Just picked up this exact truck. 2022 SR with utility package, white, and only 13k miles. My first Tacoma. Down grading big time, but the simple, reliable Tacoma is exactly what I was looking for.

I literally bought the same exact vehicle 2 weeks ago. 2022 Tacoma SR. Got a 5.24% interest rate, put down $2,500, and my payments are $588 a month for 75 months. So I’m basically paying $44,100 for this truck. Tell me how I like to get fucked.
Dude… you’re getting boned. Refinance that to a better apr. Did you not have any credit score when you bought it? Dealerships only bone you like that if you have zero credit. Once I got my credit score over 700, I called my credit union and got it down to $364/mo I currently owe 17k I did put a big down payment tho. I would say pay it off because these trucks DO keep their value aslong as you take good care of it

Hello Chris. Great truck. I have a 2020 Tacoma just like yours but mine is black and I love it. One thing I just learned what mine it's your turn the key twice to unlock the door and it will unlock the passenger side. Hope you enjoy your truck. Tacoma's are great. Take care

I bought a used 2011 Tacoma 2.7 L, 4 wheel drive, extended cab with 20 k miles for just under $20 K. That was 12 years ago and I have about 110 k miles on it in June, 2024. I love this truck. I can’t say how many cords of wood I’ve hauled for my wood -burner plus random other things. Dependable, comfortable, and without payments for the past 7 years, I feel very fortunate. This truck just does not disappoint.

I just brought home a used ’22 Tacoma, silver, so much like yours, it will haul building supplies far better than my little cute blue sports car or my Vespa and it means I can take a Vespa to ride with others. It should last me a long time and will be that back up vehicle when I need it and haul what I want hauled.

I have a 2014 just like that model. Good truck. I have around 150000 miles on it. I never had any problems with it. No power, but it’s all I need.
I do not trust this video. Toyota is charging 5 to 10 K over MSRP. I went to 4 dealers in Tennessee and all are still over charging folks. White is a bad color. It will start to peel in a few years,.
Toyota isn't charging over MSRP.....the dealers are. I had to look at 6 dealers to find one that wasn't.....I bought mine for MSRP.
I have a 2021 SR, black, V6, access cab with long bed. Love it! I may upgrade wheels when tires wear out.
Should of got the 4 Cyl.
Fast forward two years and that same new 2024 Toyota truck is probably around 40k.
No doubt I'm never buying another new ride ever! Just gonna drive this one 4sho!

Sadly when the 25 tacoma sr 2wd later this year comes out it will be around 35k, but it will be better since it will have the turbo and better gas mileage.

Nice.. I would have gotten this version but I needed the towing package so got the 4 full door with the V6.
But that 4cyl gets better reviews for longevity and low maint than the V6. Keep up on maint and they'll go 300K+

I think once the price point is over 30k on any vehicle, you might as well consider an extra 10k to get exactly what you want.
30k rn is that weird range between 20k and 40k where you can finally afford reliable quality, but for just 25% more you can have that and something you’ll love for all those years it’s gonna last.
Then again, I’ve driven a lot of base model vehicles for years to get to the point I could, so idk. Point is, don’t cheap out when you’re 3/4 of the way there.
I disagree. Tacomas are more than worth it at 26-27k even at base model like this. The extra 10-12k is unnecessary for most who will rarely use the truck to it's full potential. Age old rule it's not a good deal if u don't need it.
@@shadowaccountI specifically like how simple my 19 sr is. The fact that it’s key entry and does t have a electronic fob is a bonus for me. I’m a very outdoors type guy, surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding. All those slams and water especially are not good on key fobs. All I need is AC, audio and reliability

I’m looking at one of these right now, I have a 2002 TRD 4x4 tacoma with v6, only gets 14-16 mpg. That’s why I’m looking at a 4cyl. I also have a 2005 F250 diesel with the 6.0L, it’s bulletproofed and gets about 15 mpg but I’m running 35’s and I use it just to go to my hangar and work on AC. The only apprehension I have is that I’m 6’2 240 lb. Is the Tacoma comfortable for bigger men?

Damn. $27k was a 4 door base one with convenience package just 1 year ago. Not a rear seat? Did they charge over MSRP, or extra fees beyond Tax/Title/License? I like the 4 cylinder. Will last forever with maintenance. It has under 160 hp.

