Hi Dr. Rupa, I deeply appreciate the advice you provide to the general public. You helping your own three children, with myopia prevention, is an example for all of us!
RECOVERED! I’ve been suffering from painful dry eyes at night. My doctor and I blamed my CPAP. Well, i lost 170 lbs and no longer use a CPAP. My eyes did not improve. I have tried just about everything. Recently, I realized that my eyes were no longer dry nor were they painful. I am on a Keto/sometimes carnivore way of eating (thus the huge weight loss). The only thing I have done differently in the past couple of months was to add calf liver to my diet. Seems to me that the liver gave me the missing link. Hope that can help someone.
Hi Dr. Rupa! I was dealing with one severely dry, red, and painful eye for months. Mine ended up being basal cell carcinoma in the bottom lid. It’s been a year & a half since surgery, but the incision caused the lashes in that location to grow toward my eyeball, which gets irritating when they grow back after plucking them out. I don’t expect that there’s much I can do. Thankfully the surgery did remedy the dryness and irritation. Love your videos.😄
Thanks Dr. Rupa! Could you talk about how to apply the ointment? The tube says not to touch it to any surface, but I find it's impossible to apply if you follow the directions as listed on the container. I use Genteal, which has really helped during our cold winters when heating the outside air makes low humidity absurdly low. The long version of this request: I find that it says to dispense the gel into a pouch made by gently pulling out the lower eyelid and squeezing out 1/4 inch of the ointment. However, ointment just sticks to itself and if you pull the tube away it takes the ointment away with it. I'd appreciate it if there is an alternative method.
What can one do (who's been type 2 diabetic for 8 years and only a few months ago got their sugar levels under control) who's eyes started to bleed in a few spots on both eyes? What are the possible outcomes? I feel most type 2 diabetics don't know too much about diabetes and eye health. I'm past the be cautious stage and now in the 'make the best out of what I have left' stage. Thank you for creating this channel and making us care about our vision and not take it for granted.
first i used to get dry eyes from screen time, second they advanced to dry eyes during sleeping and caused pains in the mornings. Fortunately after 15 years of dry eyes hell I could find medicines in homeopathy which cured my dry eyes. Hope this helps someone... God bless...
Thank you Dr.Rupa your videos are always helpful. My question is:I did laser retinopexy on both eyes due to retinal tear 4 months ago, is there any possibility to do LASIK, knowing that I'm 37 yrs old. Thanks again🌹
Thank you so much! I have been experiencing these symptoms in my left eye , and that’s the eye I had cataract surgery. Should I see a specialist or just use my drops more often? Some days are worse than others…
@@DrRupaWong Thank you for taking the time to reply! I appreciate it. I had a yearly check up, but this issue started immediately after my yearly exam! It stopped, then it started again. I will call to see my specialist. Thank you!!😍😍🌸😊
I'd almost consider traveling from TN to see this Dr. I woke up a few months ago and looked in the mirror and my right eye was blood red. About 3 days later it went away. A month or so later it came back. I went to my MD and she said I had pink eye. It didn't hurt but was red. I did the drops and it went away but it's back again. This time it is a little itchy and uncomfortable. My eyelid is a little swollen too. I have a sting in my eye occassionally thats like a bee sting. I've been doing the drops every 3 hours as faithful as possible for 3 days now and the redness is better. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reminder, Dr. Rupa! My eyes have been uncomfortable lately, especially in the morning. Time to get the drops 😊
I hope it helps!!
I wear a well fitted eye mask at night, especially since I have a CPAP and don't want possible air gusts blowing in my eyes. Really helps.
Dr. Rupa, thank you very much , you are the best. 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼♥♥♥🌹🌹🌹

I've never heard of this in the eye. How was you diagnosed if you don't mind me asking.

Definitely experiencing the dry eyes more often after getting the PRK laser
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. 😥
My eyes are dry too after laser in August 😢
CPAP machines also can cause dry eyes from air leak around the masks. Thank you for the recommended eye ointment.
Glad to help! For sure. It can.

The most common complication of LASIK is dry eyes. You could always call your surgeon and see what they have to say. I hope it gets better soon 💕💕

If you haven't had a check in the last year, go ahead and get one. If you have and the drops don't work, see your specialist. :)
