    The fireworks are actually a pyrotechnics class, they teach people pyrotechnics, the people of havasu actually made it an annual thing. It was never meant as a show

    Hello guys, we hope you are doing well and are staying safe.
    The lockdown here in Sacramento was just tightened down more today. No one can come visit in your house. So we will not be having our annual Easter gathering. Anyway, hubby and I liked the video, especially the lake views. Nice to see your puppies enjoying the water. Our dog will only swim in lakes, never in our pool. We wish you peace, laughter and safe travels.
    HAPPY EASTER! 🐰

      Apparently the person who brought London Bridge thought they were getting, what is actually called, Tower Bridge in London.

      Thank you, Gayla! So sorry to hear of the further restrictions in Sacramento, I know Easter was weird for everyone this year. Our dogs love the water, our last house had a pool and if it got hot enough they would get in but they never seemed to enjoy as much as natural bodies of water. We’re happy to hear you and the Mr. enjoyed the video - as always, thank you for watching and commenting! Happy Easter back at ya!!

      @EmbracingDetours  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both fun places! And, I imagine, on opposite ends of the temperature spectrum - I know Lake Havasu City is crazy hot in the summer and Thermopolis must be crazy cold in the winter being in WY. You just need to be a snowbird between those 2 cities!!

    Out in the middle of a desert, great place to do the fireworks. We live near a small town in NW IN they have done the same type of marketing displays at the local county fair-grounds that is right on the edge of town, next to the dog shelter. It is such a horrible place for it. We live about 8 miles from it and we can feel the shakes. It goes on for several nights and disrupts everyone. Yep!! Keep it in the desert!

    • @EmbracingDetours
      @EmbracingDetours  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmbracingDetours They do move them, they get farmed out to homes in the community but, a couple years they had an awful lot of critters to temporarily re-home. People that live nearby have windows break and can you imagine the mental state of a lot of the veterans in the area, when they are being bombarded in their own homes? Yes, it does bring a lot of money into the community for a few days but, not really worth it.

    OMG, We were & still are in Havasu when you were here. I love u both & enjoy watching you videos. Wished I could have ran into & met you both. We are here till the COVID-19 is over. Hopefully soon & it doesn't go through the summer. We live full time in our 5th wheel & it gets super hot here & the insulation in RV's aren't so good. Once it's safe to travel once again we are heading to Fish Creek, Wi. which is in Door County. It's beautiful there, if you ever are back in that area you must go to Julie's Cafe with the big purple chair, my nephew & niece are the owners. Safe travels to u both & hope to see u on the road.... Take Care

    Great vlog, we're glad you visited our city! I think it's important to know that the time between firework sets was filled with announcements detailing various information about them: Who made it, where they're from, the order number, etc. You can hear this either at the grandstands or over the local radio stations. The pyrotechnics show is basically a sales presentation for buyers of fireworks, not necessarily spectators. Also noteworthy: the bridge was purchased at an auction and the sellers had no idea where it was going! $2M well spent.

    Funny, we were at Cat-Tail Cove Feb 14, Friday. We also stayed in the overflow, and I flew that lakeside trail you were on with my drone. We saw the Friday night show of the 3 night fireworks demos. Although it was unique, and saw fireworks we hadn't seen before, we decided to move one and continue on our trip eastward to Scottsdale. We didn't stay for Sat night, but we heard the Saturday night show is the best, so maybe next time.

    We found that we had to be careful scoping out a lot of the boondocking areas, especially with our low slung Airstream. Several area approaches were relatively steeply dipped, which wouldn’t be concerning to most RV’s. Thanks for another great video.

    We drove through that area in late October and tried to find a place to boondock north of Lake Havasu City. We had a hard time finding something because it was later in the day and there were still a lot of people in the area. We would have loved to have found a place near the water. Glad you found a nice spot to camp. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for sharing your journey. We love to see your videos. Stay safe!!

    • @EmbracingDetours
      @EmbracingDetours  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When we scouted out the various boondocking options, Craggy Wash BLM just north of LHC was our favorite but entirely too busy and many people that looked like they had far outstayed their 14 day limit. Of all the public land places we checked none were on the water, but if you had the ability to get up high enough on The Steps you could get a really nice view of the Colorado River. Lake Havasu State Park offered overflow parking just like Cattail Cover SP did, but theirs was right on the river which was pretty nice. We decided against that because we didn’t want to pay to dry camp but it is an option if you want to be as close to the river as possible. We are doing well, thanks for asking - same to you!

