    All these amplifiers are trash they sound good and have power but they dont last. No sound for no reason is the main provlem with these plate amps. You leave it plugged in to the wall it will get damaged even when you are no playing it. The slightest surge in the electricity will damage it. They are doing this deliberately so it wont last with mediocure parts ttash capacitors

    Greetings from Malaysia. Thank you for your video and it really helps me. Last month, there's a heavy rain downpour and almost the entire town I'm living were flooded (flashflood). Upon reaching home my SB-1000 Pro was already submerged like 4 inches depth of water. I was like my life was doomed. I left the subwoofer to dry itself for approximately 3 weeks. Then I removed the driver to see if there's water damage or signs of rust but none. Able to turn it on with the blue lights illuminated but no sound. I didn't use the 9V battery method but connected speaker terminals cable to listen if there's any sound. After watching your video, I gave a try to factory reset via the app and voila! The subwoofer is alive!!! Thank you so much for your video. Appreciated with many thanks.

    With a perforated screen like that I have been told I need 12" of space between the screen and speaker or you will get comb filtering. I won't have 2" to work with and want a ALR screen as well as AT. Seems you have yours pretty close. Do you notice any bad audio? Would only be my center channel behind the screen so I wouldn't think it would make a noticeable difference like having the L and R behind it that close as well.

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't noticed anything having my center behind the screen. I have never heard that that happens either, but I haven't researched it. I would think even if it effected the sound a little bit, it would still be better than having your center channel under the screen exposed, way below ear level. You'll be happy you put it behind the screen, I say go for it.

  • @Superchad245
    @Superchad245 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    what modifications would you have to do in order for this to hinge from the ceiling instead of the wall? and how heavy is it and what would you need to allow the screen to be held up on the ceiling I am thinking of a similar swinging screen, but it needs to be away from the wall (TV will be on a stand) and the projector screen swings down (TV for casual watching) I also want the screen to come out in front of some furniture and storage bins that otherwise would block the screen since I want to be able to use the TV still, this would need to be able to be latched to the ceiling when not in use

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love that idea first of all. I honestly think the piano hinges are strong enough to hold the screen, but you could always do a third on in the middle. Plus they make different lengths, so maybe just 2 longer ones would be enough. They should show the weight limit on the package. Just make sure you get them into some studs in the ceiling. Maybe span the distance between ceiling joints with a smaller 1x2 so you have plenty of area to screw the piano hinges into. You don't have to use piano hinges either, there are plenty of hinges out there to choose from. Good luck - sounds like a neat project!

    Your situation closely matches mine. I too prewired all potential TV locations during construction with multiple Ethernet cables in each location expecting to someday implement Control 4. I've since abandoned that idea thanks to current streaming technology, and Home Assistant. I don't use Wi-fi unless I absolutely have too. I started using Google Home devices for whole-home audio and soon decided I didn't like Google being involved, so I removed them in favor of traditional ceiling-mount speakers and discrete amps located in my rack. I stream audio through Chromecast devices using SiriusXM, Spotify and Plex running on my NAS. I also ran multiple "tubes" between my lower level (where the rack is) and the attic above my main level. I've used those many times as I've added speakers, PoE security cameras, etc. on multiple occasions. The HTD system piques my interest. I definitely will investigate it further. Thank you for the informative video.

      Very nice! Sounds like you've planned ahead for the future about as much as you can. It's hard with the ever-changing advances in technology. I really like my Lync system though. It works great - the Alexa in the ceiling is always a hit and makes it so easy to stream music from the in-ceiling speakers in that zone. I only wish I would've added that capability in more zones throughout the home. Maybe next time.

    I know this video shows a year old, but I was curious how you connected your TV's as an input. I'm getting ready to do this in my house with the Monoprice 6-zone system. I want to be able to hear whatever is playing on the Apple TV in multiple zones, if that's possible. Thanks!

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HTD makes Input panels that are hardwired via an ethernet cable back to the main processor. They make several options for input panels from standard, Bluetooth, optical, etc. I installed these panels behind my tv locations, and that's what creates an option to select the tv as an input so I can listen to the tv output in any zone that I choose. Here is the link to the Lync options, if you scroll down towards the bottom you will find the various options for input panels. Hope this helps! www.htd.com/Whole-House-Audio/Lync

      I am using it for subwoofers, yes. I would look up the specs of the l/r speakers and the specs of this or any amp you may decide on to see if you can wire it into a 6ohm load properly at the correct power levels to prevent damage to the speakers.

    That 10dB boost you applied at 58 kinda added a big boost for the left and right seats. I would probably want to find a middle ground at 5db boost so the boost isn't as intense for the side seats.

  • @nemakis
    @nemakis 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Two points. 1. The benefit of double subwoofers is to better cover nulls and spikes in frequencies. To achieve this, the 2 subwoofers must be far from each other in the room. Ideally in the two front corners, or diagonally in the corners, or in the middle of the room on the side walls, etc. Placing them almost next to each other, I doubt if ideal results will be achieved. 2 The amplifier you have supports both multiEQ XT32 and SubEQ HT, Sub EQ HT is a method we came up with to deal with multiple subs. If you only have one sub then it's not in use. The idea is to first measure each sub separately, then apply delay and level settings so that the two subs are now time and level aligned. Then we ping them once more as "one" sub to derive the room correction filter. By using the two subwoofers in an output as one, there is no use of the ability to first calibrate between them in level and time alignment, so that later both aligned between them, to calibrate in the room as well. You could connect them both to the two outputs of the amplifier and eliminate the mini dsp. And then if you need dsp setup, you could use the built-in dsp that the svs 1000 pro have, through the mobile app that the svs subwoofers have.

