The bible doesn’t have to read "You are allowed to bow to a statue of Mary". If it said "don’t bow to any statues" that would be something else. However, it doesn’t say that.
The commandment of not making any images addressed the issue, that at the time, pagan religions made statues and bowed to them. God forbade to bow to those statues. There were no Mary statues to even talk about.

@@BibleAndFriends You have not heard the gospel! The gospel is very clear, in fact the GOSPEL OF MATTHEW SAYS how God gave the power to MEN on earth to forgive sins. Matthew 9:2-8 "Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!” But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”-then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” And he arose and departed to his house. Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to MEN."
SO, if you analyze the doctrine of the CHRIST, the father send him to forgive sins, and God gave that power to men. Jesus then says: "As the father sent me... I also send you.... If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them...."
Catholicism is 100% doctrine of the Christ! Forgiveness of sins by MEN on earth is 100% doctrine of the Christ! You are the one who hasn't heard the Gospel. You are the anathema for preaching him another gospel!

The difference is that Jesus is the only atonement for our sins and if you believe in Him alone He will raise you up on the last Day. Forgiving other brothers and sisters is God's will so much that if we dont forgive others the Father will not forgive us. The twisting of scripture will be that you need to go too some other specially ordained person to ask forgiveness, which we dont. Jesus is our High Priest, King, Redeemer and Savior till forever. So the only High Priest we go to know in alignment with God's Word is Jesus directly. Then if we need to forgive or ask forgiveness to other people we go directly to them and try to do our part to remain on peace with that person in so far we can on our part. Everybody that trully believes and trusts in Jesus with all their heart is called a Saint by God and part of God's family. Catholic faith departs from this which is dangerous.

This is the issue with non-Catholic churches. They use sola scriptura to find "their truth." They approach their faith with a "what I want to believe" mindset. Vs 61, Jesus did not back down, for He said, "Does this offend you?" it offends protestants. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Jn 20:21, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
Jn 17:18, "Even as thou hast sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world."
Jn 17:22-23, "And the glory that thou hast given Me, I have given to
Matt. 28, 18-20: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore. and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Jesus says to the crowd, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved." But in reference to the same people, Jesus immediately follows with "He who does not believe will be condemned." This demonstrates that one can be baptized and still not be a believer. This disproves the Protestant argument that one must be a believer to be baptized. There is nothing in the Bible about a "believer's baptism."
"Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior," or "Ask Jesus into your heart" isn't the biblical answer.
It’s important to be saved from hell, damnation, and the stain of original sin, but what are we saved for? We are saved for union with Christ. Our salvation began when we were born again through baptism and God’s own Divine Life was restored in our souls, making us like Adam and Eve were in the Garden before the Original (first) Sin. As we go through life, we are united with Christ through the Sacraments he left as gifts for us, especially through Penance (forgiveness of our sins committed since Baptism) and the Eucharist (partaking of God’s own Life, His own Divine Nature, 2 Peter 1:4) - until that day when we are truly united with Him in heaven.
Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31-46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell. (For the teaching on venial (non-deadly) and mortal (deadly) sins, see 1 John 5:16-17)
What I must do to be saved:
*I must be baptized with water and the Spirit. Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5, I Peter 3:20-21. (Exceptions: [1] If I desire Baptism but die before I can be baptized with water and the Spirit, God accepts my desire to be baptized, and [2] If I am killed (martyred) because of my faith, but I have not had the opportunity to be baptized, God accepts my death as my baptism, called the Baptism of Blood).
    * I must do the will of God the Father. Matthew 7:21
    * I must keep the Commandments of God. Matthew 5:19-20, Matthew 7:21, Matthew 19:17, 1 Timothy 6:14, and others.

