C.S. Lewis was my literary hero through most of my teens and he's still a favourite. The Narnia books were my childhood, and the Space Trilogy made me think more than almost any other book I've read. Everyone should read them.
Edit: Also holy shit I'm just finishing the video now but the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel is such a good series!

This is me trying to convince you to give us more Taylor Swift based recommendations, it'd be my wildest book dreams come true. I can't wait for enchanted books that will make me feel, happy, free, confused, and maybe even lonely, in the best way. I know all too well that a few sad prose will probably make my tears ricochet, and reading a book that's extremely sad beautiful and tragic is a very treacherous slope, but it probably won't be the last time I begin again the cycle of heartbreak. To make a long story short, it's nothing new. I'm so looking forward to books that make me feel like I'm reading in a cabin by the lakes, wrapped in my cardigan, the floors of a cabin creaking under my step as I watch the wisteria and ivy glisten outside. I will only have closure when this video is released. I'm sure all the recommendations will fill a blank space in my bookworm heart, and stick with me forever and always.

    My take:
1:10 a book that feels like warm covers when it is cold outside: House in the Cerulean Sea
1:32 found family comfort: still House in the Cerulean Sea, otherwise the Harry Potter series if you haven't read them
7:06 lesbian romance that awakens butterflies in your stomach: best I can do is the Life is Strange Before the Storm, that's a video game, tho
16:03 a book for your very last day on earth: oh dear. Are you okay?
19:41 a book that reminds me that we aren't bound to a physical and earthly existence: Under the Whispering Door
24:53 a book with characters who become your best friends: Idas Dans (Norwegian-language)
25:43 a mystery where the investigator who is not a detective or a police: the Girl on the Train. Highly recommended. Wonderful flawed protagonist.
32:26 a book where the house is also a character: An English Ghost Story
32:33 a book for when you want to delete all your social media and disconnect forever
: The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon (yes, I know it's Stephen King, check it out anyway)
33:00 i am moving to Canada / a Canadian book: Alaska, not Canada, but The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah comes to mind. Be warned it's a pretty tough read, though.
34:42 a book with a cat: A Street Cat Named Bob
36:02 something melancholic and character-driven where nothing really happens: This One Summer. Give it a read. It's a comic, though.
40:45 a book about a.i preferably where they don't turn evil: Klara and the Sun
41:05 a book with the eccentricity of the Weasley family's home: closest I can think of is Pippi Longstockings. Maybe Under the Whispering Door works, too.

The love hypothesis is probably my favorite book rn it's so cute and I am going into a stem field and want to get a phd one day and olive (the main character) is so relatable in regards to that. I think this is a great read for people who love romance in academia settings. like it was such a good read. I read it in 6 hours no joke couldn't put it down. Honestly 10/10 would recommend
For the wolf is also a really cute and interesting book it's a little red riding hood beauty and the beast kind of mash up retelling and I think this book is definitely a good read for people who like fantasy/fairytale settings. I wish there was a few things different about the romance trope but it was a good read. There are some sequels to the book however and I didn't find the book so amazing that I wanted to read the sequels but I might change my mind. I would probably say this book is a 7/10 but id recommend if ur into the those genres.
Why did I feel the need to share my opinion?? Idk lol but i am about to read a lot of these books u mentioned lol ty for this
Omg one thing I want to add that I think is a different opinion but maybe not but it feels different than what was included on this list but I feel like a lot of people like Stephen king because of his horror but let me tell y'all the dark tower series by him is a MASTERPIECE. I can't even tell y'all how crazy this series is I cried at the end and was so angry at how it ended and because it was the perfect ending to the story but it was so wrong and if that doesn't explain the emotions this book gives you then idk but imagine a sci Fi dark fantasy western with elements of romance and horror. Literally the best 11/10 everyone should read this series its somewhat lengthy but worth your time and will make you feel every emotion I mean I can't explain it

Atonement and Emma are two of my favorite books! I also loved If I Stay and Before I Fall in middle school. That really took me back! For a book that's like Twilight rec you have to read Crave by Tracy Wolf. Audible recommended it to me after I listened to Midnight Sun and I was skeptical, but now I'm almost done with book three and totally hooked! I will say that while the story is great, the love elements are pretty cringe and some of the characters in books two and three have accents that the audiobook narrator tries to mimic that are um interesting. Thanks for another great video!

I have one recommendation for the 34:42 which is The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa(I haven’t watched the movie version yet). This book is just beautiful, warm, sweet and sad at the same time. The narrating is also really interesting.
This book to me feel like sunny day in an open field when the weather is just right but you would be there alone. Definitely check it out.

*book that includes recipes or food content that is not a cookbook* I´ll like to recommend Like Water for Chocolate (Como Agua para Chocolate originally) by Laura Esquivel, a mexican author. It´s a pretty short magical realism novel, not slow-paced and very lighthearted! I think it fits perfectly in this category.
It tells you the story about Tita, a foodie and youngest of three sisters, who is in love with Pedro, but their relationship is forbidden. According to her family´s tradition, the youngest of the offspring isn´t allowed to marry and has to care for their mother until she dies. So, Pedro marries Tita´s oldest sister, to remain close to her. Things went south after that.
Honestly, I´ll recommend this to anyone, since it takes a dive in topics like revolution and liberty given it is based on the Mexican Revolution times.

"Something that will make you feel like you're alone in a lighthouse". Can also recommend The Alphabet of Light and Dark, by Danielle Wood.

I feel like reading a book that’s thrilling (but not scary and extremely graphic), medium- to fast-paced, compelling and that makes you love the characters and/or feel for them. Does someone maybe have some good suggestions?

Annihilation is definitely a good one for a moldy setting! And honestly for the lighthouse one as well. I believe the new trade paperback covers of the Ambergris series all have mushrooms too.

some of my own late recs:
32:26 a book where the house is also a character: The Gray House by Mariam Petrosyan
34:14 a gripping book that revolves around food and cooking: Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto, Vera cooks as a love language and everything seems so delicious
