@SamanthaLarsen So grateful 🙏. Can I ask how much CBD oil per lbs you use? My small cavapoo has a liver shunt and is becoming anorexic...she loves eggs so fed her these today with Brocolli and lactose solution.

Thanks so much I created this for my dog that had liver disease but it’s absolutely delicious and healthy for all dogs I totally eat it with Peter it’s delicious and it’s vegetarian
Thank you for caring and sharing so much information about a liver diet for our beloved pooches. I cook for my Sean o'Boy who is a blind diabetic with pancreatitis and liver disease. It's a hard balance because each disease has its own nourishment needs. Your Buddys Green Eggs & Yammy might work for him on days I alternate to soothe his liver. Peter Pan is adorable, he makes me smile, and appears to be a bit of ham. Best of luck to both of you!
Thanks for the reply i think this recipe will work for your blind diabetic pup but u can use less starch for the diabetes and more protien but check with your vet 1st but i really think that will work :) i also would stick to white potota less sugar than sweet and less sugar than rice
Scarlett & Monique & Wyatt So appreciate you watching thank you so much the funny thing is that’s actually for a human baby but since I treat him like a human baby he goes in the human carrier LOL plus I can’t find a better one honestly for when I’m cooking if you ever see anything you think appropriate please let me know! I really appreciate you watching I’m doing 13 episodes for season one and season two is going to be a little bit different
Samantha Larsen Haha will do !! I thought that was very similar to a human baby carrier ., turns out it is .. hehe 😂 well he is your baby after all so makes sense 😊😊😊
Scarlett & Monique & Wyatt right lol The only good dog carrier I know it is called canine sack but that’s basically when you’re riding a bike we’re hiking and they sit in the back but that wouldn’t work for cooking LOL
AMA’s Home Living Thank you I have a question can you understand from the video that I cook so that I can eat the meal with my dog that you can actually share the meals with the dog please let me know because I don’t want people to be confused I want to be very easy to understand as a build up my following
AMA’s Home Living OK thank you for that I’m working on making a new little intro that will totally explain what I’m doing but thank you for confirmation so happy were friends have a blessed Friday
Wow this is so informative I really appreciate this knowledge , I have 3 fur babies of my own and we want to keep them as healthy as possible...thank you for sharing 💞
If you boil the protein you eliminate 75% of the phosphorus in meat. Dogs need protein, just not the phosphorus. Use crushed egg shells as another binder for the phosphorus.
Thank you 😋it is we eat it together and its vegetarian protien from the eggs is delish its one of my favorites :) oxo and helps his liver and all dogs with liver issues xo thanks for watching
Great Info. Thx for the video. I also have started feeding my 12 yr old pup homemade meals. I read feeding her 4 times a day vs twice a day is easier on their liver. Small meals 4 times a day is what I am doing now. Comments ?
that is so great to hear Phil, i agree that the small meals are way easier on the liver xooxox may I ask what are your recipes your doing to help liver? have you tried mine yet - what are your thoughts? do u do supplements like milk thistle for liver too???
Poor Peter. He is lucky to have you taking great care of him. Your videos are really helpful. I rescued a chihuahua about a month ago. She is a very old girl. She was very neglected. I think someone dropped her off out here in the woods where I live. It happens often. Anyway, I took her to my neighbor, she nursed her back to health. The little dog was in really bad shape. She weighed about 4 lbs. when I found her. Now she is 6 lbs.! I subbed.
Creek Walker God bless you for saving that little pup and I’m glad you put 2 pounds on her, I said you also either this morning or yesterday do you see my name I hope I did the settings correctly God bless you for helping dogs if I lived near you I would scout the words and be rescuing these dogs and we would take them to the local rescue group God bless you for what you do for animals you’re a gem🧡🧡
@@SammyLarsenComedy I saw that you subbed. Thank you. My channel about my life out here. It's not an easy life I live, as I am disabled with arthritis. I will try to do a video once a day...maybe twice . Have great day!
Any idea what I could do for my dog who has to be low fat because of chronic pancreatitis in addition to the liver issues? I always worry about keeping things balanced and complete. Balance it doesn't have any supplements for low fat. My vet is useless and Just Food For Dogs wasted my money for a custom diet that wasn't good.

