Seeing as that's the voice they used for the Dark Urge's intro speech, I think it's safe to assume that it's his canon voice, which would explain why the poor guy sounds so tired. : (

Out of all the voices Voice 1 was the best male voice for me. Especially the calls for Karlach and Wyll really hurt me. Tav V1 sounds absolutely desperate, flabbergasted even that he might lose them. The panic rising in his voice makes my heart ache. Voice 8 was a very good female voice for losing companions. But I think what won me over was especially her call her Karlach. That call especially like Karlach is just far enough away where Tav can’t reach her-can’t save her after promising she’d do everything she could to save her from Avernus only to be taken out by some villain.
Hearing all of these back to back, I had this horrible image of Tav coming back to camp after running an errand and finding everyone slaughtered. They drop whatever they're carrying and run from one corpse to another, desperately hoping to find some signs of life, thinking "I wasn't gone for that long! How did this happen?!" and casting Speak with Animals to try and get something out of Boo, the only survivor. Alternatively, I can see a bard telling a very short story about this ugly battle: "Once there was a bad adventurer. They were so bad that everyone died! The end."
When I heard my Tav scream for Karlach, I was sooo surprised Also the fact that we just started a relationship, made me think in this direction. To put it briefly, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it happened because of relationship, because in Goblin Camp when we fought hobgoblin no one screamed no one's names when they were downed.
My Durge uses voice 4. She's a monk who tried repressing her thoughts and emotions in a failed attempt to gain control over herself. Anyways, these lines really fit someone who is finally shattering after a lifetime of unspeakable horror and repression. Edit: So I finished this playthrough a while ago and she was romancing Karlach. She respected her decisions to not return to hell. Anyways, 1:48 is leaving me the shattered one now.

As a Gale fan and user of voice 4, I'd say that it fits perfectly for character romancing Gale. It feels so broken and shocked when it comes to "Gale, no!"

I fell in love with voice 3 after picking it for my good guy-Durge on a whim (I had already used voice 5 for my first ever Tav). I love how voice 3 sounds like he's the heroic protagonist of some fantasy/80's sword and sorcery flick worrying over the safety of his beloved companions.
Voice 8 is fantastic!! S-tier voice acting, and it enriched my Tav with such personality that I would find myself investing a lot more into the roleplay aspects than I expected, even outside of cutscenes! I still like to explore for little secrets or sneak around just to hear the unique voicelines. Like, "Does this count as adventuring...?" Or "Survival is *all* that matters!!" 😁 I will definitely make a dnd character inspired by my Tav & always imagine them with this wonderful voice. Even though I can't replicate it with my own voice... 🤔
IMHO the best male voice for Tav was Voice 1 he sounded the most natural when expressing shock and fear especially when he screamed WYLL KARLACH he really sounded distraught at the thought of them dying the other male voices sounded exhausted or sounded like it was just another Tuesday of adventuring 😂 if they had only one male voice for Tav Voice 1 would’ve been the choice I’d have put in the game
The Tav in my first/main run uses Voice 7. Was fighting Raphael in Act 3 and Karlach - who I had built to be a tanky Wild Heart Barb (Bear Hart damage resist go brrrr) and was romancing in that run - actually went down for, I think, the first time ever. Hearing him scream out like that really added to the moment. Made it really easy to visualize the fear of Karlach dying there in the Hells she had worked so hard to escape from, the regret at being the one to bring her back - even though she had agreed to coming along, and the anger at Raphael for daring to hurt her. Lovely stuff. And I mean, yeah, used Hope’s Divine Intervention to get everybody healed up and revive her within a round, so ultimately low stakes, but still.
I love all the voices, Lynsey's (Voice 2) "All is well that ends... not as bad as it could have" is one of my favorite lines. But here I would say 1 and 8

one of the aspects i love so much about this game is even though it’s all the same lines the actors perform it so differently!! especially noticeable when you see the difference between fem sounding guardian and male guardian
I lost my first character to the Xbox bug right as we were about to climb the netherbrain so I just coped it as a TPK that my Tav avoided by using their Chronomancy abilities (Saving and Reloading lol) to reset the timeline at the cost of becoming the Dark Urge. Hearing this feels like losing each of them one by one
