- Although China has been a major producer of jet fighter aircraft since the 1960s, which were widely exported during the Cold War, the country only emerged as a top-end producer in the field of combat aviation in the 2010s, when the formally massive performance gap between it and industry leaders was largely bridged. This was perhaps best demonstrated by the J-20 fighter program, which in March 2017 produced the world's first active fifth-generation fighter outside the United States. Although China is one of just three countries to produce heavyweight fighters, alongside the United States and Russia, unlike Russia which has invested very little in fighters from other weight ranges, China has produced two entirely distinct classes of a single-engine lightweight fighter jet. The J-10 and JF-17 first entered service in 2006 and 2008 respectively, with the former developed for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force, and the latter developed exclusively for Pakistan, and now JF 17’s production line is almost settled in Pakistan.

tfx is just a mediocre plane, building a plane is more than just buying those off the shelf product. Pakistan won't be able to get these planes because Turkey can't get those GE engines anymore

With a very effective long range air-to-air missile, dogfighting will become obsolete. Even a J7 armed with a PL12 and/or PL15 can be a formidable opponent.

The J10C is a heavy fighter jet with greater payload and the JF17 is a light fighter jet. I trust J10C better as PLA fielded it and not JF17.... Nevertheless the JF17 is still a good fighter jet.
Medium fighter jet such J10 has better ground attack capabilty than light fighter such gripen or JF17.

The J 10 design was bought from *seal. In the 70s Israel was developing a plane designated as Lavi. But, with the arrival of the F 16, development of the Lavi was stopped and the desig sold to China. Similarly, in the late ops MiG had was in the process of developing a light combat aircraft. But, Russia, who now owned the company, was not in an economic position to finance further development of the aircraft. MiG sold the plans to China. The plane was developed at Chengdou. In China the plane was designated FC 1. In Pakistan it was designated JF 17. The FC 1 is being sold to Argentina. Pakistan cannot sell the JF 17 to Argentina because Britain has bad realations with that country. And Pakistan's relations with Britain are excellent. So many Pakistanis living there.
The pictures and videos of JF-17 do not show any air-to-ground rockets being carried. A2G rocket pack is a basic weapon for close air support and counter-insurgency. All the modern weapons like laser guided bombs and other missiles are shown in air shows but the basic unguided rockets should not be forgotten. Official Indian history of 1971 war notes that PAF did not use A2G rockets in the war, only bombs and guns for air to ground missions. This is not understandable because IAF did use rockets in that conflict.

Why they don't use J-10C's engine and aesa radar on JF-17 ?
JF17 is lightweight, J10 is medium weight. For long range radars u need medium weight jets like J10. F20 was light weight thats y USA shelved it and selected F16 which is medium weight, to put longer range radars. Since JF17 is first jet for Pak its fine, otherwise its useless compared to F16s. BTW J10 is also useless due to delta wings lol
jf17 doesn't have the fuel capacity for the bigger engine, once it takes off, it'll reach bingo fuel in few minutes

IAF forced to modernize SU30 because of JF block 3 is a false statement. SU30 is a different class and JF-17 is not comparable to it. JF17 block 3 might be directly comparable with Tejas MK1A and MK2 fighters aircrafts(when they become a reality).

Yes true, no jet can compare with JF-17 because it's the only jet in the world which uses RD-93 (the smoky engine) in the world. And no other jet can produce such large amounts of smoke.

The combustion chamber is under high pressure, and it is easy to smoke when working, and the amount of heat radiation is large.
In the low speed and start-up phase, rich fuel start is required (the aero engine needs fuel-rich phase at this time, and the engine speed must be maintained). At this time, due to the short annular combustion chamber, the temperature control is high, and the surrounding star nozzle is atomized. Good quality, mostly small diameter fuel beads, due to their small momentum (limited pressure, limited air flow), are concentrated near the injector, easy to form carbon deposits - so high fuel pressure is required to allow the fuel to spread, but it is not an understanding of increasing fuel. However, during the speed increase phase, the increase in air flow causes the fuel beads to disperse and the tail smoke disappears.
The change in the amount of pneumatic injector fuel depends on the fuel supply pressure, while the atomization quality is more dependent on aerodynamic factors. In the low speed and start-up phase, the pneumatic nozzle relies more on the aerodynamic speed, and the atomization effect is not large.
Basically, the engine is small, power is high, fuel consumption is high, so black smoke will appear.

Pakistan is well behind having to desperately having to buy J10CP having to match India with its purchase of Rafael fighter aircraft.Pakistani's should not be happy that they bought J10CP but need to understand how backward Pakistan is in comparison to India in Aircraft and Aerospace technologies.Pakistan needs to get it economy and education systems updated and vastly improved to defend itself against any Wars or economic problems.
