Good morning Dr Rupa! I subscribed to your channel to understand more about vision and have been wearing glasses since I was 5 or 6 years old. Can you tell me please that incorrectly selected glasses can damage your eyesight? We moved to Florida not long ago, and when we lived in Kentucky, my doctor wrote me a prescription about 1.5 years ago for 3.5 D, and this new doctor, I came with my mother to him, prescribed glasses for -5D. It seems to me that I see very clearly in new lenses only in the morning, and in the evening, especially in the evening, my eyes get tired and begin to itch. I really want to know your verdict, what can it be with me or are these very strong lenses for me and this new doctor did something wrong and didn’t choose my prescription well for me? With great respect to you and I really hope that my question will not remain unanswered. I will be 16 years old already in the summer and everything is not clearly visible in old glasses, although I am sitting at the second desk from the teacher.
I now started so i haven't seen any improvement as yet, but i will let u no. Thanks so much for responding. Just want to give a shout out to TH-cam, and all these doctors that send their videos that is so helpful to the viewers. Thank u all so much.
Yes, I take fish oil at a dose of 2000 mg per day for dry eye and my symptoms have decreased 75%. I also have had both dry and wet md, and have taken AREDS 2. The remission of the MD actually happened with massive exercise outdoors and a significant change in diet. The exercise was more than trekking 6-10 miles per day.
I am Canadian and was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration (or dominant drusen depending upon the ophthalmologist) in my right eye at age 19. I have been taking a multivitamin for eye health called Vitalux AND additional lutein and so far, my vision has been stable almost 3 decades later. I do not think you can buy this vitamin in the USA, but I am sure there must be something similar. I really am enjoying your videos, thank you Dr. Rupa.
I'm so glad you found something that was helpful for you. Thanks for sharing that, Michelle! I appreciate you being here. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see that I haven't posted about yet!
Thank you Dr Rupa for sharing this information about Eye Health. I’ve been studying and living a Holistic Wellness for over 20 years. I totally believe in prevention and I feel this video will help many people. Stay blessed 💜
Dr. Wong is there Eye drops that will help prevent cateracts? Or delay the onset of them. I have ITP....I take Promacta for it...side effect is cataracts...
Dr. Rupa Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule & sharing such useful information. I would like to request you to pls do a video on safety of using Cysteamine 5% creams (15 mins wash-off products) e.g cyspera cream & all purpose cysteamine cream. Are these safe to be used around the eye area. Would this get absorbed through the thin undereye skin & end up into the eye structures. I hope you will upload this video soon. Thanks
Of course! Glad to share. I will add your request to my list. Thank you so much for the suggestion! Please make sure you are subscribed and click the bell so you will see when I post it. Thank you for watching 🤗
hi doctor I got injured with resistance band they snapped on my eyes not the metal part the bands heart me as the hook from where they were attached broke accidently my eyes went red for 3hr but after that they got normal and also I visited the doctor he examined my eye with direct retinoscope and said that everything is good its been 3 weeks now and also on observing very carefully by looking into the sky at day time I am seeing some floaters are they normal or they are a matter of concern so can I start my strength training what measure I can take to protect my eyes can I wear safety googles which are made up of polycarbonate so that my eyes don't get injured again or can the impact of resistance bands can break those safety glasses pls reply
Hi Dr. Rupa, can you help me out with a question? I suffer from dry eyes and have been using eye drops for many years. The drops I use comes in tiny 8 ml vials. After use, I throw the vial away with the remaining liquid because on the packet it says that once a vial is opened and used it should be thrown out. But then a Chemist told me that the lid could be closed and whatever remains in the vial could be used for up to 9 hours and then discarded. Should I do as the chemist told me and reuse the vial after I open it? They are Non-preservative drops. Thank you. I enjoy watching your videos
Hiya to our fav purple tresses eye doc😆 Canada does not check supplements either...so bad. Our FDA doesn't allow in A LOT of bad stuff at least. I 'too' read a lot of studies etc so I luv that you incorporate.
Very interesting! I'm taking supplements for MD since my mom had it & I'm showing signs. I'll have to compare what I'm talking to what's in the 2nd study. Regarding near-sightedness in kids - I had read some time ago that kids who read a lot are more likely to be myopic. (And now kids have their eyes on their smartphones & computers). My hypothesis was that kids who don't read probably spend more time looking at things in the distance, so those muscles develop more. I haven't tested it. 😊
I am a total supporter of Rupa's efforts for myopia prevention - for her own children. I an an Electrical Engineer, and see objective science supporting her efforts. Atropine almost prevents "accommodation for near" and Rupa keeps her child's eyes "off the cell phone". Intelligent prevention is the only thing that will ever "work".
I hope implementing new vitamins helps! You aren't totally wrong about your thoughts. I touch on that in this video at 2:55 - th-cam.com/video/p1AQ9wVYTGQ/w-d-xo.html

For glaucoma R there brands you can suggest dr rupa i will like to take it along my food bcuz perhaps the vitamins i get from is not sufficient. Also does supplements wiz bilberry extract, lutein help? Pls suggest the brand for me.
My vit A and E are in normal limits. Omega 3 a slight overdose and I have some vit C deficit which I’m working on. But at 42 I already don’t see anymore without glasses. :/
Fish oil is a NO NO for me since I'm passed my menopause even, because it acts as an estrogen and I experience some monthly bleeding. I know another woman who that happened to. But I now take Cod Liver Oil where there is enough of a difference that I don't have that problem and have been taking it for a number of years. I also take Vitamin D3. I had problems with Lutein but I take Beta Carotene every morning. I don't wear glasses when I'm driving for looking into a distance because they are absolute useless. I feel like my close up vision can be better. But I do wear readers. I sure eat plenty of eggs. Those top 3 vitamins are in my multivitamins for women. But I came here for a review on Ananēoō eye formula. I just think it is just another snake oil treatment because they only sell this stuff on it's website where I can't find outside reviews.

Hi Dr. Rupa.
No, vitamin no help.
What makes me happy, is to know you help your kids by:
1) Keep nose off the page, by your persistence.
2) Atropine.
Yes thanks
That's alot of zinc, is that amount safe to take daily?

Is there a Supplement that helps dissolve floaters, or keep the vitreous fluid from coagulating in the first place?
A study shown it was bromlain in pineapples
The bromelain study was debunked. It’s inaccurate.