    * I must accept the Cross (suffering). Matthew 10:38, Matthew 16:24-25, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23, Luke 14:27. Phil 1:29, and others.
    * I must be a member of God's true church. Acts 2:46-47.
    * I must confess my sins. James 5:16, I John 1:9, John 20:19-23
    * I must heed the words of St. Peter, the first Pope. Acts 11:13-14, Acts 15:7.
    * I must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. John 6:51-58, I Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-30.
    * I must do unto others as I would have them do unto me and love my neighbor as myself. I must feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick and those in prison or give other aid to those in need. Luke 10:33 ff, Mt 25:31-46. "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God" Hebrews 13:16. Good works don’t save us, but we will be judged by them.
*I must strive to be holy. "Strive for peace with everyone and for that holiness without which no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14
*I must endure (persevere) to the end. Matthew 10:22, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13.
And ... ? What else must I do?
    Catechism
#432 The name "Jesus" signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation, so that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

I’m a Catholic who was a Reformed Protestant and would’ve thought I was becoming apostate 4 years ago 😂 One thing that Protestants have that is admirable is a zeal and fervor. It is definitely sad when a Catholic does not understand the faith or devote himself to it (although there are plenty of Protestants in the same exact boat). But that doesn’t invalidate the Church itself.
Protestants assuming that Catholics don’t have the true gospel is largely based on what they’ve heard from Catholics who do not take their faith very seriously.
Dig deep, and find that what the Church has held to for the last 2,000 years has always been the true faith. Here’s quote I never heard as a Protestant, “For my part, I should not believe the gospel except as moved by the authority of the Catholic Church.” - St. Augustine (Against the Fundamental Epistle of Manichaeus)

More protestants who claim to know the bible yet they reject clear biblical teachings! Because this Catholic man was not certain where purgatory is in the bible does not mean it is not there. The Apocalypse of St. John clearly states of heaven: 21"[27] There shall not enter into it any thing defiled". If you are not perfected and you still have sin, you shall not enter heaven.
"[11] For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus. [12] Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble: [13] Every man's work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. [14] If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [15] If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire." 1st Epistle of St Paul to the Corinthians 3 = PURGATORY.
([12] "Upon this foundation": The foundation is Christ and his doctrine: or the true faith in him, working through charity. The building upon this foundation gold, silver, and precious stones, signifies the more perfect preaching and practice of the gospel; the wood, hay, and stubble, such preaching as that of the Corinthian teachers (who affected the pomp of words and human eloquence) and such practice as is mixed with much imperfection, and many lesser sins. Now the day of the Lord, and his fiery trial, (in the particular judgment immediately after death,) shall make manifest of what sort every man's work has been: of which, during this life, it is hard to make a judgment. For then the fire of God's judgment shall try every man's work. And they, whose works, like wood, hay, and stubble, cannot abide the fire, shall suffer loss; these works being found to be of no value; yet they themselves, having built upon the right foundation, (by living and dying in the true faith and in the state of grace, though with some imperfection,) shall be saved yet so as by fire; being liable to this punishment, by reason of the wood, hay, and stubble, which was mixed with their building.) When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!” But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?

Watch the video without sound - Bible and Friends - you will see your neck coming forward in an aggressive way - this man smiling and protecting his child - you should have the kindness not to approach someone like this; you have the Law first and Love second. Love your neighbour first.
    You were peaceful-aggressive towards him.
Next time, sit on a bench and invite people to sit with you. In this way you can be fully peaceful in your approach.

"I don't understand Catholicism in all of its fullness". And there is the rub. If you don't understand Catholicism then why would you presume to preach against it? Of all the arrogance to presume to speak against something you clearly know nothing about.
The Catholic Church does not teach that you "do the Sacraments" in order to be saved or maintain your salvation in the way that you insinuate. The Catholic Church teaches that you are saved by the Grace of God through faith, but not an empty faith that isn't void of love for God which obeys Christ.
I encourage you to study Catholic teaching before you presume to preach against it.
You can save your erroneous evangelism explosion for the ignorant and unlearned who don't know better.

What do you mean by faith?
What do you mean by trust (aka. hope)?
what do you mean by grace? (more than just an unmerited attitude, correect?) Grace is an ontological reality, a gift that chances us, makes us adopted children of God ( John 3:5)
These are virtues and are more than just intellectual acknowledgements.
