"I suppose you still have dreams? Well, the next time you dream give some thought on the night of the hunt and its purpose." - Djura, after annihilating you with his gatling gun

so Djura is not affected by the plague, knows about the dream and knows the beasts were once human. I feel there is more to him than we know. He doesnt seem to worship anything and says he used to be a hunter. Perhaps he found the conspiracy of the blood church and realized the old ones were simply monsters using the humans and disbanded everything which is why he stays in old yarhnim behind a gattling gun away from everyone where its locked off.
Evil Nick Djura, along with Eileen the Crow, were almost certainly two of the previous ‘Paleblood Hunters’ (as loremaster Redgrave/DMC_Redgrave refers to them), the ‘special’/‘chosen’ Hunters like the player character who were bound to the Hunter’s Dream and eventually submitted to Gehrman and were freed from the dream and continue to live in the waking world. As one of the senior members, if not the de facto leader, of the Powder Kegs, he would’ve played a major role in the burning of Old Yharnam, quite possibly the prime orchestrator of the entire thing. Eventually, the slaughter of thousands of innocent civilians took its toll on his conscience (understandable...), and he basically flipped out and said “Yo, Healing Church, you guys are whack, I’m out...” and chucked the deuces. Now he ‘protects’ Old Yharnam, which he previously destroyed, as a form of penance to try to make amends for all the terribleness he did. His armor, the ‘Ashen Hunter’ Set (excellent poison resist and best frenzy resist set in the game, btw), description mentions something about him coating his armor in ash as a ritual/ceremonial act, assumedly ashes from Old Yharnam (quite possibly the ashes of *people* that had burned in Old Yharnam, because Bloodborne is just messed up like that...), as a ‘mark of shame/guilt’ for what he had done. And so he sat atop his tower with his machine gun wallowing in guilt for who knows how many years. But then I showed up and punched him off the tower to his death. Because I’m a nice guy, and I wanted to relieve his suffering. And get his badge... but mostly relieve his suffering... maybe...
awsyoos Well... I doubt every single beast in Old Yharnam is one of Djura’s family members... unless there was some seriously gross inbreeding going on there... maybe thats what triggered the scourge of the beasts... you never know... but, more likely, he feels kinda guilty since he previously took part in the burning of Old Yharnam and killed thousands of innocent civilians... which is pretty terrible... and now he ‘protects’ the place he helped destroy, as a way to try to ‘make amends’ for the terrible stuff he did... that’s why his armor is the ‘Ashen Hunter Set’- he coated his armor in the ashes of Old Yharnam as a ‘mark of guilt/shame’, basically.

I'm pretty sure the reason for you having to have witnessed paarl is most likely because that dark beast is the last dark beast, and by witnessing it you gain the insight of why djura decided to protect the beasts and upon coming to this understanding of djura and his motives for defending the beasts then, and only then can you chill with the wielder of a relatively underwhelming weapon without proper gems.

Confirmed still working as of November 2018. It took me two tries. The first time I think he noticed me because I was sprinting, so I tried walking slowly after the first ladder when I got close to his tower and it worked fine.
I knew this guy protecting this place so I respected it and only inter to get the loot. Didn't try to hit any monsters there. But he attacked me anyway and kill me. So I said OK. Before I kill the final boss I will wipe the town with his ass and go. So I entered again just to get my souls back. Found out that one of the monster drank my blood echos. Second later I found my self surrounded by some of the enemy and got killed again by his fook gun. So I said fook it. I enter a third time killed every one there. Cleaned the town. Claimed the tower and raped him for his fooktared bullshit
The two legged beasts will come up the first ladder if they chase you down from the top, but I don’t know about the second ladder to the top of Djura’s tower, never tried. Might be interesting to see. My guess would be that their AI is programmed not to follow you up the second ladder.
Someone already tried this, you can search ‘rogue_rouge’(the guy who did this) on TH-cam. Beast can go to the tower but no reaction between Djura and beast. You can lead the beast to kill Djura. Djura won’t turn against you by the beast’s attack. He will die placidly.
If you want an easy kill, equip the cannon, lock onto him and shoot as soon as you climb the ladder. He just looks at you before flying off the tower. Then exit game and reload (after his echoes enter your inventory) and his drops will be next to the gatling turret.