@@jaysmith179 no one should buy any car over MSRP. I always paid under, andI have zero intention to consider doing any different. Wait, Folks.. or find a ethical dealership. These guys are going to put them selves out of business and manufactures will start selling direct.
It’ll only peel if you don’t do proper maintenance ie: wax it at least once a year, give it a proper wash when it needs it with additives to prevent corrosion, paint protection etc.
Most Toyota dealers for this model are NOT charging extra. Mine on Valentine's Day when I bought it in Bellingham Washington was under $28,000 after TTL. The next cheapest pickup truck anywhere in NW Washington near me was a Ford Ranger base white at $49,000 and then a Chevy Colorado at $50,600

I bought the same truck last week but silver metallic for about same price! I also lucked out and drove it home same day! I live in Phoenix Arizona! It’s almost impossible to buy a new vehicle and take it home same day! They look like they are 4x4s cause they sit up tall! I am going to have a cold air intake to give it some more power! They have 159hp but back in the 80s and early 90s a Chevy S10s Ford rangers V6 was about the same or less! Everything now is 3 and 400hp plus, that’s why it seems slow but it’s not that bad, I now have 80 miles on it, I plan on paying it off before it has 500 miles on it!

Awesome truck been thinking about getting the same but 4x4. Reliable little gas saver they are. Also look into the carnivore diet. You literally just eat meat, fatty meat any meat you can get and just eat as much of it as you want. But only meat. And I bet you'll lose the weight and get your health back. And it's a Diet that you don't want to quit because who doesn't love meat. Do some research on it it's done wonders for alot of people.

I love my 2019, bought new. Fill the floor behind the seats with ammo boxes, lay down a thin plywood, cover that with a padded dog bed and you’ve got a perfect spot for one or two golden retrievers. Mine loved riding there.

@@MrBigChris620 A dog seat cover that attaches to the headrests helps protect the dog when you hit the brakes. I also surrounded the walls with cushions.
You may have paid a bit too much for your truck. I have the same truck, but mine has 4X4, and I bought it for $26,000.00 even. I wrote the check in full at the dealership.

I got the v6 4wd and i love it
6 miles round trip to Work? I’d definitely Bicycle there. Get a comfy commuter bike. 3 miles each way is only 30 minutes max leisurely cycling.
Biggest problem with bicycle to work is there is no shoulder and mega traffic on a one mile hill or I'd do it almost every day!

There is a holder for the gas cap lanyard built into the door but nobody knows about it. Right where the lanyard attaches to the cap, that part clips over the holder on the door

@@MrBigChris620 I have exactly the same truck . I have 1,300 on it . My only complaint , knowing it wouldn't race my tundra is . It sometimes shakes at long lights & with the AC on sometimes . Have you checked your MPG ? I haven't yet :D

In todays market it’s not easy finding a 4x4 access cab Tacoma unless you place an order for it. My dealership hasn’t had one in months. In my area within 100miles all I have found is double cabs or access cab 2wd.

There's no seat in the back of ours either there's no carpet aren't isn't the warranty supposed to cover that on the carpet in the back seat there is no back seat does it cover the carpet in the back we're very upset to see is not there we got robbed what can we do

Very expensive I bought a brand new 2020 2.7 ecoboost v6 for 33k plus taxes. 2.7 is one of the most reliable engine in the Ford. Love it so far 400 hsp 430 torque. I get 23mpg
Ford is a terrible brand. Good luck with the oil consumption, failing water pump, and transmission issues

You will probably have to down shift to go up hills.
I have the same one as he . It isn't fast in auto . You can hand shift , or switch to the mode that delays "shift points ". After it is going down the road 70 or so . It passes reasonably well . For a commuter I'd say it would be fine . That is my basic purpose other than to haul a 12 Ft John boat , bikes in the back , or my Ebike .

I've always heard that with a new Tacoma that you weren't supposed to drive it up to highway speeds during the "break in" period. Just what I've heard. I really don't know. Supposedly lower speeds are recommended until you reach about a 1000 miles on the engine before reaching highway speeds. Any thoughts? Thanks for the segment. Love the truck. Just subscribed. My first 2000 miles on my Tacoma were exclusively highway.
No high RPM,s would make more sense but there’s no reason you can’t drive it on a highway I’m not a mechanic by any means but a engine takes more then a 1000 miles to break in ,the valve seats in the heads are not soft metal if I had to guess I’d say it’s probably broke in at around 5 or 6k miles assuming you didn’t hot rod it!
You need varying speeds to help the piston rings seat, if you don't you can get some pretty nasty blowby