Hello thanks for great question! Green Italian zucchini and yellow zucchini and green squash and yellow squash all work amazing!! Zucchini and squash or both filled with water and Vitamins so they can all be interchangeable and I’m sure your pop will love the flavors!!
@@rosalieweatherhead2179 another great question!!!! So for peter I usually do not as he eats so many different foods and I get his blood work done frequently because of epilepsy BUT BUT BUT I DID use www.Balanceit.com “ balance it” supplemental vitamins & minerals when I cooked for BUDDY Because he had to eat all the liver disease home cooking and nothing else so I didn’t want him to miss out nutrition wise so I added Balance it. They have a wonderful website and the veterinarian who created it he’s a nutritionist and he’s absolutely amazing his name is Chris
I looked at the Balance site and there are many products and its very confusing to figure out which is the right one. My Gabby slowly stopped eating and drinking last week and we ended up in the emergency vet friday where they rehydrated her and now she drinks but isn't consuming much food still. I have been giving her Rebound and Under the Weather and bone broth in her water. Sometimes she will eat a tiny bit of chicken and last night some chicken hearts but she refuses even her favorite foods like carrots. Cooked or raw. Tried eggs, no. Canned food, no. She seems hungry at night but nothing seems to appeal to her. Vet gave me pepcid and probiotic and aniti-nausea meds with Sam-e for her. I'm at my wits end. I don't know what to do. They won't give me an appetite stimulant unless she gets an ultrasound and for that I need to drop her off at 7 and leave her there for an unknown period of time until their technician comes in. She's already stressed enough. I just can't do that to her.
@@rosalieweatherhead2179 Oh my God I’m so sorry to hear this the product I use for Peter was just a simple supplement it had the plug on it and I just bought that one. What exactly does your baby have a sheet in liver disease?? Try hand feeding scrambled egg with
Great information... thanks for all. My 8-year-old Papillon was diagnosed with liver disease. She is skin and bones (good appetite) but has a huge bloated stomach. My regular vet was draining which helped but now it's required once a week and the fluid is not coming off. I am heading to a liver specialist later in the week. Side note, she also started seizures about a year ago and is now on Zonisamide twice a day along with Lasix, which we just started. I feed anything she will eat... right now she loves the chub from Freshpet. Would a diet change help with the fluid/bloating?
Thank you for reaching out, you have to consult your vet first. Ask your vet if they will allow you to cook for your 8 year old baby. Diet is a very important key with all health issues and every vet has told me that from my years of cooking for special needs pets :) after you consult your vet you can reach out to my personal email and create recipe to help:) I have vets i work with also :)
@@SammyLarsenComedy The specialist said 100%, not liver disease. I wish I'd have gone to this vet 1st! She feels the same thing the mother has, Protein Losing Enteropathy PLE which has been easy to control with diet. They are running a few more tests, going to send her home with steroids, B12, etc. Out of all, it could have been, PLE is the easiest to live with.
Great informational video, I’ am currently struggling trying to figure out what to feed my 14 year old baby girl Maltese that has been diagnosed with - heart failure, liver failure and kidney failure. Hi Samantha! Thanks for your wonderful and informative video! My dog just got diagnosed with liver disease 😢... thankful I found your channel! One question for you... I count find where to learn how much to feed her... she’s a rescue lab... or looks like one -she’s 75 lbs would you know where I can find guidance for that ? Thanks again!! 🙏
Glad to hear to rescued your lab mix and with the right nutrition, meds and care your pup will maintain her awesome quality of life!!! First did yoru vet rec. a basic liver perscription food like royal canine or hills? as a back uo i always had those on hand both dry and canned in case you cant cook- my dog preferred royal canon and seems they have never been recalled so thats a good perscription food to hand on hand. My dogs liver disease was inoperable liver shunts and he could not process heavy meats and the best diet for ohim was this one in the video with the eggs potato squash. chicken and white fish good also but eggs are the most easily digestible protien on the planet for dogs:) Secondly and VERY IMPORTANT: LACTULOSE!!! LACTULOSE ON EVERY MEAL AND A DOSE IN AM & PM!!! VERY IMPORTANT- the vet can sell you lactulose at 20/ small tube but you can get it generix at Ralphs pharmacy (your vet can call in it ) and its like 5 bucks for 3 times the size of the one from the vet!!! saves you money and its very important! its a laxative basically but not harmful as its not absorbed by the kidneys so no ill affects from the sugar in it. 3rd: Buddy was always prone to getting bladder infections, skaes and stomach aches from his liver disease so its good to have a antibitic your pup can take of this happens they seem to get infections more than a dog without liver disease. 4th are you on FB?? as u can DM me there -samantha larsen if u have moew questions:) let me know im here to help!!!!
@@SammyLarsenComedy oh my God thanks so much for your reply! Will do... for some reason my vet doesn’t say much... any realistic suggestions... Hello! How many times a day do you feed your dog? I am looking at cooking for my dog and I feel so lost. I don't know how much protein she should be having. She is a Yorkie and weighs 12 pounds, she was eating low fat foods and now that she is hepatic, the vet switched her over to low protein food. AH I don't know where to begin :(
