This should be illegal, no two year old should ever have to go through this. Seeing all those babies who look like they only just learnt how to walk, being judged on their looks. No better way to ruin your childs self confidence before they know how to even form a sentence yet.

This is sad. This 'mum' says that she is exposing her kid to real life when posing with virtually no clothes. My parents exposed me to museums and zoos and libraries. I could read since I was 4 and asked many questions when visiting the Natural history museum [ETA: I am from a working class background]. I eventually got a BSc [hons] in Neuroscience and worked in R&D labs, doing exciting and well paid work. She exposes her kid to sleazy modelling as if that is normal, I have the feeling the poor kid will have to follow that path because she's never exposed to anything cerebral. Tits out it is for the little girl in about 14 years.

Then look into the eyes of your sweet daughter, see who she is... right there, in front of you... innocent and a true winner. As a therapist, I volunteered to assist young pageant participants emotionally cope after their loss of a “State Beauty Pageant”. Young, beautiful woman... broken because of conditioning from their own family. Please Stop!

It’s been good to follow this video, the comments, and feelings. I would like to add to my original comment. As a mother, I stepped into that position with what I knew at the time(my conditioning). My approach to motherhood was based in love, or what I thought was love. Life is a journey, and in most cases... when you know better, you do better! However that “knowing” is also subjective to ones conditioning. Perhaps this mother felt she was providing her child with the best she knew. I still have to say, for me and my experience...this story is heading in a potentially scary direction, and hold to my previous comments... However, I also believe when love is present, all things can work out! So here is to “LOVE”! And the hope that all parenting will be fashioned towards love, genuine caring, and nurturing with the best intentions for all. We all need a little Grace! Blessings ~

This is the WORST pageant ever, Actually.. all pagents are horrable because the how parents raise their children, use them like dolls because most only care for money, the judges can make the others kids feel bad about themselves if they don't win and feel like they are not good enough, some of them have inapropriate outfits LIKE SMALL CHILDREN to wear which is gross, and i hate seeing their parents be like " OH MaH DaUgHtEr WoN tHIs BuT sTiLl NoT mAdE iT tO hErE. Some of the children might not like to go to pagents or forced to which is really sad for me. I could read since I was 4 and asked many questions when visiting the Natural history museum [ETA: I am from a working class background]. I eventually got a BSc [hons] in Neuroscience and worked in R&D labs, doing exciting and well paid work. She exposes her kid to sleazy modelling as if that is normal, I have the feeling the poor kid will have to follow that path because she's never exposed to anything cerebral. Tits out it is for the little girl in about 14 years.

There is nothing wrong with pageants. It’s how you use them in teaching your children. I hope that makes sense. What I will say is that spending $30,000 plus on pageants a year is absolutely ridiculous.
She should use that money to pay off her mortgage instead! Or at least something useful for her children! It must be so SO toxic! I mean she has MORE kids. I’d feel unwanted if I saw my mom showing so much attention to another sibling. I DOUBT she spends 30k on each child. That’s just disgusting. Poor children, they deserve better.
I agree. Once the child understands they aren't defined solely by whether they've a crown or no crown, and that they enjoy it, what's the harm? But definitely, if I were that kid I'd rather my mom was putting half that money into my college fund.

Saddest thing ever! While I work to turn the light on trafficking of woman and children, these types of events are grooming yourself, children, and the public to sensationalize it! Please watch your own production again, look at the face of your daughter as you try to convince her about her participation. Self-actualization is not born on stage, with a ribbon, or through the applause of a competitive audience. Please, look into your heart... your own beauty is calling out to be recognized, not disguised! Then look into the eyes of your sweet daughter, see who she is... right there, in front of you... innocent and a true winner. As a therapist, I volunteered to assist young pageant participants emotionally cope after their loss of a “State Beauty Pageant”. Young, beautiful woman... broken because of conditioning from their own family. Please Stop!

It’s been good to follow this video, the comments, and feelings. I would like to add to my original comment. As a mother, I stepped into that position with what I knew at the time(my conditioning). My approach to motherhood was based in love, or what I thought was love.
Life is a journey, and in most cases... when you know better, you do better! However that “knowing” is also subjective to ones conditioning. Perhaps this mother felt she was providing her child with the best she knew.
I still have to say, for me and my experience...this story is heading in a potentially scary direction, and hold to my previous comments...
However, I also believe when love is present, all things can work out! So here is to “LOVE”! And the hope that all parenting will be fashioned towards love, genuine caring, and nurturing with the best intentions for all. We all need a little Grace! Blessings ~

This is the WORST pageant ever, Actually.. all pagents are horrable because the how parents raise their children, use them like dolls because most only care for money, the judges can make the others kids feel bad about themselves if they don't win and feel like they are not good enough, some of them have inapropriate outfits LIKE SMALL CHILDREN to wear which is gross, and i hate seeing their parents be like " OH MaH DaUgHtEr WoN tHIs BuT sTiLl NoT mAdE iT tO hErE. Some of the children might not like to go to pagents or forced to which is really sad for me.

Pageants are fine. Me (14) and my sister (5) do pageants. We have done swimsuit too. There is nothing wrong with pageants. And they only let parents and friends in the pageants ( judges too). I love doing pageants and so does my sister. We are not forced to do this. My mom would prefer if we stop doing them but she let's us do what we love.
