  • Meg and Cameraman review the 2023 Harley Davidson Nightster Special!!! Our motovlog follows Meg and Cameraman’s life on two wheels. We do everything from basic installs, to bike weeks, to touring, to test rides, to riding the greatest roads in America. We look for Big Foot along the way. Our attitude is to make the most out of every moment right now and do everything we are passionate about because tomorrow is never promised. Meg rides a Harley Davidson Low Rider S. Cameraman (Michael- and no he dosen't mind the nickname) rides a Harley Davidson Breakout. We grew up in Westminster, Maryland and continue to live in Maryland in our adult lives. We frequently rides the roads on Carrol County, Frederick County, and Howard County Maryland. We also sell calendars and other channel related merch.
Cameraman and Meg own a car wash company together. Camerman has been in the car wash industry for over a decade. Meg is also an attorney who owns her own law firm.

As a previous owner of a 2022 Nightster, I agree with your comments; however, my bike had numerous problems from day one. Check engine light at high altitudes, no start issues from software bugs with the handlebar control modules, defective handlebar welds that could break while riding the bike, front wheel would lock up even with ABS brakes and a fuel pump that imploded at 15,000 miles. Luckily, Harley Davidson and my Dealership agreed to buy the bike back and sell me a bike at cost. I got a 2023 Street Bob. It is definitely not a sport bike, but a cruiser.

Very interesting review! Looks like this bike is more accommodating to your height if you're a petite woman. Appreciate your input on this machine.
Having owned many fast bikes over the years and decades(I'm 65 now, eeks!), know the feeling about the "need for speed" that some of us have. My bike of choice is my 2004 GL1800 Gold Wing which I've had for 19 years now, with trouble free performance, and my hot rod bike is my 1979 Honda CBX 6-cylinder sportbike with turbocharger installed on it.
Thank you for a cool video, Meg & Mike!

    Hi Meg and Michael,
So thanks for this more in-depth review ish of the Nightster. I test rode one kinda earlier this spring. There was snow on the roads, but I got to take it out around the parking lot. It handled that pretty well for the 8-10 mins. I was on it.
Here is my problem with the Nightster and the S. They don't sound like a Harley Davidson. I don't mind the looks so much. I don't care if it has some plastic parts or where the gas tank is. But I got A big problem with how it sounds compared to the price. I can get a bike very much how those sound and look for less than half the price. What is the point of it. Go get an Indian scout sixty that looks great and sounds great and save some money. Just my two cents!
Anyway, how it sounds one of My biggest deciding factors in owning a Bike. I know it's not practical, but I don't care. I mean, even that pregnant hippo steering Breakout mike rides at least sounds good...lol
    Stay Safe!!!

My take on this bike as far as the mid controls for you. Since I'm an avid viewer of your channel I see your body position while riding alot. 😊 That said, it appears that this bike because the bars are forward to have to ride scrunched over to have your seat all the way in the seat. As you stated, putting a riser and pullback bars on would probably get you back in the seat and able to let your legs stretch out a bit. Maybe I'm wrong but it looked like you really had to snuggle up to the tank to ride this bike.

Awesome review, thanks! I own the 2022 Nightster. I like your suggested customizations. Here's what I did and really thought it was great. First, I agree that Memphis Road Warrior faring with an 11-in black windshield is perfect. They don't have one for the Nightster, yet, but the Memphis shade for the 48 fits perfectly on the Nightster. It's a huge difference. Second, S&S has a slip-on exhaust for the Nightster. It sounds awesome with a DP killer removed! It actually roars like a Harley now. The S&S website has a SoundCloud of the slip-on with the Db in the Db out. I will say that it sounds much better in real life, and the SoundCloud doesn't give it justice. But the slip-on exhaust was a huge improvement. Maybe only a slight improvement in performance. Third, I moved the rearview mirrors up onto the handlebars, closer to the windshield, so I didn't have to turn my head every time I needed to check them. That was also a huge help! Otherwise, I really like the bike as well! Thanks for the review and I look forward to hearing more.

I know it has performance but not the performance or sound I want. Shame because it is a good looking bike. Except that exhaust. Need a good looking 2 to 1 or true duals. Not to put down or anything just sharing knowledge. I notice how you had spelled it, and the context in which the word was used. The proper use and spelling of the English language is something I take pride in.