hi Samantha firstly feel free to reach me on my facebook messeger look me up its just my name SAMANTHA LARSEN and i also have a bisiness page "chowtime with sammy larsen" both are good to contact me --- that way we can easily go back and forth, if you don't have facebook u can email my personal email : samanthajlarsen@gmail.com. I know at 1st it can feel overwhelming but you'll get the hang of it. My buddy weighed about 12 pounds and his liver was very bad so this is exactly what i did : try my best to break meals into 4 per day if you can. Best small amounts so the liver can digest easier. You want to do 30% ish percent protein (EGGS, CHICKEN, WHITE FISH, and or COTTAGE CHEESE) with 30% ish watery vegetables (good 4 liver cleanse veggies like all squash & zucchini & green beans) and 30% mineral rich starches like sweet potato, golden potato and red potatoes, yams also but they are super high in sugar so once in a while. . I prefer potato over rice for hepatic health because potato has many movie vitamin and minerals compared to rise. I used BALANCE IT ON TOP OF FOOD. "Balance it" is a food supplement for dogs made special for people that do cook all meals for thier dogs so they do not miss out on any vitamins or minerals. here is the website you can order it here : secure.balanceit.com/info/videos_aboutbi.php I gave buddy MILK THISTLE SUPPLEMENT TO help clean his liver you can but it online or from vet. Now regarding the low fat, my vet had said with BUddy he COULD have high fat so we added coconut oil into his food, from what i understand and have read and heard over and over os its OK fro hepatic dogs to high fat, not alot but many don't eat enough and the high fat like cheese or coconut oil can be ok for them. I would start off with the recipe i use here for your baby, she if she likes and i would make a weeks worth you can add some grated cheddar cheese or parm on top to get her intersted because I know its hard to get them to eat sometimes. So for a basic guide i would do the 30% protein, 30% veggies, 30% starches. You can ask your vet is thats OK but thats exactly what I did for Buddy. If I gave him too much protein he got sick:( Shakes, etc etc. He used to get belly upset frequently (many hepatic dogs do) so we gave him 1/2 peptic. yes the human one just cut it in half:) He used to throw up bile very common for liver dogs and even healthy dogs and cats throw up sometimes. thats a good guide for now but again feel free to reach out anytime and let me know how its going xo :) I LITERALLY STARTED TO DO THis show to help people like you and let you know your not alone and there is always hope to give your baby the best quality of life and home cooking will do that xoox
Just found your channel. What about wild caught salmon that is unsalted? My boy's liver enzymes were elevated, around 1,000. And since he had had toxoplasmosis a few years ago, and it had reared its ugly head a year after first diagnosis, vet treated him with antibiotics because assumed it was the toxoplasmosis rearing its ugly head again, because same symptoms. In the past he's had pancreatic issues and at one time was on the science hills I/d. I don't trust dog food industries... so many recalls causing so much suffering. Also, few months ago bloodwork showed hypothyroidism. I don't want to give him the meds for hypothyroidism because they can cause more problems. So cut out sweet potatoes.... Found out that sweet potatoes can cause thyroid issues in dogs. And I was giving him sweet potatoes once or twice a week. As well as Riley's organic non gmo sweet potatoes dog cookies. But now I won't give him sweet potatoes because I don't want more thyroid issues. While he was on the antibiotics because of the elevated liver enzymes, with same symptoms he had had with toxoplasmosis, I gave him more chicken than usual... babying him. Because he was also prescribed tramadol for pain that he had arthritis in his back below shoulder blades. Now his kidneys went from no issues in bloodwork to one month later with the increase intake of chicken, boiled, boneless, skinless breast, to the beginning of kidney disease. So read that chicken and turkey along with organ meats are higher in phosphates than other meats. So saw that wild caught salmon is lower in phosphates and with quite a bit of D3, which is good for the body. Also give him organic carrots, organic pumpkin puree but not as much as I was, because of the phosphates. And organic rice. And organic green beans. Thanks. Wishing good health to all.
hello, great email, i understand what your going through please email my personal email : samanthajlarsen@gmail.com i have so much to say have to reach out to my phosphate expert !!
Yes yes yes. My little Maltese has the liver shunt. It is now about 7 years later. I decided to take her off of the prescription liver food due to the fact it has Organ meat in it which makes absolutely no sense. Which is terrible because of the copper content. Even her vitamin I make sure that there is no beef or pork added to it and absolutely no copper in the vitamins. I make homemade chicken, lots of vegetables Incorporated in it. Olive oil. She does for now get the dry liver food mixed with homemade food. Not the wet food anymore. Danamarin, plus lactulose, milk thistle tincture, dandelion tincture, which I purchase on Amazon. I think she is doing so much better. Very important to read the labels that there are no ingredients containing copper. Sweet potato she loves, all kinds of vegetables, and fruit. 🙏🤞
I would do heavy lactulose with every meal it makes a big difference put it on her food (not so she has the runs) but so everything's flowing in her system. I also idea to cook eggs fro my Buddy and whitefish bot easy to digest xooxox thank you fro taking care of your baby so well GOD bless xooxoxooxoxox
Just found out my 2 year old has liver failure because he has many shunts around his liver :( The reason for it is still unknown, we're getting a surgical biopsy on his liver next week (his liver is too small for the ultrasound biopsy) to figure out what is the underlying issue to hopefully prescribe correct medicine. The previous vet said we didn't need to change his diet but i don't believe that's right, he didn't even say any of the things you mentions - willing to try anything for our little dude. He's SO young and still not showing bad symptoms of anything, we brougth him in because of a cough and then checked his blood because he had a GI ulcer earlier in the year and his liver was problematic even though he's still super hyper and loves eating and life. Really want to try your recipe as we want to keep him around for as long as possible and keep him upbeat. He loves his prescription food, but it doesn't cater to this new liver disease life.. It was for sensitive stomaches and it has duck.. will be picking up these ingredients tomorrow for his dinner! Thank you so much, if you have any other recommendations of foods for liver disease, please let me know thank you!
