"I suppose you still have dreams? Well, the next time you dream give some thought on the night of the hunt and its purpose." - Djura, after annihilating you with his gatling gun

so Djura is not affected by the plague, knows about the dream and knows the beasts were once human. I feel there is more to him than we know. Perhaps he found the conspiracy of the blood church and realized the old ones were simply monsters using the humans and disbanded everything which is why he stays in old yarhnim behind a gattling gun away from everyone where its locked off.
Evil Nick Djura, along with Eileen the Crow, were almost certainly two of the previous ‘Paleblood Hunters’ (as loremaster Redgrave/DMC_Redgrave refers to them), the ‘special’/‘chosen’ Hunters like the player character who were bound to the Hunter’s Dream and eventually submitted to Gehrman and were freed from the dream and continue to live in the waking world. As one of the senior members, if not the de facto leader, of the Powder Kegs, he would’ve played a major role in the burning of Old Yharnam, quite possibly the prime orchestrator of the entire thing. Eventually, the slaughter of thousands of innocent civilians took its toll on his conscience (understandable...), and he basically flipped out and said “Yo, Healing Church, you guys are whack, I’m out...” and chucked the deuces. Now he ‘protects’ Old Yharnam, which he previously destroyed, as a form of penance to try to make amends for all the terribleness he did. His armor, the ‘Ashen Hunter’ Set (excellent poison resist and best frenzy resist set in the game, btw), description mentions something about him coating his armor in ash as a ritual/ceremonial act, assumedly ashes from Old Yharnam (quite possibly the ashes of *people* that had burned in Old Yharnam, because Bloodborne is just messed up like that...), as a ‘mark of shame/guilt’ for what he had done. And so he sat atop his tower with his machine gun wallowing in guilt for who knows how many years. But then I showed up and punched him off the tower to his death. Because I’m a nice guy, and I wanted to relieve his suffering. And get his badge... but mostly relieve his suffering... maybe...
awsyoos Well... I doubt every single beast in Old Yharnam is one of Djura’s family members... unless there was some seriously gross inbreeding going on there... maybe thats what triggered the scourge of the beasts... you never know... but, more likely, he feels kinda guilty since he previously took part in the burning of Old Yharnam and killed thousands of innocent civilians... which is pretty terrible... and now he ‘protects’ the place he helped destroy, as a way to try to ‘make amends’ for the terrible stuff he did... that’s why his armor is the ‘Ashen Hunter Set’- he coated his armor in the ashes of Old Yharnam as a ‘mark of guilt/shame’, basically.
Djura would've been good to stand as a Forest Hunter covenant, or Rat King covenant. You'd have beasts on your side and drive people out who kill them, haven't befriended Djura, or joined the covenant. (I feel like the beasts should've been passive after you befriend him. Would've given something to the area. Eh, I'll kill him first run and spare him in playthroughs after that.)

If Djura is still hostile no matter what you do, try this: Instead of warping to the Graveyard of the Darkbeast lamp, warp to Yahar'gul Chapel instead. Then travel on foot to Graveyard of the Darkbeast and onward to Djura as usual.
I recall being able to just run through Old Yharnam without killing the beasts and managing to chat with him. Djura is a badass, and it's a crazy moment when you discover that other hunters have been a part of Gehrman's dream. Also interesting how the Old Yharnam beasts poison you
I'm pretty sure the reason for you having to have witnessed paarl is most likely because that dark beast is the last dark beast, and by witnessing it you gain the insight of why djura decided to protect the beasts and upon coming to this understanding of djura and his motives for defending the beasts then, and only then can you chill with the wielder of a relatively underwhelming weapon without proper gems.
I heard if you get to 100 Insight, consume 5 umbilical cords, and face the Loran Darkbeast in the FRC Chalice Dungeons, if you survive for 10 minutes without taking any damage or attacking it, Djura will appear and congratulate you on becoming a true Beast Whisperer. From then on, all beasts in the game will be non-hostile, npc hunter summons will be replaced by npc friendly beast bosses, and if you slot 3 Abyssal Bolt Gems in a +10 Lost Beast Claw with the Beast’s Embrace rune equipped, you can transform into a Darkbeast. EDIT: OMG I just tried it and it totally works!

