I should be working, but instead I am watching a 2 year old video of a man I don't know, carefully using a guitar pick to saw through a layer of a display on a $16 watch I don't own.

And I'm happily surprised that you're using one of my 3D design (the adapters). I also made a newer version with springbars on the outer ends to easily install MN Strap.

@@watchncarry9593 I think that the DATE & TIME on this CASIO AE1200 & AE1300 watches should be a larger size. There is to much wasted real estate on these two watches. The DATE and TIME on the CASIO model W96H-1BV is a much larger size. I can see the TIME on it easily from 1 meter away !
The CASIO W96H-1BV is my favorite digital watch because it shows the TIME, DATE, DAY and YEAR all on the face without having to push any buttons for selection. You look at this watch and it shows everything all at once.... though the CASIO AE1200 & AE1300 watches are better when traveling to different countries.

55:34 I agree, it gets on my nerves whenever I'm checking some of my casios at night and the sides don't have polarizing film. Looks sloppy.
It would be good if you modified it to "Negative display", and changed the three circles to blue, yellow and red.Like street traffic lights in Japan😘

Yes, you can use steel bands, as long the endlinks arent too thick and theyre 18mm.
If u want tonuse a strap larger than 18mm, there are 18-22mm strap adapeters made jaysandkays and sold on their Ebay store. I have a separate video on those strap adapters.
Great job, Id definitely like to try this! Will the polarizer not peel once you have the edge free and something to hold on to? I cant help thinking that the sawing action of trying to remove this with a pick is what leaves half the glue behind?

Отличный способ крепления широкого ремешка, да и мод самый лучший из всех, что находил в интернете! 18 мм на этих часах не смотрится никак. Я тоже на принтере подобные переходники под 22 мм распечатывал.

If you use acetone on a q-tip instead of goo-gone would that just ruin the plastic instead addition to removing the glue?

I have two questions though, Can a heat gun be used to remove the top first (original) polarizing layer? (i have my doubts it might be too much heat and melt the display or the layers)
Also can WD40 be used to remove glue instead of Goo gone?

I have no idea if a heat gun or wd40 will work. Goo gone or goof off seems to be what most modders do with this typenof project.

I will be trying my first ever negative display mod on a new Casio W-737H (1A2VDF). I did mod a AE-1200WHD stainless steel with a blue filter (i used a blue car headlight tint film with adhesive) and it turned out amazing. And yes i was able to do it by watching your tutorials.
So wish me luck for my negative mod, i am just waiting for my polarized filter film to arrive and then will proceed further.

@@watchncarry9593 hey i was successful in my first attempt at the negative display for casio 737h and it looks super cool. Thanks to your videos which helped me a lot. I took the factory polarized layer with a razor blade with loads of patience and then cleaned the glue about 50% with a water based hand sanitizer but the rest wasn't going so i took paint thinner (Turpentine) and it helped in taking the rest of the glue completely. Tried both the methods with cotton buds. Also i placed screws on the outer case of the watch where their were dummy plastic screws designed by casio. It looks more of a rugged killer watch now with those screws and negative display. Thanks once again.
if you put the polarizing filter upside down will the watch still work? i think its kinda cool with the green tint

The ae1300wh-1av, the bezel looks black with yellow accents not grey . Is it just online photos or am I missing something

Jays and Kays shipped the adapters for the AE1200 in January this year to me in the UK. It seems they got over their hissy fit about shipping to the UK.

Does the light still work? It should be reversed right? With the numbers lighting up and the background trending black. Basically reversed from the original correct?
Correct. With backlight pressed, the numbers show up as goldish-yellow and background is black

Hmmm, what happens when you do the paperclip reset with the AC hole? Is the display showing anything afterward, or completely blank?
@@watchncarry9593 After the paperclip reset it shows some weird signs. I tried it many times like you did it in the Video. Maybe i destroy it. It was my first try.
Bro help please , I bought polarizing filter from amazon and I got some issues:
1. It's not doing like yours does, from both sides its going from positive to negative , there is no rainbow colors so I can determinate which side is which .
2. From both sides , when I remove the protective layer there is no glue to stick it to the display.
What shall I do?
Regarding question 1. U may just have to experiment with one side of the polarising film and see if that works.
Regarding 2, sometimes these polarizing films dont have an adhesive side, but still come with the 2 protective layers. In that case, youll just have to lay it on top of the screen and reassemble. Hopefully the pressure from the module will be enough to keep it in its place