most vets DO NOT GIVE "OUT OF THE BOX " ANSWERS JUST TEXTBOOK ANSWERS YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR OWN research:) sorry to hear this but dont give up hope you can privately email me anytime samanthajlarsen@gmail.com i know all about shunts my other dog Buddy had inoperable shunts! they gave BUddy months to live I gave him like 8 more YEARS so DO NOT LOOSE HOPE HERE ARE THE 5. MAIN THINGS TO DO YOURSELF 1. LACTOLUSE IN AM, PM ON ALL ALL HIS MEALS (YOU GET GET IT cheaper at your grovery store pharmacy than at the vet but more you need in case) google LACTULOSE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS LACTULOSE TO KEEP HIS LIVER CLEAN AND KEEP THINGS MOVING INTERNALLY 2. HOME COOK OR USE ROYAL CANON PERSCRIPTION FOR LIVER DISEASE 3. HAVE ANTIBIOTICS ON HAND in case he hets UTI thats commonm with liver disease as is shaking thaats when thier belly hurts 4. NO RED MEAT!!!!!!! only chicken eggs whitefish as protein (IM NOT SURE ABOUT DUCK AND LIVER DISEASE AS DUCK IS HEAVY to process but i think its ok) ALSO ultrasounds suck bascially waste of money $$$$. MRI much better and blood work/labs 5. get MILK THISTLE TO CLEAN AND DETOX HIS LIVER his ulcer maybe due to liver and acid build up going back into stomach and intestines/ "sensitive stomach" is not the best food he needs FRO FOR LIVER DISEASE FOOD, JUST finish off that food or keep it on hand as a back up when you cook for him add watery vegtables like italian squash, yellow squash, mexican squash they all clean the liver
@@SammyLarsenComedy THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of this. I am so glad I found you, I am starting to add home cooked food into his meals now to gradually introduce it to him. but I definitely think you're right - if I can't eat it, why should he! I got some milk thistle and will get the lactoluse!
Really thank you for the recipe 🙏🏻, can i ask how much do i need to feed my mix breed 11 years Luna with 41 pounds. It's 1 recipe just for one meal? My dog eat grain free for 1 years, and she belly become bigger and bigger, out of breath and bald spot. the vet say maybe she has cushing disease so the vet said, she must do x-ray in bigger vet. The X-ray results said that she has swollen liver and pneumonia. My vet recommendation me to feed her with royal cannin hepatic. But im want to tries to make a homecook for her. So i tries homecook for her liver from topdog recipe ( Ingredient : 1/2 cup pumpkin, 1 boiled egg, 4/5 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup chicken breast, 1/2 cup cooked oatmeal) and i always add gingermeric gravy from Rodney habib.
I haven’t heard term “swollen liver” but if u feed my recipe that I used for my dog that had liver disease /. If your baby is 41 pounds you can feed this recipe as her meal in 2 servings for the while day. If she seems hungry you can add more next day but it’s good to keep the components simple and small so thier liver can digest:)
Thank you for your replay Samantha, im cek Luna medical book my vet said its cronic liver disease, pneumonia, and suspect chusing disease cause she has baldness.
Are you against rice for dogs with liver disease? I have just started making my homemade dog food for my liver diseased chihuahua who was previously on Hills l/d prescription diet food for about a year and half. I switched bc they are mysteriously out of stock everywhere of it right now. But I think I made the best decision and so far I am happy I was forced into it instead of just switching to the RC one. She does monthly blood tests to keep on top of it and her labs last month were the best ever, I had been only feed the homemade for 2 weeks into that lab so we will see the true test at this next appointment, fingers crossed! Anyways, I was wondering about the rice question. I do a mixture of basmati white rice, basmati because it has lower arsenic levels -which I just found out when starting this rice even had arsenic so that makes me question-, and sweet potato. I will start incorporating golden potatoes too bc I didn't realize the health benefits of that as well. my recipe ingredients are something like this(all organic): Sweet potato Basmati Rice Broccoli Zucchini Green bean carrot boiled eggs tiny bit of chicken breast for flavor and basically to make a broth then she also eats watermelon everyday as a snack and with night meds. I am still working on my ratios of the ingredients making sure enough protein is there but not too little. I have tried cottage cheese but she doesn't love it so I might mix it in my next batch to see if its cooked in if she accepts it better. Thanks for sharing, I love learning all that I can on this and you seem to have done a lot of research which helps us food making newbies tremendously!
Hello @Gracie06 great questions. Im sorry your baby was diagnosed with liver disease but believe me the home cooking will help tremendously. Im not opposed to rice I used potatoes because my Buddy was so skinny and potato can keep weight on also potato has way more vitamins and minerals compared to rice. Rice isn't bad for dogs at all, its just with Buddy who had serve liver disease I needed to keep weight on him and the sweet potato , all potato were great with helping keep his weight steady :) I love the recipe you make, my buddy was better with eggs than chicken as well but I did like what you did and would give chicken too to get him going so to say:) I know carrots green beans zucchini are AMAZING for liver dogs as they have high water content and thats so great in helping them process the foods. Is your baby on LACTULOSE ?????? Buddy took it everyday of his life :) you can reach me direct on Facebook messenger (Samantha Larsen) of feel free to email my personal email : samanthajlarsen@gmail.com thats so great she eat s watermelon so healthy and a high water content:) With Buddy I used to do approximately 30% - 35% protein thats all he could take than split the rest with 40 %veggies and 25% ish starch. Buddys liver was really bad hes was a rescue so he could not take alot of protein he was basically a vegetarian:) Your baby probably has a healthy liver and can have 40% protein but you have to ask you vet:) I also used an amazing supplement you add to the home meals full of vitamins and minerals called BALANCEIT YOU CAN CALL them the owner helped me sooo much !! ok lmk if u have any questions xo all the best sammy secure.balanceit.com/ez/index.php?rotator=NewEz