If you want an easy kill, equip the cannon, lock onto him and shoot as soon as you climb the ladder. He just looks at you before flying off the tower. Then exit game and reload (after his echoes enter your inventory) and his drops will be next to the gatling turret.
You can actually get a Gatling gun ranged wep of ur own. In the old hunters dlc, where all the pools of blood r, follow the river of blood downhill past all the bloated enemies to a really dark cave where you’ll find a Gatling gun-wielding enemy called djura’s disciple. You don't have to fight the Blood Starved Beast at all. You can take an alternative route to Forest-> Byrgenwerth->Kill Rom-> Yahargul unseen village-> Dark Pearl Beast and meet him again without him firing a single bullet at you ;)
The two legged beasts will come up the first ladder if they chase you down from the top, but I don’t know about the second ladder to the top of Djura’s tower, never tried. Might be interesting to see. My guess would be that their AI is programmed not to follow you up the second ladder.
Someone already tried this, you can search ‘rogue_rouge’(the guy who did this) on TH-cam. Beast can go to the tower but no reaction between Djura and beast. You can lead the beast to kill Djura. Djura won’t turn against you by the beast’s attack. He will die placidly.
@@shesho hm. When you kill Paarl you should have to run to him without travel to Hunters dream. This should to the trick. Alas, Bloodborne sometimes has issues with side quests - i.e. yesterday i've completed an early chikage build to make "the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst build/cosplay". In order to do so, I also need to get the Bloody Rapture rune from the Crow himself; alas during Eileen quest, Henryk didn't spawn, so I'm unable to do so. But, NG+ awaits!
I will never be friends with Djura. After he shot me the very first time I played this game, I always killed the bastard. He will never be forgiven, even after I found out you could befriend him.

puroresuraa you don't seem to have replies enabled on your Google+ account settings, so I hope you see this, but yes its fine to kill beasts before killing BSB, Djura doesn't seem to recognize you or that he previously saw you killing beasts when you do this. In fact its fine to kill them on the way back to Djura after meeting Paarl as well, as long as he doesn't actually see you do it. I only ran past them in the interests of keeping the video short, normally I'd kill all of them on the way back to him since he can't see me on that route anyway so has no idea I did so.
I’ve killed Darkbeast Paarl, Blood-starved Beast, and not attacking beasts on the path to him from either boss arena as intended. Djura is still hostile when I climb up the ladders. Any help on this please?
Alright I solved it, basically I went to Hunter’s Dream, quit, went back in, teleported to Blood-starved Beast’s lamp, and ran to Djura. Hopefully this helps if the same happens to you
love how he claims the beasts to not be harmful yet every five seconds they’re trying to gang up on me he’s a cool character be he can die 🖕 not doing all of that for a gesture and a weapon
Or... you know... just go kill Amelia after Gascoigne then let a snatcher take you. Kill the dark beast and the bloodstarved beast. Then make your way through old yharnam backwards until you reach Djura.
??? What are you even getting at here? Wisdom? Do you mean insight? How is it related to pebbles? It sounds like you are saying I hacked the game somehow, even though this video is over 6 years old, before the first big patch (hence the bad loading times) and long before anyone had successfully hacked the game? And what would be the point? This method has been widely known and used for a very long time. I didn't discover it myself, I just created a crappy video to demonstrate how it works.
@@vegascorp Yes, there are many ways to get insight, including consumables like those. But you can see the exact moment my insight goes up in the video at 3:00 when I encounter Paarl. No consumables are being used at that time and there's even that special visual effect that plays the first time you encounter a new boss. Not to mention he's lying on the ground at the start here, but if you fight him again he's already up and moving around before the fight starts. In any case, I still don't understand what you are really getting at here. What possible purpose would it serve to attempt to manipulate insight numbers in a 6-year-old-video about befriending an NPC?

I still can’t believe to this day. That he doesn’t have much lore in the Bloodborne universe. Not to mention much to really give the player.
So many years and I just found this out today...
100%ing is some complex shit. One day I'll complete a souls game totally.
HE GIVES YOU AN EMOTE?!?!? this just went from mild interest in a possible glitch to THIS IS CONTENT AND I MUST PLAY IT AGAIN AND GET THAT EMOTE!
I wonder what happens if you lead some of the beasts in Old Yarham up the ladders to Djura, will he fight them? Or will they just gang up on you?
Surely nothing because its impossible to get a beast there so im sure they didnt programed it for that
The two legged beasts will come up the first ladder if they chase you down from the top, but I don’t know about the second ladder to the top of Djura’s tower, never tried.

