I really enjoy your modding videos. I have done the positive to negative display on dozens of Casios and my procedure is a little different. First of all, I never disassemble the module. I’ve found that the polarizing film can be easily removed without having to disassemble. Secondly, I use an exacto knife to remove the film starting at the corner like you do. Thirdly, and most importantly, I never use goo gone to remove the adhesive. I absolutely hate goo gone. Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve found that a regular high polymer pencil eraser removes the adhesive much faster than goo gone and is far less messy. The eraser is also useful to remove the text on the case. I’ve gotten to the point that I can do these mods in 15 to 30 minutes. Give the eraser a try. I think you’ll like not having to deal with the mess and aggravation of goo gone.
Appreciate the kind words and suggestions. Never heard of the eraser method, but ill definitely give it a try. Thanks. Just curious, for your negative display mods, do you ADHESIVE polarizing film or NON-ADHESIVE? Mod on, my friend 👍🛠
Negative always looks better than positive imo! I bought mine as a beater.. I don't think i would want to beat it anymore when it looks that good with the negative display..
amazing tuning. This is mutch better than stock watch. especially like the backlight. casio should see this and do the same in the new version of the watch
Good video! the negative display it's really looking good! but if you don't remove the strap it's hard remove the backplate, the times i remove the straps of my dw 291 i don't used a spring bar tool i used a little screwdriver, allows me to use more force to push the spring bar to the lugs holes
The watch looks much nicer with the negative display. The only drawback is that it is not as legible as the normal display. It is actually quite a bit darker, making it difficult to tell time at a glance.
Thanks. And very true. I mean, for most negative displays (except MIP displays) you're buying a negative display for the stealth look, not for ease of reading time. So a mod like this is 100% just for cosmetics. Worse comes to worse, the process in the video can always be repeated im reverse to back to positive display
Do not take out the resin strap for 291H & 737H.It's a pain in the ass to put in back in.. 😂 Unless permanent decision to convert to adapter strap. Btw great guide on negative mod! 👍
I loved your video, in fact I saw it about 5 times, and I decided to buy the watch and do it by my self, and it was quite difficult, 😅 i dessambly and assembly the whach almost 7 times 😅 but the result was wonderful Saludos from medellin colombia
This is one awesome explanation for inverting the LCDs! And it looks amazing! Thank you for the very detailed instructional video! I have a few watches that I think would simply look amazing inverted. Can I ask though, has this been tried with electroluminescent lit LCDs?
Thanks for the kind words. Im not sure if it will work on electroluminescent lit LCDs. Id recommend joining the Custom Casios group on facebook and asking there. Im a member there too, and it's filled with many other modders who may know👍
I am 20yo. Just got hired in my first position which will start my career I am searching for this timepiece to reward myself for the last years of struggle. Where can I find this amazing SCVF009 reference?
haha, I did the same thing on the 291h just one year ago. it's really difficult to remove the origin film and get rid of the glue. must pay lots of patience.

have you tried putting dw291 mechanism into ae1200 case, or vice versa? They seem to be very much the same mechanism, and I heard you mention that you wanted to check that..
Im not sure. Ive never tried it. Alcohol is safe on electronics, but beyond that, i cant comment as to whether it will work at removing the glue or be safe when u reassemble the watch. Goo gone or Goof Off are so cheap and easily available at any grocery. Just go with those
Bought the negative display filter but its not sticky on either side anymore. Its just a filter now. I watched this video at least 10 times when i got mine in the mail but it doesn’t stick so I’m sad. Wasted 20 bucks
Good question, but No. You have to remove the stock polarizing film. You could remove the stock film and rotate it 90 degrees and get the negative effect, but it's bettee to just use a new film since the old one will have glue residue
I've seen you mark your filter with a "T" on two videos now. If you flip a T wrong side over, you still have a T. Why not use an F? (Top becomes Front, or Face.)
Theres no text on the crystal, but on the inmer masking, the text can be removed with a qtip and goo gone. I have another video on how to do it on my channel👍

Yeah. Assembled in China using parts that were made in Japan which came from materials which were mined in Russia using equipment that was manufactured in America in a factory that's run by a Canadian who was adopted by two Norwegians.
@@watchncarry9593 Hello, I am from Poland, I just ordered and in our stores they are from 26 to 72 dollars, some of them are made in china and some have company casio approvals sealed with a sticker, I know that they make g shock in Japan and Thailand and I also count in China, that what I ordered will be at least from Thailand, but there is a globalization of production, despite some even cheaper models are full of Japanese production, I am starting my collection of watches and the first was the classic cityzen now it's time for a cheap swim in the pool, hence this cheap choice of wr200. Question. Can the faceplates be spray painted and/or lacquered? Even though a lacquer finish sets hard, I'm worried that the heat inside the watch could affect the spray paint and could damage the inside of the glass where the faceplate and screen touch. I know there's heat resistant sprays you can buy, but the colour range is limited.
I spray paint digital watches all the time, they are plastic cases that are spray painted anyway, put tape on the glass and cut round it with a scalpel, then a few light coats, give it over night and re-assemble

Im not sure, but i would assume it's the same process as the DW-291. Maybe even easier, since the A1000M is a smaller display
