It's interesting to note that there are also variations here and there based on approval. For example, if you have high enough approval with Astarion, when you tell him "it's not funny, it feels like I've lost a limb", he'll actually apologise and say that until they can get away from the plant, "we'll keep you safe". It's very sweet :)
Oh weird. Maybe there was an event that triggered the change instead of just approval rating. It’s hard to tell exactly why some stuff happens in this game (for me at least) 😅 hopefully someone can elaborate if they find the answer
Weird. I remember triggering it back during Early Access, but no matter what I do in the full release version I can't seem to get it to happen again :( I miss him being nice about it...
I triggered this cutscene after doing Cazzador quest (romanced him) and this what he said. Do you want to break up?? lol. I think it's just dev's oversight that the Tav could be non sorcerer before act 2 and respect to sorcerer ater that.
I kinda like how Laezel is helpful and protective in the most condesending way possible. It´s like "Well, of course I´m gonna protect you. You too useless to protect yourself after all"
I adore how this is only because you're a sorcerer. Magic has been there, in you, your entire life. You've always felt it, you've always used it... Gale is the only one who can relate to it, if a bit less since his magic is pulled from the weave, and its just so sweet seeing Karlach care for a scared, powerless Tav...
The fact Lae'zel is nothing but practical over everything she thinks and does, including concern, and then goes "so I keep on carrying you, then" is just so funny to me. Man am I the only one that likes Lae'zel that much
you are not alone. i like her because she is trustworthy. you can always rely on her words, and trust that she will answer clearly when you ask a question. i personally don’t like people that acts like you should always guess their intentions instead of explaining. that is also why i like gale so much, he actually talks. it is kind of annoying that this is something rare nowadays.
Nah, I love her! I want more autistic characters. Bonus if it's explicit and not just coded, but I get the term autism in a fantasy game might feel odd. Still, loving having someone I can understand easily and relate to.
Astarion: still can't tell if he's joking or not, as usual.😮💨 Gale: "Quack!"😅 Karlach: protective bae.🥺 Lae'zel: amateur!😂 Shadowheart: "that's usually my line" - wait, she's actually self aware?!😮 Wyll: "Meow!" - another one huh, leave it to the two humans to make questionable animal impressions.🙃
I like how Lae'zel, much like Karlach and Wyll, also offers to protect you. But unlike Karlach and Wyll, she doesn't spoil you or take any of your lip. She gets you are terrified but also realizes that now isn't the time to fall to pieces. It also means more in my opinion because she is going against all that she was taught, in her society, it would be normal to just leave us behind and let us fend for ourselves or die.
@@FauxShi A lot of people don't seem to realize this. They just see Lae'zel being mean and get their feelings hurt and don't realize that there is a character which can grow if you help her and show her that there is another way. When you romance her, she is also one of the sweeter romances. They hear Lae'zel being mean and don't bother to learn why. They don't bother paying attention to the Crèche and start to think that the way that one kid was brutally beaten and almost killed to make a example of was similar to how she was raised. She even stated that she was forced to kill several of her own clutch-mates because they tried to either killed her or tried to make her look weak. And we saw what the punishment for weaklings in Githyanki society is. Every bit of her training demands that she cut us off, get back to a Crèche and get herself cleansed. Yet she sticks with us, despite all her training demanding otherwise. It is why I like Lae'zel. She is deceptively deep.
@imaran1303 Aww I thought she had a sweet center from the moment she said “teethlings” in the Grove and had that expression on her face. I love all of the characters but still have so much of their stories to see. I look forward to seeing more of hers in future playthroughs 💚
@imaran1303 I'm midway into act 3 romancing her, and her story arc is as tragic as it is inspiring. Hope she can get a good ending after all of this. :)
I love how caring Shadowheart is. Pragmatic, sassy but still caring. I expected her to respond more offended when you tell her to mind her own business, so I was pleasantly surprised (Totally not falling more for Shadowheart wdym)
@@FauxShi It really surprises me everytime whenever I feel like she'll respond a bit prickly or like I am being dramatic. But instead, the softer side leaks out of her. I feel like she often jokes around to kind of get a bit of an idea how much you're actually worrying or feeling uncomfortable about something. And then she'd be hitting us with "Hey, it's okay. I'm sure it will be alright. And if not? Then I'm here to help you out."
I agree, I was expecting her to be more aggressive, but in a pragmatic way, she was actually very reassuring and caring about you. Its sweet she just wanted to console you about the feelings you were going through
I find a lot of Laezel oddly comforting tbh, like, I'm a complete opposite in personality, being hella emotional and sensitive but there's something about the genuineness and pragmatism about her that I can't help but love, despite her meaness lmao She's also really funny
Karlach and Wyll are absolute sweethearts, here. I wasn't really looking to romance Wyll, but dang, lines like this are something else. He is one of the few that really seems to support your character. Everyone else wants something, or makes your problems about them.
Lae’zel felt like she had the most concern out of all the companions, most likely due to her focus on practicality and physicality. Since magic is a foreign element to her, and she lacked knowledge, she was immediately concerned that you may have been poisoned, or that you were suffering from an ailment of some kind that she needed to know about. I find that incredibly heartwarming.
well personally that depends on your build. but that's also their personalities. wyll is the type of person to get stabbed and be like 'i'm fine. i can walk it off', he also has a generally calm tone that's good for comforting [the high cha]. shadowheart has seen all kinds of shit since she was a kid and is also very pragmatic. her general vibe is gently amused once she likes you.
wyll is so funny. he says the most ODDBALL things [sicker than a drunk derro??? .... thanks??? roflmao] followed by something so understanding and supportive.
People are overlooking how much Lae'zel cares when you tell her you're fine. She's not wrong. Everyone is infected, and she rightfully should know about your health. Sje can't cast magic, yet she knows something is off about the flower.
Was watching bg3 at a friend's place during a gathering. He let everyone pick a character and we'd give inputs. Soon as that infamous "Quack" as said everyone lost it faster than Tasha's Hideous Laughter

For the graphics I have a pretty light ReShade (colorfulness and tint) and then for mods I use the ab-removal mod from slimesona and the natural Astarion edit from MMaya. I’m sorry that’s probably not super helpful but the rest is just the game I think!
I think the sheer amount of power in the piece of karsite weave would be waaay too much for a sussur flower to handle, it'd still level a significant part of underdark, and Gale would still die, although maybe the radius would slightly decrease
@@JustJelleNL True, there is a whole tree though. Maybe if he gathered all the flowers or did it right in front of the tree.
