Thank you, Luke and Sabrina, for showing, eating and maintaining authenticity and integrity of HK Cantonese street food in Taipei. Everything looked legit and well presented. I truly appreciate yr work and understanding of the foods you eat and respect of culture. Thank you so much. Take care and stay safe.
Helloo Luke and Sabrina, what really makes your videos different is Sabrina. Having a male and female perspective takes the whole thing to the next level.
It’s wonderful that you can eat foods from Hong Kong and other places from around the world but all in Taiwan! Looking forward to seeing all the other places!
I just wish Taiwan would open up for travel soon. I miss this country and Taipei is my second favorite city in the world, only second to Osaka. (Melonpan with green tea ice cream was the dealbreaker.) ❤️
Hi Luke, for a future consideration, do a video on Taiwanese Bakeries. The Taiwanese has taken what really is an European basic food item to a whole different level. I would suggested that the Taiwanese bakers are very inventive as they are not bound by Western baking/bread traditions nor conventions so it’s a perfect illustration of West meets East.
Thanks for the video. I like this idea of all around the world's street foods in Taiwan. It encouraged me to not feel stuck with all the travel restrictions due to the current pandemic but to enjoy all the little things we have back home. Two thumbs up for both of you!
That dessert soup at the very end had me drooling! I have never been to Hong Kong, but the food looks so yummy. Thanks for another great video Luke and Sabrina.
That’s a brilliant idea about street food around the world, can’t go wrong with dim sum no matter which country you’re in. Just love the atmosphere and the sight of that steaming hot bamboo baskets. Love to see how the Taiwanese takes on the traditional pizza with Taiwanese flavours.
Thank you guys for doing street food because when ever I look for street food tour nothing appears or they don’t explain how it tastes keep it up ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻😍😍😍
Thank you for all your many travel/food presentations. Your choice of cuisines in Asia is highly commendable. Hope you both carry on with your fantastic documentations....Perth/Western Australia
The steamed custard bun served in Plum Blossom is called 奶黃包 (nai3 huang2 bao1). It’s the traditional style of custard bun. If you are looking for the lava version custard bun, you need to look for 流沙包 (liu2 sha1 bao1) instead, which I believe is not served there. Btw, 甜品胃 (dessert stomach) in East district has desserts quite similar to 聰嫂 in Hong Kong. If you want some cold dessert, you should try it out. Longan & Melon sorbet are my favorite 😋 Also there’s a small shop called 双妹嘜 at 農安街 (nong2 an1 jie1) which has nice steamed milk dessert.
If I'm not mistaken, this is where it all began, Hong Kong & Taiwanese street food. Who remembers hot sticky smelly tofu night markets? that oyster omelet? YUM! the mini sausages? OMG! Great to be back guys, for the new series. Has Sabrina had a mega soft-serve cone yet?
Hi, here's a local HKer! love your videos so much!! I can finally see a hk style food which the price in HK is cheaper than TW!! the average spending of afternoon tea in Cha Chann Tann is about 25-30 HKD! I love eating pineapple bun with the butter unmelted!!! that is super creamy!!!
One thing that’s missing in you both is expressing the taste of the food from the depths of your heart. Have observed that focus of the camera after the very first bite is for few seconds. That doesn’t help an ardent street food guy like me to understand ‘ Oh.. I so miss eating that’s dish right now !!’ But otherwise, I like all that’s you do for us. Many Many Thanks !!
That is great start to "Street Food Around The World in Taiwan" series. It was like trip down memory lane from my Hong Kong visit. I had tasted some of those dishes but hopefully I can taste the other dishes too covered in this video. I would suggest to try Indian food video in Taipei and Taichung if it is possible. Thank you Luke and Sabrina :)
Both breakfast and brunch look great so both of these take the cake for me. I just made some tea with Carnation milk and a little drizzle of honey, yummy. Thanks Luke and Sabrina.
Can you guys also review non-Asian restaurants in Taiwan, like French, Italian, Texas BBQ, American burgers & steakhouses, Korean, Japanese? That would really make your channel unique and stand out.
Hi Sabrina and Luke, I didn't know that there is a Hong Kong street food in Taiwan. Thanks for sharing. Fabulous content. You guys are so lucky in Taiwan, during the pandemic Vancouver most of the Chinese Restaurants are close for dinner, only take out . Missed that, relaxing having Tea and Dim Sum in the Restaurant. Stay safe
Dim sum is my favorite food! I could eat it everyday because I love the varieties that you could choose. I think tomorrow I will get some. Bit of a drive, but can't say no to dim sum.
In 1949, the Kuomintang army retreated to Taiwan, bringing nearly 2 million soldiers and people from various provinces in China, and relatively brought different cuisines from different regions. After Hong Kong returned to China in 1997, Hong Kong people emigrated to Taiwan. The more Hong Kong-style cuisines are seen everywhere, although Taiwan is small, it does incorporate cuisines from all over the world. American, Japanese, and Korean styles are everything, and it is worth visiting tourists again and again.👍👍
There’s actually two versions of the egg custard bun and the ones yall ate are the non runny ones (nai wong bao) The running ones are made with salted duck egg (liu sha bao)
That’s what I though too... they would still be runny if they’re the runny kind. I recently discovered my Asian supermarket here sell the runny salted duck egg buns in the frozen aisle! 🤗
Hey guys, one of my friend recommended to watch your videos on my stream! What stuck out the most was the variety of dim sum and the Chong Fang (sorry if i spelt it wrong) at the beginning! We love dim sum places with the carts! It’s our favourite way of enjoying dim sum because you really never know what’s going to come out 🙂 Ahhh the roast meats looks a bit underwhelming and thanks for being honest Luke. Makes you really miss the real deal in HK doesn’t it? Lol wow that HK style cafe looks really good and screams ‘HK’ - we LOVE French toast done like that. Such a HK thing with the slad of butter and drenched with syrup 😋
There used to be a very popular Mongolian BBQ restaurant in Taipei (1960's). I wonder if it's still there. You go through the line choosing ingredients then at the end of the line, your bowl is cooked over a flaming wok heated by a wood fire in a 55 gallon drum. You should try to find one. You'll love it.
Sorry Luke, just a point to note, it’s carnation evaporated milk, not condensed. Condensed is very very thick and creamy, whereas evaporated milk is more runny and less sweet.
