it!
Awesome dude
Goid job dude a lead guy with a chalk line
😂
Good shit jared

All of you have different tape measures, have you checked to see it they read the same? I've found that some tapes measures differently then others..