My girl, Paisley, has been on the homemade for almost 2 months now for her liver disease and her liver level ALT has returned to normal, although her ALKp is still elevated but just slightly and overall is doing great. I held out getting the BalanceIt supplement until now to have a base bloodwork month without and now will be ordering it soon. Do you put buddy's into his food every meal? I usually make a large batch of her food and mash it together and freeze it then pull out a daily portion each night for the next day. I am reaching out the company to see if it can be frozen into her food or if its better added daily fresh. @@qumbie06 I don’t edit the balance it to all his food but when I do I edit on fresh after it’s thought out I think the maximum benefit is that way I think freezing it you lose some of the benefits Also what I found works best is put the lactulose directly onto the food but I would also administer in the a.m. so it’s in their system put the lactulose on the food and then I would give some at night Basically the same thing I did with my dog buddy that needed lactulose with liver disease I do with my dog Peter except he’s getting CBD for his seizures and other issues and again I do it in the morning I put it on his food and then I give it to him at night so it’s always in his system thank you so much for your replies I know all about all the hard work that goes into a dog with liver disease and keeping them healthy and I think you’re doing absolutely amazing
Thanks so much for sharing. You are doing such a great job, and sorry for the loss of your other fur baby. Thank you for sharing the meals and products. I have a 10 month Yorkie poo who had slightly elevated liver levels but the vet I first went to was sketchy and they were not consistent with their plan for her (they advised I do not get her spayed then said they could spay her and give her a biopsy for liver…for $2k so red flags). My poor baby experienced diarrhea for awhile and was dehydrated and VEG (vet emergency group which I highly recommend for all emergencies if avail in your city) but now is experiencing loss bowels. I’ve been feeding her a home cooked meal with chicken (ground or breast), rice, green peas and spinach. I have to start adding potatoes, carrots, eggs and zucchini into her diet and probably less chicken at this point but completely ditched kibble and any other store bought food for her. I’m vegan, and before I got my puppy I said my dog would be too, and looks like she’ll at least be vegetarian now. Praying she doesn’t have a liver shunt but have to take her for more tests now to get her on appropriate meds if so but will keep feeding her appropriate foods. I have to start making homemade treats for her. I’m so nervous at this point to give her the old store bought treats (except for greenies). Thank you again for sharing!

