Riding a supermoto 701 in the mountains Harley riders often appear to be stuck in space and time, but have test ridden this one and totally enjoyed it, feels great!
Supermotos are extremely sporty bikes, weight is 140 kg power is 80 hp, massive breaks, but riding a normal road does not make sense on it for me since it is so agile. Only thing for me that seems sensible are tight mountain passes. Its super fast and aggressive. I like crusing though, too 😂 so might get a cruiser to keep it a bit more relaxed.
@@NateBeck its a single cylinder big bore with ~700 cc a brilliant motor that revs till 8000 and keeps giving till >7000rpm. Its high tech water cooled 4 valves and of course overhead cam shaft. It accelerates similar if not faster than the harley. It feels raw compared to any other bike i have ridden though, well its a supermoto 😄.
Just got my Low Rider S the other day, traded in my Sporty 48 and man, what a difference!! The only thing I don't like is how muted it sounds compared to my sporty!
I know exactly what you mean! I have a sportster as well and the new M8's sound almost like they're underwater or something. I'm sure though if you put a set of pipes, intake and a tune on it it'll awake the beast. Congrats on your new wheels!
I really enjoyed mine. I bought mine in March. It was quick! And, lots of fun. However, my riding style includes many longer trips. I believe if the bulk of your riding is an hour or so (or less), this is an AWESOME bike to have. I put over 7k miles on my bike in 2 months. At that point, I decided to trade for a touring model. Since then, I have ridden over 12k miles.
My first impression was the same as yours. I thought "dang this bike is zippy and fun but longer distance, I dont know". When I go ride I like to keep it between 6-7 hours in the saddle a day and I took the LRS on a multi day trip where I did about that and it wasnt bad at all. At the 5-6 hour mark my legs started to get cramped and I could see where maybe a set of further forward mids might be better (I'm 6'2) but over all was really impressed with the mid range capabilities. That being said I never took it longer than 7 hours in one day so I can't speak past that distance per day. What touring model did you trade it in for?
In a perfect world I’d have this and a nicely modded Road Glide for longer trips. Someday when I have the time... These days I work a lot so ripping around before or after work for an hour or two makes up the bulk of my riding multiple times a week with the occasional day trip and this bike is absolutely perfect for that. I definitely don’t get the same adrenaline on a touring bike but I’ll be damned if they aren’t comfortable to ride! 😅
I just bought this bike and its the perfect bike for me it fits my riding style I'm 5'7 and the mids fit me right I don't do long trips but I know if I ever wanted to all I need is a nice fairing that would help me with the wind and some bags for storage and Id be straight.. Its a 23 so u know cruise control comes standard it can do it all..MY DREAM BIKE
What made me find my way to your channel was the Heritage videos because I’m considering trading in my softail standard for one. I’ve watched every video since; The production quality of all of your videos are absolutely amazing. The wide scenic shots remind me of Matt Laidlaw’s kind of, which I’m a big fan of his too. I really enjoy the chest mount angle. However, my favorite angle is the handlebar mount and talking to the camera with a 3/4 helmet, I don’t see anybody else doing it like that. Honestly only wish you made longer videos, maybe 12-17 minutes to help manipulate that TH-cam algorithm to your advantage! Keep up the great work brother.
Hey Coty! Thank you so much for the kind words! That’s means a lot, I love making the videos and helping riders enjoy the road. I’ve never ridden a Softail standard. How do you like it?
@@NateBeck It definitely is an awesome ride, super flickable and with it being about 650lbs with a 107 M8 it feel super torquey, but it doesn’t track the best; catches every little imperfection in the road. It’s pretty much just a smoother riding Super Glide.
Thank you so much!!! I’m running a GoPro Hero 9 Black switching between a chest mount and clamp mount. Everything’s shot in 4K then color corrected and edited for that extra pop. Congrats on picking up a RGST! You’ll have to let me know how you like it when you get it. I’ll be “fingers crossed” testing a LRST here in the coming weeks so that’ll be posted on here soon as well. Thanks for your support and please subscribe if you haven’t, it really helps out! Cheers bro!
Hi. My name is Fabio Pelegrini. I’m from Brazil and I live in São Paulo. I don’t know how to ride a motorcycle, but I’m thinking of buying a HD. I’m in doubt between the Low Rider S and Nightster models. What do you think is the best bike? Thanks!
Hello Fabio! That’s exciting you want to get into riding motorcycles! I would absolutely start with a Nightster. The Low Rider S is a very powerful motorcycle that is made for an advanced rider. The Nightster still has plenty of power and will be very fun but also more forgiving for someone who has never ridden before.
Hey Ian, thanks so much! That seat is just a seat from Harley and, while it was comfy for me, 2 up I was told wasn’t great for the passenger. I’m a big fan of Le Pera seats, always great quality and comfort.
It would be interesting to see a which is faster off the line. The Harley has much more torque (125 ftlb) but comes in way heavier at 679 lbs whereas the Triumph torque comes in at 77 but is only around 480 pounds.
@@NateBeck it would be a very interesting race for sure. I'd love to see a off the Line race and rolling race. I am very impressed with what Harley Davidson has achieved with the bike. I miss my 92 Dyna and this bike fills that void for me. Thank you for the great content mate. Subbed and safe riding 🤙
Rode one today, it didn't feel fast, I guess I'm just used to Japanese and Italian bikes, torque didn't feel much more than my 20 Road King and my brakes worked better.. It also has an odd riding position.
torque means nothing if they don't tell you how many revs you get it at, 125foot pounds of torque at 2k rpm is significantly less horsepower than at 3.5k rpm
Great review! I’ve really been fighting the temptation to buy a Low Rider S and your review isn’t helping lol. I’ve got to ask, what gloves are those? They are so sick! Keep up the great content!
Thank you so much! It’s an INSANE bike. I can’t even imagine getting one and doing a stage I or II on it. My gloves are from Tobacco Motorwear. I really like them and I’m pretty picky with my gloves. See you on the road!
Thank so much! My gloves are made by Tobacco Motorwear. They’re the best gloves I’ve found thus far. Super comfortable and continue to wear in and mold to my hands the more I use them!
Prefer polished engine, pipes and wheels...those "shotgun pipes" are heinous. Not a fan of the air cleaner style either...apart from all that...nice bike. About time H-D starting giving their bikes some lean angle...historically it's been ridiculous...M8s starting to make a difference.
I really like the 3/4's. I've tried no helmet, 1/2 helmet, 3/4, and full and feel the 3/4 offers the best protection while keeping your face out in the wind.