@@shesho hm. When you kill Paarl you should have to run to him without travel to Hunters dream. This should to the trick. Alas, Bloodborne sometimes has issues with side quests - i.e. yesterday i've completed an early chikage build to make "the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst build/cosplay". In order to do so, I also need to get the Bloody Rapture rune from the Crow himself; alas during Eileen quest, Henryk didn't spawn, so I'm unable to do so. But, NG+ awaits!
You can actually get a Gatling gun ranged wep of ur own. In the old hunters dlc, where all the pools of blood r, follow the river of blood downhill past all the bloated enemies to a really dark cave where you’ll find a Gatling gun-wielding enemy called djura’s disciple. Kill him and he’ll drop an equippable Gatling gun
I've had a few problems with this but I finally got it to work... The two big things that I did differently that weren't mentioned in the video (a great help by the way!) was that I; 1. warped in from Hypogean Gaol and 2. Had zero blood echos when I spoke with Djura. I don't know if either of these are factors but this is what got the job done for me. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! I wanted to befriend him but found so much conflicting info that I wasn't sure what to do. This made it so much simpler. I really like his dialogue. It implies he learned a bit more than he was supposed to and now just wants to keep what little peace he can.
puroresuraa you don't seem to have replies enabled on your Google+ account settings, so I hope you see this, but yes its fine to kill beasts before killing BSB, Djura doesn't seem to recognize you or that he previously saw you killing beasts when you do this. In fact its fine to kill them on the way back to Djura after meeting Paarl as well, as long as he doesn't actually see you do it. I only ran past them in the interests of keeping the video short, normally I'd kill all of them on the way back to him since he can't see me on that route anyway so has no idea I did so.
"Well well... how did you get in here?" "in here" ... Wot? Okay, pretty sure From had this dude in an indoor location originally when this line was written, lol.
I tried to fight him about three times. On the third, He kept on moving so much he must’ve planted his footing somewhere off the edge, and just fell; no joke. I could tell this happened when I just received blood echos out of nowhere. I went to see him again but he was no longer there.
You don't have to fight the Blood Starved Beast at all. You can take an alternative route to Forest-> Byrgenwerth->Kill Rom-> Yahargul unseen village-> Dark Pearl Beast and meet him again without him firing a single bullet at you ;)
I’ve killed Darkbeast Paarl, Blood-starved Beast, and not attacking beasts on the path to him from either boss arena as intended. Djura is still hostile when I climb up the ladders. Any help on this please?
Alright I solved it, basically I went to Hunter’s Dream, quit, went back in, teleported to Blood-starved Beast’s lamp, and ran to Djura. Hopefully this helps if the same happens to you
well, any beasts where he can see you do it, anyway, and only if you want to STAY friends with him. Once befriended though you can just kill him to get his armor, there's no further benefit to staying friendly.
Turki Vinsmoke Well my channel is very very small and I only get like 2-3 comments a week so its no big deal to read them when Google Alerts tells me I have new ones. But anyway, you're welcome :).
Eat This : Old Yharnam is apart of the dream realm, it's not actually real like main city Yharnam, it's a "bad memory" a fragment of a nightmare. The "Long night" before the morning sun is The Hunters dream 'the moon precense' domain and experiment'. The only part of Bloodborne that stays in neutral lingo between the waking world and the dream world is Gherman and the doll, you are fighting the scourge in the past from a dream, the blood minister makes you sign the hunters contract holding you to your oath. You as a hunter merely changed the course of nature and defeated a cosmic monster at his own game.

While I was fighting Djura, he fell off the edge and I couldn't get his badge. Now, I did exit the game and return (after searching for a fix on google). The loot was supposed to appear next to his gun, but it wasn't there for me. Anybody know how I can fix this or at least obtain his badge?
when he falls off, he dies and the badge floats in midair down below and seems impossible to retrieve.. If you return to hunters dream, then go back up to his rooftop Djura remains dead but his badge is beside gattling gun. Was for me anyway. Playing this Sept 2018.
So I know this is an old video, but I just started replaying again and noticed I went back during the night moon phase to grind (forgot about our deal) and I was extremely far away from him while killing and noticed he somehow saw me and I pissed him off. Question is, how did this happen?
Dude has amazing eyesight, can see you pretty much everywhere in Old Yharnam except directly behind him (the area shown in the video). Remember as soon as you open the door to Old Yharnam the first time he immediately spots you despite how far away you are.
