- Meg and Cameraman pick up the 2023 Harley Davidson Nightster S!
Our motovlog follows Meg and Cameraman's life on two wheels. We do everything from basic installs, to bike weeks, to touring, to test rides, to riding the greatest roads in America. We look for Big Foot along the way. Our attitude is to make the most out of every moment right now and do everything we are passionate about because tomorrow is never promised. Meg rides a Harley Davidson Low Rider S. Cameraman (Michael- and no he doesn't mind the nickname) rides a Harley Davidson Breakout. We grew up in Westminster, Maryland and continue to live in Maryland in our adult lives. We frequently rides the roads on Carrol County, Frederick County, and Howard County Maryland. We also sell calendars and other channel related merch.
Cameraman and Meg own a car wash company together. Camerman has been in the car wash industry for over a decade. Meg is also an attorney who owns her own law firm.

I've owned several bikes throughout the years. Never owned a low rider. Have riden a few. They are un my opinion the best handling bike Harley has ever produced.

People that are vertically challenged often build or modify their motorcycles to accommodate their stature...one of the go to frames was the Softail frames from Atlas all you needed was a donor Sportster or Buell and you were on your way to having one great looking custom build with minimal additional parts required...
Burly offered Shocks and fork springs to lower the stock Sporty...

Meg you will love the Nightster Special . I have one the same color that I named Killa Bee . Have 8000Kms on it . I have the Sundowner Seat on it . Forward Controls on mine and the complete Adversary Collect . S&S grand National Slip on Exhaust . Was a beautiful bike till I hit Black ice on it Yesterday 5 bikes & 1 car damaged , 3 people in hospital . Good luck with the bike . Fuel range is the only problem . I get about 230 Kms to a tank . Otherwise the bike can do big miles . I did 2000km in 2 days on mine

@@lizardsonofanakie Yep. I think these are great bikes. More HP than a m8 107 and they weigh much less.
@Graham Bent yes they do . I have take now both my 107 stage 2 Softail Slim and the Nightster Special to the drag Strip both Bikes ran 12.20 . But the Slim at 109 mph . The Nightster Special at 120 mph but realised that is what the Speed limiter is set at . Once we can get a tuner we will turn off the speed limiter and run it again. The Nightster Special feels faster and is over the first half of the track then dies off due to the limiter also have to have traction control turned of because it kill the bike on the 1-2 shift . Not taking off as hard on the Nightster Special as it to do wheelstands. I love my Slim but the Nightster Special is a hole different ball game . Such a dream to ride fast and handle so good too
I like the retro style, can’t wait to see a review of the bike after a few weeks.
I think you might fall for this one, it’s nice having a bike for around town that is easy to maneuver in traffic.

The non-stop smile when you are riding this says lot. Not a rider so I am confused by the fill under the seat. I like the twin tail lights which are a little higher than many bikes. I also like the bags being well clear of the ground.

I don’t think I’ll make any modifications to it because I’m giving it back to HHarley in a month but yeah It would definitely help.

That's one of the best bikes Harley makes right now. I still wish they had made the new engines have fins (even if not functional) just for looks though... I think it would look a lot better if at least appeared like an air cooled vtwin.

I think the great thing about this bike is, a beginner wouldn’t outgrow this bike like a sporty. Many newbies bought the sporties cause they’re beginner classes were on sporties and they feared the heavy bikes.
Compared to the bikes I have owned an Ridden a Sportster is rather .. heavy imagine that? Even my 350 CC Yamaha RZ-350 will smoke an air cooled Sportster.. and My Buell has a 1203 CC engine based on the Sportster but it has 103 HP and the Sportster is 74 horse power..

beginner classes are not on sporties, they were on street 500s before being changed to the new x350ra
@@jradish I remember when 40 horsepower was a lot. All of the British 650 even with one carburetor could make 40 horsepower. That would take you to 120 miles an hour. Grand Prix levels of horsepower require Grand Prix levels of maintenance and expense even if you ride the bike like a little Honda.

I have a 2022 Nightster and done just about everything you can do to them. I love the new Nighster Gauge over the 22’s

Great production quality. The music scores had me dancing in my lazy boy chair.😊I think this bike is going to do well for HD. It is difficult for motor heads like myself to get over having a big aor cooled motor but this 975 puts out amazing HP numbers.

Hey Meg I know you have been hard to please with the mics u have tried and I’m not sure if you have found one yet but if not u need to try Red Riders setup. She likes and uses open face and can be heard clearer than anyone I have heard so far. A really cool setup

But then, us old farts like old stuff .I just bought 2022 last yr. evo 883. Cause i bought the first year evo in 1985.
So it may not be your perfect bike, but with that big smile on your face, your definitely having fun. That's all that matters...Right!!!

i got a new bike saturday, new to me anyway a 2011 Roadglide Ultra CVO with 25k miles on it. nothing traded in just added to the garage.

Harley used a lot of V rod technology on the new generation engines and more. Had to bring the brand up to date.
That's so awesome Harley is willing to loan you the bike for a month. Looking forward to the review. Hopefully Harley will open up the York Pennsylvania Factory Tour again in September and it will be available for demo rides.

I’m super curious how you and your husband handle the B29 bugs that smack your face at 65+ 😂 - every time I ride I get nailed by some that smear my full face visor something fierce, would have been right in my mouth, nose, and under the sunglasses - couldn’t imagine that without a full face - maybe I’m a wimp 😅
Some of them really hurt but usually it’s not so bad.

Your gonna love it. I’ve had mine for a couple of months. I just swapped out the exhaust for a S&S exhaust sounds beautiful. I love the look with the bags, I’d love to know what bags they are.
I’m not 100% sure but I’ll check on the bags. I’m pretty sure there are Harleys.
Just recently went to HD Frederick and sat on one of these. It weighs nothing. Has to ride like a rocket off the line. Would have loved to have had a chance to ride before returning to Arizona.

That's a very interesting bike form Harley. "The whole can be greater than the sum of the parts." is my opinion on it. On the spec sheet the Sportster S sounds like a better buy with overall better specs but after a test ride I found that a Nightster is somehow a lot better to ride. It's easy to maneuver and surprisingly quick.
A lot of design decision may looks weird at first. You'll have to test ride one to really appreciate it.
If Harley put a 1250 engine in one of this with double disc front break they'll have a phenomenal bike right there. The price may be too expensive however.

Enjoy. Would definitely be great a smaller riders. But not great fuel capacity and looks low end on finishes. Like manny things in life, it’s all subjective. Stay safe and have fun

If you put a lot of miles on that bike one day the cam chain in the engine will break and caused catastrophic engine failure. That is the downside of not having a gear-driven valvetrain like the old sportsters.