      I would not think so. It would possible if the soundbar had an LFE output. The LFE output then would also allow u to set the frequency response to 80hz or 60hz which is needed for the shakers which should activate when the bass is really low. U should not be sending high frequencies to the shaker. They will get damaged. I highly doubt soundbars have this output so the answer to you question is unfortunately “No” 😢

    Ty, I am wondering if you are using AV Access transmitter and receiver. I have a transmitter and a reciever but when I point the remote to the projector, it does not work. I have to point the remote to the receiver before it work. Any thought?

      Thanks! Yes, it's just a 2x4s framed to get the rack up off the ground some for easier access to everything and in case the basement were to ever flood.

    This is one of the best looking screen builds ive seen on here. What width is your border? It looks perfect compared to some of the really wide ones people use. Im about to build a 110" inch screen this week.

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much - appreciate it! I honestly don't remember the width, I thought I mentioned it in the video maybe. It's not very big, I'm thinking it was 2" wide total and I basically lined it up on the outside edge and flipped whatever remained (1") to the front of the screen which forms the border you see when looking straight on at it. Hopefully that makes sense.

    hey great video.. quick question. I'm confused how to set up multiple shakers. I have a dedicated amp with 4ohm currently connected to one shaker. But i want to add another one. Do i need to change the amp to 8ohm? each shaker is also 4ohm

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You change the Ohms by how they are wired. Do a google search for wiring diagrams and it will show you how to wire them up properly so you have the correct ohms going to each shaker. I have 2 shakers on each 'channel' coming from the 8 ohm amp so that each shaker receives 4 ohms, for example.

    you need to reinforce the baffle. it's rattling and creating inaudible reverb. it's visible on the graph.

    For a good laugh : This was Denons reply to my question : Thank you for contacting Denon Customer Care. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. Regretfully, our AVR's were not manufactured to power more than one sub in a single subwoofer output so we will not be able to assist you in this matter. We recommend that you consult with a professional installer in this matter. We hope this helps! Best Regards, Christopher So ... thanks for posting this and getting me onto the path of fixing this issue !!. I replied to my own post in how I solved it, in case anyone is having the same problem as me, in that my shakers wouldn't run hard enough for Audyssey to pick anything up and still wouldn't enable the second sub output on my X6700H. Appreciated !!

    Hi Need your advise i got 2 micro subs running so i use the main Denon 3700 has only 2 pre outs only I am using rca y adpter to split the signals to the micro sub and the split cable to 2 secondary onkyo nr 656 input i only got 2 bst-1 bass shakers do i set the direct signal from the onkyo have a better response what do you think ? need your advise before i set it up hope to hear from you soon thank you Down under jt

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you don't want the secondary receivers adjusting the bass signal from the Denon. Its only purpose is to amplify the signal to power the shakers. On my Onkyo I have a 'Direct' setting which simply passes the signal straight through and does not adjust it with any type of EQ or anything at all. That's how I have mine set up. You can always try it out and see what you like, it's not necessarily wrong.

    Didn't work for me .... I'm running my transducers via an old sub woofer plate amp on sub two, that isn't very powerful, but for me, it was good enough as I don't like to run my buttkickers too "hot" anyway. But it doesn't output enough for Audyssey to detect any "noise" from the transducers. I'm gonna try and connect another sub I have in it's place so that it at least detects "something". Not sure how much that is going to mess with my sub response since it's atm ... perfect. Running 4 subs off sub 1 via a MiniDSP and have my subs gain matched, time aligned. I'll report back. But honestly Denon should be pushing out a firmware update that gives you the option to label sub 2 as a "transducer" so it doesn't over ride Audyssey. I've emailed me ....... lets see what they say.

    • @diamond4829
      @diamond4829 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So ...... here was my work around. I used a Y splitter fed into my MiniDSP and ran both sub 1 and sub 2 into the MiniDSP. So essentially running the same set of subs for both. That way it detected the "subs". Then just disconnected the Y splitter and put everything back to where it was, Sub 1 into the MiniDPS and Sub 2 back into the plate amp for the bass shakers. Then afterwards I was able to change the distance for sub 2 to "time align" the transducers ( bass shakers ) to match the sub response. Hope this helps anyone else that has the issue I'm having.

    I actually prefer "dynamic EQ" as it more or less gives you an auto "house curve" for lower volumes. It wasn't until a couple days later, I didn't recall it asking me to choose the - db setting ( I use 0 db ) so I went back in to double check, and low and behold, I discovered that Audyssey was "disabled" and greyed out. And sure enough it was because I had added Sub 2 for the transducers / buttkickers. So this video helped out a lot, thank you. For those of you who don't like Audyssey for various reasons, particularly when it "sucks out" your sub woofer response, I highly recommend you having a look at Home Theater Guru's series. Specifically, episode 44 on using Audyssey selectively. I would also recommend episodes 8 and 7 for those who are really serious about finding that magic bubble of sound in their theaters. Hope this helps. Down the rabbit hole of home theater sound we go ..... lol ............. anyway ... I liked and subscribed to your channel cause you helped me work through this issue. Awesome !!