If you boil the protein you eliminate 75% of the phosphorus in meat. Dogs need protein, just not the phosphorus. Use crushed egg shells as another binder for the phosphorus.

I subbed.
Creek Walker God bless you for saving that little pup and I’m glad you put 2 pounds on her, I said you also either this morning or yesterday do you see my name I hope I did the settings correctly

Do you add a vitamin and mineral supplement?
@@rosalieweatherhead2179 another great question!!!! So for peter I usually do not as he eats so many different foods and I get his blood work done frequently because of epilepsy BUT BUT BUT
I DID use www.Balanceit.com
“ balance it” supplemental vitamins & minerals when I cooked for BUDDY
Because he had to eat all the liver disease home cooking and nothing else so I didn’t want him to miss out nutrition wise so I added Balance it.

Alexandra Dee Hey beautiful lady ❤️
Diet is a very important key with all health issues and every vet has told me that from my years of cooking for special needs pets :) after you consult your vet you can reach out to my personal email and create recipe to help:)

My dogs liver disease was inoperable liver shunts and he could not process heavy meats and the best diet for ohim was this one in the video with the eggs potato squash. chicken and white fish good also but eggs are the most easily digestible protien on the planet for dogs:)
Secondly and VERY IMPORTANT: LACTULOSE!!!
4th are you on FB?? as u can DM me there -samantha larsen

You want to do 30% ish percent protein (EGGS, CHICKEN, WHITE FISH, and or COTTAGE CHEESE)
with 30% ish watery vegetables (good 4 liver cleanse veggies like all squash & zucchini & green beans)
and 30% mineral rich starches
like sweet potato, golden potato and red potatoes, yams also but they are super high in sugar so once in a while.
. I prefer potato over rice for hepatic health because potato has many movie vitamin and minerals compared to rise.
I used BALANCE IT ON TOP OF FOOD. "Balance it" is a food supplement for dogs made special for people that do cook all meals for thier dogs so they do not miss out on any vitamins or minerals. here is the website you can order it here :
secure.balanceit.com/info/videos_aboutbi.php
I gave buddy MILK THISTLE SUPPLEMENT TO help clean his liver you can but it online or from vet.
So for a basic guide i would do
the 30% protein, 30% veggies, 30% starches.
Thanks.
Wishing good health to all.
hello, great email, i understand what your going through please email my personal email : samanthajlarsen@gmail.com
i have so much to say have to reach out to my phosphate expert !!
My Dog has Cushings disease ...there is almost nobody that understands I'm treating him natural..but now it's time to te order...

