    I just made it!!! And my dog approved! She has been so picky lately and I was concerned for her. She was always sad because she would smell our food but was stuck with her kibbles. I really did not know what to do. Thanks for sharing. I cooked mines in our ninja foodie.

      If you LOVE your dog--DON'T give it a lifetime of KIBBLE. In most cases Cooked human food will prevent ANY type of canine cancer and your dog will be happier and healthier. I had 3 other dogs that all passed before the age of 10. Now I'm cooking for an 85lb German Shepherd. It's a lot of work but It's a labor of love if you love your dog. Do you feed your dog kibble? How would you like to eat (insert your dog food here), for every single meal for your entire life ?

    I would add some greens like Kale or spinach, Brocolli or Brussel sprouts. Add some blueberries or cranberries...those are antioxidants. I would replace rice with Quinoa (healthier grain and non allergen). Dog food should be low carb. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

      Do a little research, I'm not sure if Kale is good for dogs or not, Kale is high in Oxalic Acid. I've had kidney stones from too much Oxalic Acid. Some say it's ok, and some do not recommend it, so to keep your dog safe, do some research. I use blueberries too, you can also use mushrooms, shiitake are best but expensive, I just use button mushrooms (Cremini), they're high in vitamin D.

      @@jumpercable20 Look into Dino Kale also called Lacinato Kale. Those are medium oxalate. Avoid the curly ones. And of course taking once a while is okay not everyday if one has kidney stones.

    First of all I wanted to say thank you for this vlog. I have a pure bred Siberian Husky. She is very picky about what she like to eat. She won't even eat her food at all. So I went to the store and get that stuff. Boy she was one happy camper to eat all of her homemade food. I think she's more of liking her chicken than the turkey ground meat. Hope she will keep eating her food. I just don't like to see her being a very food picker. I have never seen a dog who is so picky about any kind of food in my lifetime. Thanks again and hopefully she will just keep on eating what I'm trying to do for my dog. Just want the best for my baby who is only 2 years old and please her what she is happy with her eating. I've tried everything to make her happy and dislike not seeing her not wanting to eat for some kind of certain dog food. Hope it stays that way. Thanks again!

      Thank you for your message! I understand how frustrating the t can be when dogs won’t eat commercial food, and that is one of the reasons I started making all my dogs’ food from scratch over a decade ago. I’m glad to hear your Husky enjoyed the homemade food. You are a wonderful dog mama. I’d also encourage you to check with your vet at some point to make sure there are not other factors for why your baby is picky. Thanks again and all my best to your and your dog!

    What a sweet and lucky dog you have, to get home cooked food! Great video, the only thing I couldn't determine is what is the setting you use on the Instant Pot.......is it "Pressure Cook"? I used to make dog food in the old-style, locking lid pressure cook that you put directly on the stove. Worked great but wore that sucker out, and upgraded a decade later to the Instant Pot. Thank you!

    I love your recipes and can't wait to try this one. I especially like that you used chicken thighs for this, I bought some this week because the price was so good. I did have a question. Currently I'm supplementing our homemade dog food with a kind of expensive supplement. I did see that you use calcium and omega 3's, are those the only supplements you use? Also, if you don't have lentils, is there a proper substitute? Thanks!

    Very tasty dinner for a pup, I am going to make this, thank you... I worry because lentils are anti-nutrient, I wonder maybe if I soak for them or quick boil them for 2 mins to make the anti nutrients to come out then proceed as you have?

    • @BarkingGoodChef

      I think that’s fine to try. I hope your dog enjoys it as much as mine!

    • @dmgcaster904
      @dmgcaster904 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lentils aren't an anti nutrient. They contain a self protecting substance called lectins that might cause some digestive issues if you eat them raw. The lectins are completely neutralized by the time it is cooked fork tender. Having said that, I not sure that beans are necessary as they are mainly a source of protein for humans and you get plenty of protein with the meat.