Rubikant I had made friends with him before the night moon phase so I was kind of surprised our deal was over a while later near the back entrance. Xray vision maybe?
Christine Zhu I just found out I was wrong on one point - you have to either kill Paarl or let him kill you, warping out of the fight does NOT trigger it. Could this be why it didn't work for you?
I will never be friends with Djura. After he shot me the very first time I played this game, I always killed the bastard. He will never be forgiven, even after I found out you could befriend him.
For some reason, whenever I walk up the first ladder, something dies. I don't know if it's fall damage but it turns Djura hostile. It's really annoying.
??? What are you even getting at here? Wisdom? Do you mean insight? How is it related to pebbles? It sounds like you are saying I hacked the game somehow, even though this video is over 6 years old, before the first big patch (hence the bad loading times) and long before anyone had successfully hacked the game? And what would be the point? This method has been widely known and used for a very long time. I didn't discover it myself, I just created a crappy video to demonstrate how it works.
@@vegascorp Yes, there are many ways to get insight, including consumables like those. But you can see the exact moment my insight goes up in the video at 3:00 when I encounter Paarl. No consumables are being used at that time and there's even that special visual effect that plays the first time you encounter a new boss. Not to mention he's lying on the ground at the start here, but if you fight him again he's already up and moving around before the fight starts. In any case, I still don't understand what you are really getting at here. What possible purpose would it serve to attempt to manipulate insight numbers in a 6-year-old-video about befriending an NPC?

Thank you so much! l'll try this the next time l play... Already killed paarl but couldn't find the route l should take. Always wanted to befriend him and use his weapon!
Blake Young Nope. It’s based on how much insight you currently have. Until the blood moon, then everything becomes permanently visible. Or most everything... Honestly buying stuff is the only real use for Insight- otherwise it’s a liability. Having more insight *lowers* both your Beasthood meter and your frenzy resistance. And some enemies actually become stronger (mostly the creepy trench coat guys in the cathedral ward). The Insight mechanic was a really awesome idea with a lot of potential, unfortunately it only changes a few tiny details (besides seeing the Amygdalas, which is awesome, but that happens anyway after the blood moon) and makes you weaker, which is weird... more insight into all the freaky alien shit going on should make you better able to deal with it, not the other way around... and it changes the music in the Hunter’s Dream so it’s all super depressing... as if things weren’t bad enough...
There has to be a reason not to kill the beasts before and after you meet him.....maybe you meet him again or he helps you.....from software wouldnt have put it in if there wasnt....we just need to figure it out

Confirmed still working as of November 2018. It took me two tries. The first time I think he noticed me because I was sprinting, so I tried walking slowly after the first ladder when I got close to his tower and it worked fine.
Damn ive been all the way through the dungeons, beat the game more times than i can count and i never thought of doin that
I knew this guy protecting this place so I respected it and only inter to get the loot.
AC_CORVO Gaming Rofl... I can’t help but respect that level of sheer spite. Well done.

I wonder what happens if you lead some of the beasts in Old Yarham up the ladders to Djura, will he fight them? Or will they just gang up on you?
Surely nothing because its impossible to get a beast there so im sure they didnt programed it for that
The two legged beasts will come up the first ladder if they chase you down from the top, but I don’t know about the second ladder to the top of Djura’s tower, never tried.

I followed all these steps perfectly and he still shoots me at the top of the ladder.
Help?
You just have to fight Paarl. Nothing more; win or lose - doesn't matter
Happened the same to me. Fought and beat the Paarl, but Djura still tried to kill me.
Kill him and he’ll drop an equippable Gatling gun
i pushed Djura off the tower but he is still alive with his full health. Can I still befriend him?
rubin Noo... That's like killing someone's family then telling him/her if he/she wants to be friends
rubin Ik it's 8 months but
rubin yes
Sure. Just say, "It's just a prank, bro!"
7:48 that line is amazingly awesome for some reason.
I was completely blind when I enter Old Yharnam and my first instict and top priority when he gunned me was to kill him which I did.