    • @EmbracingDetours
      @EmbracingDetours  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Steve & Carolyn 😊Honestly, it was kind of a fluke. We suspected the torque converter was always the problem after the rebuild, but it didn't make sense because it was supposed to be the very similar specs to the torque converter it was replacing. It wasn't until the shop called the distributor, that we found out they had shipped the wrong type causing our new problem. It was only slightly different without the trailer, but once we added weight it was VERY apparent something wasn't right. Sorry I don't have a clearer answer for you. Thank you for watching and commenting.

      Thank you, Loran! I had the same reaction as you about the London Bridge. Someone else commented above that the bridge was purchased at auction for $2M... I can't imagine the money and labor it took to deconstruct it, ship it over to the States and reconstruct it. But, I guess it's served its purpose by attracting people to the area so perhaps a smart idea and money well spent. Glad you enjoyed, as always thanks for watching and commenting 😊

      Thank you, Sean! We have been to Sedona but it was pre-RV and YT channel so unfortunately, no video 🙁It's a wonderful place and we do look forward to returning one day in the RV and making a video, but before repeating places we want to visit places we haven't seen yet first.

      @@EmbracingDetours ...completely understandable. Although there are places we'd love to return to, Pike's Peak in Colorado, Angels Landing in Utah, Hollywood, there are so many other places we'd want to visit before we revisit those other places. Again, continue to be safe. Toilet paper is becoming easier to find, 😁 Keep your hands clean and don't touch your face. But seriously, please take care. I love your videos! ❤

    Thank you so much for your great videos! I am a full time van dweller native aridzonian. My dream trip is the 191 highway. I have traveled on most the Arizona parts. The 191 at most the southern point is Douglas AZ and ends at the Canadian Border. Every fifty to a hundred miles along, and small excursions off the 191 are National parks, Monuments, State parks, Natural areas, Preserves, Mines ( you literally drive though an open pit copper mine on the 191), and the list goes on and on. I could spend a half a year exploring this route. Their are no videos of the entire route. Most of the road is two lane. Not very well traveled at all. I think you guys would really enjoy this trip. Check it out on google maps! Happy trails!

      Oh wow, this is the first we'd heard of U.S. Route 191, thank you so much for the introduction! Two lane back roads, not well traveled, small excursions every every hundred miles or so... It sounds perfect 😍 We'll add it to our list, thank you again Glenn!!

    I started going to Lake Havasu in 1964 I was 10 years old the London Bridge is still in London Cattail Cove wasn't built we would launch her boat at midnight down by the dam put all our camping stuff in and take off across the lake I find a camp spot on the Arizona side Arizona state campground dollar night the campgrounds were spread out so we could let her dogs run loose all weekend Camp right on the shore then they put in the bridge built Cattail Cove it was a dirt road at first then we start going to Cattail Cove cuz we like to camp just south of there at satellite Cove I used to love going water skiing at Twilight when the water was like glass not another boat on the lake when we would leave cat tail on Sunday we'd see maybe two or three people camping there we didn't know whether to laugh at them or feel sorry for them being so far away from the water being so close to one another with their dogs on a leash the last time I was there 1990 helicopter flew 10 ft over the boat looking to see if I had beer luckily I didn't I was on my way to get more that was my last trip I swore I'd never go back I know people that have gotten infections from the pollution in the water in the canal by the bridge they have carbon monoxide sensors in the canal when it gets too bad alarm goes off and everybody has to shut off their boat to keep people from dying in my day it was a place to go to be wild and free now it's a place to go on vacation I'm come home on probation I think I know how the Native Americans feel when they see the land they love overtaken by prosperity I have love in my heart Lake Havasu but I'll never go back oil bag mark

    Sounds like maybe some gun shy training may help the dogs deal with fireworks. I had a weimaraner that I had to get trained for gun shots and training him to bird hunt. Those are hunting dogs. Some professional training should cure them, at least youtube it and see if there is self help.
