For a good laugh : This was Denons reply to my question : Thank you for contacting Denon Customer Care. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. Regretfully, our AVR's were not manufactured to power more than one sub in a single subwoofer output so we will not be able to assist you in this matter. We recommend that you consult with a professional installer in this matter. We hope this helps! Best Regards, Christopher So ... thanks for posting this and getting me onto the path of fixing this issue !!. I replied to my own post in how I solved it, in case anyone is having the same problem as me, in that my shakers wouldn't run hard enough for Audyssey to pick anything up and still wouldn't enable the second sub output on my X6700H. Appreciated !!
This helped so much! I was worried that my 2 week old S760h was a lemon. Turns out I added height speakers after the Audyssey setup (like you did the second sub), which led to the greyout. Problem solved thanks to you!
I too have bass shakers so I just did a 1 subwoofer output and then turn the manual setup to 2 subwoofers... man it would have take me forever to find this, thank you so much !
Yes sir. I did exactly what you suggested and I can select the audyssey settings again. Don't think I would have thought of doing this. So thanks again.
Wow I'm having this same problem. Except I never changed any settings. I just wanted to change audyssey from reference to flat to hear the difference and it was grayed out just like yours. I ran audyssey again in all 8 positions. Hopefully is stays this way. Running audyssey is time consuming
Ty, I am wondering if you are using AV Access transmitter and receiver. I have a transmitter and a reciever but when I point the remote to the projector, it does not work. I have to point the remote to the receiver before it work. Any thought?
Greyed out = Audyssey disabled When the user makes even the slightest tweak to the speaker configuration in terms of the number speakers utilized (or the location/function of the speaker) such action will reset Audyssey. Note: You can change the speaker setting for the “mains” to large or small without resetting Audyssey but again; any change to the number of speakers or the layout (e.g. changing rear height to rear presence speakers) resets Audyssey.
Is it always grayed out or just on certain movies or sources? Try a few different options. I've noticed mine being grayed out sometimes as well and have to go into the speaker/distance settings menu in order to change the sub output volume levels.
Hi put my gaming pc into the gaming hdmi set it all up yet its very quiet, even though I turn up to 35 volume and tv sound settings is at 15 volume almost double tbe sound yet on my old pioneer 933 no problem any idea
I would be checking the sound settings on your gaming pc. There is probably a seperate volume output level that you can adjust inside of your pc. Check the sound settings and go from there. Good luck!
My dolby atmos stop working last night,no sound at all when try play dolby atmos so i done factory reset,i done audyssey set up again and my centre speaker failed twice,no idea what happe and how to fix this☹️
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. When you say center channel failed, what does that mean? You aren't getting any sound out of the center at all? Have you called tech support or Google searched for that issue? Good luck I hope you can figure it out
For anyone that comes across his video. When I first ran audyssey, I had a pair of my Dolby Atmos set as rear heights but later I switched it in the speaker layout to top middle, and this change alone greyed out the audyssey option. So changing the names or positions in the menu/app seems like a greys it out as well. Hope it helps.
LOL. I legit just had this happen. I switched mine from front height to top middle and it's grayed out. Been about a month and just realized this. Have to rerun tomorrow morning.
@@FuSoYa89 what was the difference like changing your heights from front to Middle? Did you feel like the effects are better in the middle position? That's one thing I have been wanting to play around with. I want to know which heights layer setting is giving you the most audio data? Thanks in advance for your time.
Didn't work for me .... I'm running my transducers via an old sub woofer plate amp on sub two, that isn't very powerful, but for me, it was good enough as I don't like to run my buttkickers too "hot" anyway. But it doesn't output enough for Audyssey to detect any "noise" from the transducers. I'm gonna try and connect another sub I have in it's place so that it at least detects "something". Not sure how much that is going to mess with my sub response since it's atm ... perfect. Running 4 subs off sub 1 via a MiniDSP and have my subs gain matched, time aligned. I'll report back. But honestly Denon should be pushing out a firmware update that gives you the option to label sub 2 as a "transducer" so it doesn't over ride Audyssey. I've emailed me ....... lets see what they say.
So ...... here was my work around. I used a Y splitter fed into my MiniDSP and ran both sub 1 and sub 2 into the MiniDSP. So essentially running the same set of subs for both. That way it detected the "subs". Then just disconnected the Y splitter and put everything back to where it was, Sub 1 into the MiniDPS and Sub 2 back into the plate amp for the bass shakers. Then afterwards I was able to change the distance for sub 2 to "time align" the transducers ( bass shakers ) to match the sub response. Hope this helps anyone else that has the issue I'm having.
Hello friend, very good video, the same problem occurs to me and it is already too recurring and it happened after one day my avr lost the internet connection (problem that I was able to fix thanks to a reset); I can recover the audio settings from the phone application but it is very tedious that the problem keeps recurring... I don't know what to do anymore 🫤
I don't know what else to recommend unfortunately. Other than once you get it all set up the way you want it, and Audyssey is working, etc., backup (save) you settings on an external thumb USB drive if your receiver has that option. Mine is under the front flip down cover. There is an option in the main menu settings to save settings. It saves all the AVR settings to a USB drive, so if something happens, I can restore all the settings quickly and easily that way.

Hey Ty,
Thanks mate for sharing really appreciate your clear illustrations on all your vids.

Isn't that crazy how that happens and you don't even know it! Good job figuring it out and getting it back to where it should be.

I ran into this same issue when I installed my bass shakers a couple days ago.
Did you notice or find the issue right away? I didn't! But glad I did and fixed it! Thanks for watching 👍
your videos always are perfect explained and easy understand .Can I ask you why your front crossover are 110hz
Thank you! Please watch my video for the reason why I choose my crossover settings where they are: th-cam.com/video/3OLpAcYW7Ro/w-d-xo.html
Worked on x3300w, no need to recalibrate again! Thanks Dude :)

Makes perfect sense! Thanks for watching and sharing that info!
No it won't. You will still have access to your Audyssey menu if you change the speaker levels. That's exactly what I did and it is still enabled.
My subwoofer volume is also grayed out like yours ?
May I know how to fit it ?
Tks!

Hi, my speaker config menu is missing or are they not available for AVR-X 2800H? under Manual Setup
Same here...

Make sure you are not on DTS Virtual X I was losing my mind for an hour there!
You can't make any Audyssey adjustments when on Virtual X