Thank you so much, if you have any other recommendations of foods for liver disease, please let me know thank you!
most vets DO NOT GIVE "OUT OF THE BOX " ANSWERS JUST TEXTBOOK ANSWERS YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR OWN research:)
sorry to hear this but dont give up hope

i know all about shunts my other dog Buddy had inoperable shunts! they gave BUddy months
to live I gave him like 8 more YEARS
so DO NOT LOOSE HOPE HERE ARE THE 5. MAIN THINGS TO DO YOURSELF
1. LACTOLUSE IN AM, PM ON ALL ALL HIS MEALS (YOU GET GET IT cheaper at your grovery store pharmacy than at the vet but more you need in case) google LACTULOSE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS LACTULOSE TO KEEP HIS LIVER CLEAN AND KEEP THINGS MOVING INTERNALLY
2. HOME COOK OR USE ROYAL CANON PERSCRIPTION FOR LIVER DISEASE
3. HAVE ANTIBIOTICS ON HAND in case he hets UTI thats commonm with liver disease as is shaking thaats when thier belly hurts
4. NO RED MEAT!!!!!!!
only chicken eggs whitefish as protein (IM NOT SURE ABOUT DUCK AND LIVER DISEASE AS DUCK IS HEAVY to process but i think its ok)
ALSO
ultrasounds suck bascially waste of money $$$$. MRI much better and blood work/labs
5. get MILK THISTLE TO CLEAN AND DETOX HIS LIVER
his ulcer maybe due to liver and acid build up going back into stomach and intestines/
"sensitive stomach" is not the best food he needs FRO FOR LIVER DISEASE FOOD, JUST finish off that food or keep it on hand as a back up
when you cook for him add watery vegtables like italian squash, yellow squash, mexican squash they all clean the liver

Also royal canon is great food but cooking fresh always better
If your baby has liver disease best to do 4 small meals Dailey// you can email me personally direct to email or my Facebook
Samanthajlarsen@gmail.com
I will start incorporating golden potatoes too bc I didn't realize the health benefits of that as well. my recipe ingredients are something like this(all organic):
Sweet potato
Basmati Rice
Broccoli
Zucchini
Green bean
carrot
boiled eggs
tiny bit of chicken breast for flavor and basically to make a broth
then she also eats watermelon everyday as a snack and with night meds.
Rice isn't bad for dogs at all, its just with Buddy who had serve liver disease I needed to keep weight on him and the sweet potato , all potato were great with helping keep his weight steady :)
I love the recipe you make, my buddy was better with eggs than chicken as well but I did like what you did and would give chicken too to get him going so to say:) I know carrots green beans zucchini are AMAZING for liver dogs as they have high water content and thats so great in helping them process the foods. Is your baby on LACTULOSE ??????
Buddy took it everyday of his life :) you can reach me direct on Facebook messenger (Samantha Larsen) of feel free to email my personal email : samanthajlarsen@gmail.com
thats so great she eat s watermelon so healthy and a high water content:)
With Buddy I used to do approximately 30% - 35% protein thats all he could take than split the rest with 40 %veggies and 25% ish starch. Buddys liver was really bad hes was a rescue so he could not take alot of protein he was basically a vegetarian:) Your baby probably has a healthy liver and can have 40% protein but you have to ask you vet:)
I also used an amazing supplement you add to the home meals full of vitamins and minerals called BALANCEIT YOU CAN CALL them the owner helped me sooo much !! ok lmk if u have any questions xo all the best sammy

She is on the lactulose every 8 hours as well as amoxidrop( amoxicillin), ursodiol ( for bile acids her body doesn't produce naturally and denamarin everyday. I feel like I have done hundreds of hours of research on all of this and still am a newbie-its so fascinating and overwhelming at the same time!, thank you for any advice as it seems like you have done a lot of great research as well!
@@qumbie06 I don’t edit the balance it to all his food but when I do I edit on fresh after it’s thought out I think the maximum benefit is that way I think freezing it you lose some of the benefits