Some random beast keeps dying so it's not letting me befriend him T-T
yo wei it doesnt matter if a beast dies
That dude killed me on my first attempt. I climb back all the way up the ladder and this time he falls of the tower. Didnt even have to fight him lol
I've had a few problems with this but I finally got it to work... The two big things that I did differently that weren't mentioned in the video (a great help by the way!) was that I;
1. warped in from Hypogean Gaol and
2. Had zero blood echos when I spoke with Djura. I don't know if either of these are factors but this is what got the job done for me. Hope this helps!
Had I known it was possible to speak with him and earn a gesture, I might've let him live. Dude tore me up with that gatling gun though.
Wht do u mean by BSB ?!
+Adeeb Bokhari blood starved beast I'm guessing
After being on ng+12, I was certainly shocked to see u can befriend him
This helped me out quite tremendously! Thank you very much!
I platinated bloodborne with no idea that quests existed and secret things to do, I think they should add more trophies
"Well well... how did you get in here?"
"in here"
You can take an alternative route to Forest->
Byrgenwerth->Kill Rom-> Yahargul unseen village-> Dark Pearl Beast and meet him again without him firing a single bullet at you ;)
I’ve killed Darkbeast Paarl, Blood-starved Beast, and not attacking beasts on the path to him from either boss arena as intended. Djura is still hostile when I climb up the ladders. Any help on this please?
Alright I solved it, basically I went to Hunter’s Dream, quit, went back in, teleported to Blood-starved Beast’s lamp, and ran to Djura. Hopefully this helps if the same happens to you
so after befriending him am forbidden from attacking beasts in Old Yharam?
well, any beasts where he can see you do it, anyway, and only if you want to STAY friends with him. Once befriended though you can just kill him to get his armor, there's no further benefit to staying friendly.
Rubikant i see , thx for the respond and oh shit I didn't think you'll respond this fast (if ever) because it's been a year xD
Turki Vinsmoke Well my channel is very very small and I only get like 2-3 comments a week so its no big deal to read them when Google Alerts tells me I have new ones. But anyway, you're welcome :).
Turki Vinsmoke ❤️
Rubikant I’m subscribing now just because this comment chain
“The beasts will feast tonight.”
What happens if I knocked him off the tower before killing Darkbeast later? Will I still be able to get to Cainhurst?
5:24 that actually gave me half a heart attack because i didnt expect him to just stop oml XD
I finally realized the meaning of “the next time you dream, give some thought” I’m so stupid.
If you have trouble beating him just as soon as you climb his tower lock on and just keep shooting him with the gun until he falls off
He jumped off the ledge and ended himself when I got up there.
Mind blown. Love it. Gonna have to try this on my next play through.
How crazy would it be if you befriended him and then All the beasts of old Yarnam were like "Hey this guy knows Djura. He's alright, go on through."
How can the MC hear Djura anywhere in Old Yharnam? It’s not like there’s a speaker system all around Yharnam.
Jack of Blades Who says all of Yharnam isn’t part of the dreamlands...? Who says everything isn’t part of the dreamlands...? Who says the dream isn’t part of the dreamlands...? Who says the Moon Presence isn’t a dream of the dreamlands...? Who says *you* aren’t a part of the dreamlands...?? Who says the dreamlands aren’t part of the dreamlands of another dreamlands..? A dreamlands is still a dreamlands, even in a dream...in the dreamlands...
Giorno Giovanna -“The Great One, Oedon, lacking form, exists only in *voice*...”
-Oedon runes all involve QS bullets.
-Djura’s gun has unlimited ammo.
>>> Djura is Oedon confirmed.
While I was fighting Djura, he fell off the edge and I couldn't get his badge. Now, I did exit the game and return (after searching for a fix on google). The loot was supposed to appear next to his gun, but it wasn't there for me. Anybody know how I can fix this or at least obtain his badge?
ShadyXL come back later and it'll appear
I just went to the hunters dream then ran back to the gun and his badge was there
That badge isnt so good anyway
when he falls off, he dies and the badge floats in midair down below and seems impossible to retrieve.. If you return to hunters dream, then go back up to his rooftop Djura remains dead but his badge is beside gattling gun. Was for me anyway. Playing this Sept 2018.
That happened to me and I was livid
#IlluminatiConfirmed #AHunterIsNEVERAlone
I was absolutely not expecting to walk out hear and hear in my mind, “AC130 inbound.”
