    This is great, but the gauging a hire off of this is horribly flawed. A fresh college graduate or someone who just graduated high school would probably do better than a CEO. It has nothing to do with performance, experience, can you work with people, communicate well, etc. This is the equivalent of people needing the GMAT or GRE for a career field to become a PE, Dentist, Doctor, etc. It has nothing to do with anything and I have been outdone on this by an intern and I am a CEO myself. Although it may seem like it helps. This does not because it doesn't gauge interests, passion, work ethic, etc. It's like hiring the kid in high school that scored a 34 on the ACT but never went to class. You pass on someone that had a 23, showed up for class, and was easily coachable while the 34 is gone after a year due to never listening, work ethic, and attendance issues.

      The recruiters probably will not use ONLY this test to see if you qualify for the job. It is probably one of many tools in addition to your resume, references, work experience and most importantly the interview. This test is probably just a benchmark to gauge possible candidates. For example if candidate A and B has similar resumes, and one has 35/50 answers correct and the other 45/50 correct, they will be both called in for an interview. However, if say one has 15/50 correct, I doubt that person would be called in for an interview. The test isn't super easy or super hard, but if someone's score doesn't meet a reasonable threshold, then the career they are appling for isn't right for them. If your intern received a very low score, I doubt you would call that person for an interview. If a fresh graduate received a very low score, then that must raise some red flags too. As for the geniuses and special minds that get perfect scores and resumes, they can fall thru the cracks and pass the first stage, but at the interview stage and reference stage, that is how you see if they shine or not. Again this test is one of many tools to filter through the list of candidates.

      Welcome to our new reality! Similar story here… I’ve been successful at every business Ive ever worked at in my life. But test like this and the applicant tracking systems being used skip over passionate, motivated, and talented people to consistently hire to a flawed and unprepared group. The other reality is that the people recruiting are hiring and trained from the same system. (They just don’t understand how to assess talent or interview properly) . So the cycle will just keep going round and round adjusting and further playing with these test, but not understanding it’s true faults.

      @@dominicv9225 This can be true or false…. I’ve worked at both types of companies where in some cases it’s just “part of the process” and some companies where “you score must be X” to be considered. In many cases nowadays : Test like this and Applicant Tracking systems do the thinking for recruiters. Meaning The system kicks out people that didn’t use enough key words on their resume or application OR didn’t get an approved score. Really depends on the company.

      @@mikewmikewhich leads to a complete shitty filtering process of candidates. @dominic over here supports it which I can see a hiring process of robots with no personality. Furthermore, it completely discredits collegiate degrees.

    I just took one of these test…. Only answered about 23 of 50…. Maybe got 19 right… After watching this I’d suggest that if there is a skip feature then only answer the quick easy questions and then go backwords answering the harder stuff. I wasted too much time with the long word problems where I could have likely answered 30+ dealing with patterns, pictures, and opposite words… Good luck

      This is the cognitive test that trump should take. I guarantee that he can't pass it. He would only be able to answer very few questions. The test trump taken is to test for Dementia and it's easy.

    the fact that you can improve your percentile ranking by taking a prep test is a strong indicator that this test is completely bogus because it can be immediately hacked by such a simple act of recursion.

  • @zagyex
    @zagyex 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I took the test 2 times.
    First I scored 230 which is below average :( I tried to answer the questions correctly. Got stuck at a few questions and could read only 13 questions.
    Second time I tried to answer all questions, if I was unsure, just made an educated guess. I could complete 49 questions with 35 right answers, so my score was 400 which is in the top 5%.
    Quite a change.
    So I'd say the simplest strategy is to try to answer all questions. Maybe do a prep test so you see what type of questions there are.

    12minprep with Gideon Segev is the best thing if you have to take Predictive Index test. I had a very short time to prepare for the test and Gideon helped me a lot. In addition to course - please, do upgrade for the personal session with Gideon! And any other tests you need to take I believe Gideon will come to your rescue to help you to ace your scores.

    If you are taking the PI cognitive test, and not taking Gideon's course, then you are hurting yourself. Gideon's course helped me crush the test. Without it, I would've been lost. It costs $39 but it's worth at least 10 times that much. Best money spent ever. I'm not joking.

    This course sucks. So much of the information in it is wrong! For example, in one lesson he says that Gorillas are a subset of monkeys. No. Gorillas are a subset of apes. Hasn't he watched Planet of the Apes where they consisted of Gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans? This is just ONE example of many.
