    Love your video, Luke! I was born in Hong Kong and since my mother passed away recently, I have been dreaming about going back to see my birthplace (left since I was 2 years old) and taste all the great food I've heard my mother talk about. Seeing your visit to Hong Kong really make my desire to go back that much greater! My mother traveled to Hong Kong and China in the 80's and couldn't stop talking about the great fresh tasting food; especially the roast goose...unfortunately, they don't have that here in the U.S. Thank you so much for this video! Going back for a visit is definitely on my bucket list. Hopefully, the pandemic will end soon and it will be safe to travel abroad again.

      @icyhugs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      HK is no longer the city your late mom called home. For your own safety, don’t think of visiting unless it is delivered from the evils of China. Besides, more and more chefs and restaurants owners are fleeing from HK, so, you won’t find them even if you buy a flight ticket. Instead, may be you will find them in UK and Canada.

      @@icyhugs Thank you, icyhugs! I am well aware of the turmoil in the Orient. It is certainly not the place that my mother was fortunate enough to visit. I am hoping that someday Hong Kong will have the peace and freedom that it once had when it was under British rule. My desire to visit is more to see my birthplace. Hopefully...someday...

      Don't embrace someone with a nickname "icyhugs" lest you get a cold. Hong Kong has returned to normalcy after a year of color revolution upheaval openly supported and carried out by sinister American and British imperialists. Welcome back to your birthplace where you can enjoy real Hong Kong delicacies that nowhere else on earth can deliver. Even simple dishes like Choi Sum or Kai Lan with oyster sauce are a hundred times better than those offered by "real" Hong Kong restaurants (run by Hongkongers) in the U.S., U.K. or Canada. And don't forget a bowl of fantastic Rice Noodles with Fish Balls or a cup of excellent hot Milk Tea (even at a Dai Pai Dong on a street corner), let alone the world famous Roast Goose that only Hong Kong can provide (whereas you only taste the much inferior Roast Duck overseas). Keep up the spirit!

    • @sallyyim4427
      @sallyyim4427 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackchiu7560 My reluctance to travel to Hong Kong is not because of politics...COVID is the issue. I have not and will not give up my desire to travel there one day. My mother had told me about the great food...much tastier than the food here; one reason being that meat was never frozen...always fresh. The main reason I wanted to visit is (like I had mention) to visit my birthplace. Thank you for enlightening me and boost of confidence.

      I understand your concern about the pandemic gripping Hong Kong recently. The zero tolerance policy against the virus is still prevalent in Hong Kong and China. Just wait until everything calms down, hopefully soon. I wish you a happy trip in search of your root as well as an enjoyment of Hong Kong delicacies.

    Hi Luke, have you ever been to Vietnam yet? It's the #1 foods destinations in the world. You will love it!!! Everything is so cheap and the living costs are cheaper as well. You should check it out!