Here I am trying to rip this guy’s heart out and I find out you can just be friends. This game is a special gem
00:31 that scares the shit out of me every time, I forget about it every time I go here
best method so far, good video
That’s the same guy who voice king vendrick in dark souls 2. The guy has an amazing voice
100%ing is some complex shit. One day I'll complete a souls game totally.
Not sure why it's still not working for me. I killed BSB and found Paaral but he still is hostile to me.
Christine Zhu I just found out I was wrong on one point - you have to either kill Paarl or let him kill you, warping out of the fight does NOT trigger it. Could this be why it didn't work for you?
I'm having the same problem. Did you find a solution?
Nope! I have started a new file recently so I'm hoping this time it works!
I still can’t believe to this day. That he doesn’t have much lore in the Bloodborne universe. Not to mention much to really give the player.
I will never be friends with Djura. After he shot me the very first time I played this game, I always killed the bastard. He will never be forgiven, even after I found out you could befriend him.
"they don't mean harm to anyone"
Yeah... Did you talk to them about that? They try to kill me on sight when I hadn't done anything!
Wow I had no idea this was possible. Nice find !!
The voice acting is amazing
HE GIVES YOU AN EMOTE?!?!? this just went from mild interest in a possible glitch to THIS IS CONTENT AND I MUST PLAY IT AGAIN AND GET THAT EMOTE!
its frustrating how much better this runs on ps4 than ps5
5:52
Djura....insist?! Of course...of course....
For some reason, whenever I walk up the first ladder, something dies. I don't know if it's fall damage but it turns Djura hostile. It's really annoying.
@iShadyXL - I killed him with a group. But didn't find his armor. I have yet to go back. But I noticed that you can by his armor at the Insight NPC.
+Volt Ron That's how you get his armor. You don't find it. The only thing he drops is the badge
If you run up on the roof then quickly go back down the ladder he'll try to follow you and fall, then just go collect your badge.
Now how am I supposed to feel about this after all those years and all the play throughs while having no clue about it!???
When you go into paarl you can see your pebble indicate use. I'm guessing that's actually wisdom you were able to cover up somehow.
@@Rubikant calm down. I meant madman knowledge, just said great ones wisdom. They give insight as a consumable right? Busted.
Wow I never new you could do that!
You can do this too if u go to old yharnam and do the skip after the skip he gives u the same text
Goddamnit. When I got up there I thought he was gonna be hostile and so I started swinging at him before I could talk to him.
So many years and I just found this out today...
Every time I fight him he backs up off the building.
love how he claims the beasts to not be harmful yet every five seconds they’re trying to gang up on me he’s a cool character be he can die 🖕 not doing all of that for a gesture and a weapon
good video though
Well you should do it because you know, trophy
But if you kill him he will drop that badge so just for a gesture and some more dialogue,do whatever you want
His voice doesn't echo when he kills you the other time.
did you kill beasts on your way to bsb cuz i did. And i have been to paarl AND i walked from the good chalice lamp without harming a single beast to his tower and when i went upp the latter feeling good he turns around and shoots at me ?? i havent killed him yet but is there smt i need to do before it... help fast
Ok, for everyone who wondered i deafeted paarl and resett the area and that worked for me..thank the blood
Emppu I did it too. I killed paarl bsb and went 4 times to him without seeing me and he continues to hot me over and over. What did I do wrong?
LO Pi im having the same problem
Did you got it right?
Victor Cintra After several times I got frustrated and killed him. You have the same ptoblem? I hope for you that you get it :)
Thank you so much! l'll try this the next time l play... Already killed paarl but couldn't find the route l should take. Always wanted to befriend him and use his weapon!
If you spend insight can you still see more??
The beasts try to kill, I kill them. Defend beasts trying to kill me, I kill you. He breaks the non aggression principal, he get what's coming to him.
Djuras voice is so relaxing
There has to be a reason not to kill the beasts before and after you meet him.....maybe you meet him again or he helps you.....from software wouldnt have put it in if there wasnt....we just need to figure it out
Letting another dangerous human live like Batman.. Clever
The giant metal backpack this dude is wearing gives off anime schoolgirl vibes which is rather funny x
He sounds like johnny depp
Lol. To me, he sounded more like Tom Hardy
Anyone else take a wrong turn and accidentally walked in front of the church permanently fucking up your chances with Djura?
you guys sure are good friends.
So i didnt have to push him off a building