How crazy would it be if you befriended him and then All the beasts of old Yarnam were like "Hey this guy knows Djura. He's alright, go on through."
That’s the same guy who voice king vendrick in dark souls 2. The guy has an amazing voice
I followed all these steps perfectly and he still shoots me at the top of the ladder.
Help?
You just have to fight Paarl. Nothing more; win or lose - doesn't matter
Happened the same to me. Fought and beat the Paarl, but Djura still tried to kill me.
The voice acting is amazing
Goddamnit. When I got up there I thought he was gonna be hostile and so I started swinging at him before I could talk to him.
"they don't mean harm to anyone"
Yeah... Did you talk to them about that? They try to kill me on sight when I hadn't done anything!
If you run up on the roof then quickly go back down the ladder he'll try to follow you and fall, then just go collect your badge.
Now how am I supposed to feel about this after all those years and all the play throughs while having no clue about it!???
Dude that's cool I'll definitely try that out! it shows a bit of Mercy in the game if you like playing the game like that. lol
The giant metal backpack this dude is wearing gives off anime schoolgirl vibes which is rather funny x
I will never be friends with Djura. After he shot me the very first time I played this game, I always killed the bastard. He will never be forgiven, even after I found out you could befriend him.
If you have trouble beating him just as soon as you climb his tower lock on and just keep shooting him with the gun until he falls off
Letting another dangerous human live like Batman.. Clever
Every time I fight him he backs up off the building.
i pushed Djura off the tower but he is still alive with his full health. Can I still befriend him?
rubin Noo... That's like killing someone's family then telling him/her if he/she wants to be friends
rubin Ik it's 8 months but
rubin yes
Sure. Just say, "It's just a prank, bro!"
The beasts try to kill, I kill them. Defend beasts trying to kill me, I kill you. He breaks the non aggression principal, he get what's coming to him.
you guys sure are good friends.
5:24 that actually gave me half a heart attack because i didnt expect him to just stop oml XD
Thanks for this. I find fighting him really annoying and this is a lot easier and more rewarding.
Mind blown. Love it. Gonna have to try this on my next play through.
Wow I never new you could do that!
Thank you so much! l'll try this the next time l play... Already killed paarl but couldn't find the route l should take. Always wanted to befriend him and use his weapon!
He jumped off the ledge and ended himself when I got up there.
its frustrating how much better this runs on ps4 than ps5
Wow I had no idea this was possible. Nice find !!
I killed him the first time... And the second... And the third... It's too difficult remember all these thing for a gesture.
puroresuraa you don't seem to have replies enabled on your Google+ account settings, so I hope you see this, but yes its fine to kill beasts before killing BSB, Djura doesn't seem to recognize you or that he previously saw you killing beasts when you do this. In fact its fine to kill them on the way back to Djura after meeting Paarl as well, as long as he doesn't actually see you do it. I only ran past them in the interests of keeping the video short, normally I'd kill all of them on the way back to him since he can't see me on that route anyway so has no idea I did so.
Wht do u mean by BSB ?!
+Adeeb Bokhari blood starved beast I'm guessing
00:31 that scares the shit out of me every time, I forget about it every time I go here
Djuras voice is so relaxing
You can do this too if u go to old yharnam and do the skip after the skip he gives u the same text
I haven't attacked any monsters but anytime I come back I get some hostile dialouge, But when I get up there he's still Friendly
Anyone else take a wrong turn and accidentally walked in front of the church permanently fucking up your chances with Djura?
Djura definitely just whooped my ass while I was walking up to him 😂😂😂
He's a pretty friendly guy after all
Doing this all for a damn gesture, I don’t care I WANT THAT GESTURE DAMMIT!
His voice doesn't echo when he kills you the other time.
Hopefully this helps if the same happens to you
best method so far, good video
You could play the game normal up to Ya'hargul then defeat the Electric Boogaloo and sneak up behind him.
love how he claims the beasts to not be harmful yet every five seconds they’re trying to gang up on me he’s a cool character be he can die 🖕 not doing all of that for a gesture and a weapon
good video though
Well you should do it because you know, trophy
But if you kill him he will drop that badge so just for a gesture and some more dialogue,do whatever you want
Or... you know... just go kill Amelia after Gascoigne then let a snatcher take you. Kill the dark beast and the bloodstarved beast. Then make your way through old yharnam backwards until you reach Djura.
He sounds like johnny depp
Lol. To me, he sounded more like Tom Hardy
I just gave him a 'gentle push' and ran his pockets
Was nothing as of last night but I'll check again
So i didnt have to push him off a building
Djura is the closest to a good guy there is in vanilla Bloodborne and you can hardly talk to him
When you go into paarl you can see your pebble indicate use. I'm guessing that's actually wisdom you were able to cover up somehow.
@@Rubikant calm down. I meant madman knowledge, just said great ones wisdom. They give insight as a consumable right? Busted.
