The chicken tax is an old out dated law that needs to go
The Chicken tax doesn’t apply to trucks from North America so you buy one in Mexico or Canada.
Isn’t this the one that’s available everywhere except the US?
Buy one from Mexico and cross it into the u.s. and you can drive it around with mexican plates. If the cop stops you, you tell them you're only visiting there and will go back to mexico then keep doing that until its 25 years old.
I seen this & my hi eyes opened wide w/the endless possibilities of this truck got damn we need this in the US
We're getting them very soon in the Philippines under the Tamaraw name
Thats toyota's "tamaraw" which is for the philippines
its not for thailand only its from the legendary vehicle idea from TOYOTA in the philippine. the Toyota tamarraw
Tacoma’s have been made solely in Mexico for a few years now.
If you want something similar you would have to import a 30yo hi ace
We'll pay the taxes just bring it to us
It's horrible the way American regs on this won't let a cheap lite pickup come in, I think that's more to protect domestic automakers than anything else.
Come on guys, of course you won't be able to buy one in the US. Nobody would even consider buying a US pickup for 80k $ if there's an alternativ that cost a quarter.
It will destroy the big three losers 😂
They're coming out with a Corolla Truck to compete with the Maverick...
looks nice with rockets pod 😅
Don't worry, it'll be marked up in the USA for $45k.
We need an SUV version
And to my info right now.. Thailand people making them into cheap version 6x6 or 6x2 offroader and hauler..
Americans want huge trucks with large engines and lots of HP. This would never sell in enough numbers to be viable for the US market.
Isuzu's N-series is always there in your market, but no diesel engines, too bad. Isuzu North America should ditch these gas guzzling engines and they should put their real Isuzu engines, not the Cummins. The Cummins is just good for industrial equipment, not on moving vehicles
@@montesa35 I don't think Isuzu is even sold here in Prague. Trucks aren't a thing here. Vans are far more convenient as work vehicles, and men here don't need pickup trucks to feel like men.
Huh? Last I checked a majority want practical trucks, EVERYONE loves my Daihatsu hijet.
@@graywolf2694 What sells in the USA? Large, heavy, high power trucks and SUVs. People may think your vehicle is cute, but it would never sell enough to make money in America.
@@stevemcgowen That's like saying Americans love McMansions because they outsell everything else.... yes. Yes when you REMOVE ALL OTHER OPTIONS WHAT'S LEFT OUTSELLS EVERYTHING ELSE.
Dammit. I want one. 😢
Let me guess, without watching the video. Not available in the USA.
I hate all the new technology in cars today. I have a new Outback, and Tacoma and am not impressed with either. I would pay to have a solid small 4x4 truck with no frills, absolute minimal electronics (radio, USB port, AC, speakers) and enough power to pull roughly 6000-7000 lbs.
Boy I sure do love having to shell out 60grand for a truck that I cant maintain on my own cause of all the computers in it that will manage to break down and fail in just five years because the builders practice planned obsolescence.
Won’t pass America’s strict safety crash standards
EPA needs to be abolished for their erroneous activities with import cars. If random people can cross our borders then should cars!
Still at 12k there is a market for this truck lol
It's so dumb. Americans would buy these. Hipsters and tradesman would love them. As someone with a toe in both pools, I would buy one.
The problem is even homeless could afford them. People would be saving on repairs, tires, oil, they wouldnt be in debt for 70 gs for an american truck. What will the 1 percent do?
In Australia we will not get the Toyota Hilux Champ because of the lack of safety equipment but it can be imported privately we get JDM vehicles in Australia that are only 1 year old but these are mainly people movers but the Champ because it's a commercial vehicle and by the its a ute no such thing as a mini truck they are small utes and you can buy small utes in Australia although not common and the Suzuki Carry van was available through Suzuki dealers when they were new also a small Daihatsu van there are many Kei cars available through dealers but there is a huge amount of JDM vehicles available in Australia see them every day especially believe it or not Toyota's they are everywhere but fir the Hilux Champ there is a drawback with them no heater if you have a good look at the dash board no heater controls at all that will limit there importing into Australia because they will actually are been sold in Papua New Guinea which is the closest country to Australia maybe a couple will make there way into the Northern pats of Australia but the lack of a heater may limit there sales but the Hilux Champ does have air-conditioning so great for warmer climates after all you wouldn't apart one in Tasmania and Australia doesn't have that stupid chicken tax
Why did y’all show a ford maverick?
