Marketing words aside, the Edge is the best crossover they’ve ever had. It’s a shame that Ford never learned how to style them for elegance. The closest they ever got was the Lincoln version. Back to the Escape. I had the Lincoln version. The packaging was good, but I moved on because the ride wasn’t very good due to the short wheelbase. The build quality was just okay.
@@nateisright I believe Ford is using the Mach E as replacement to the Edge. Both 2 row CUVs and similar overall dimensions. Ford just added a heat pump to 2025 Mach E and reduced the price $3,500 on the Select meaning with the subsidy close to $31,000. Other trims got the reduction also.
@@michaelsheedy Interesting. Still think Ford would sell more if they took the Mustang name off. One more, at least. My wife would not consider the MME because “that’s not a Mustang.”
Ford Edge was the real deal. Competed with all top mid size suvs without a hiccups. Got overlooked in comparisons and now we are left with eacape as the only option.
@@damian4351 There is the Bronco Sport too, but it is a bit smaller than the Escape. The Escape is a compact, and the Bronco Sport is s subcompact sized similar to Subaru Crosstrek, and both have standard AWD.
Sure, because the billions of smart phones and tablet computers on Earth need some buttons and knobs.😂 Even better than buttons and knobs in cars, is one button on the steering wheel for voice control of all needed functions while driving. It's much safer and better than reaching for buttons and knobs on a dashboard.
I'm not a fan of that large screen at all, it's like having a tv mounted to the dash. Foolish design for an automobile, and a potential safety hazard. The screen on the base model is big enough for me.
@@SeattleMartin i relate its getting out of hand, plus the long term reliability goes down with these tech loaded cars. still love my Ford escape tho...
I know many folks who want a very nice interior, but want a small vehicle due to their daily parking situation. Parking garage with small stalls or looking for street parking requiring parallel parking.
The platinum is, in the context of that vehicle and its variations, signifies that it's the best in its options, features, and quality. Keyword is in context
When showcasing a new vehicle cleanliness and detailing are key. I don't care for fords. I had 3 escapes and all had recalls and issues. They look sharp but quality matters
I just test drove both 2024 platinum and ST.Elite. great horsepower but everyone in reviews said comfortable and some how found seats uncomfortable?, anyone else? Yes cabin could be updated. My previous older Edge and older escape titanium seats were more comfortable. Great discount 3500 but not comfortable for me like outside exterior and horsepower.
St elite is alot better. Full panoramic sunroof. Better rims and Diamond leather. In addition to flat bottom steering wheel and carbon fiber over silver dash
Former Ford/Mercury owner, multiple models. After daughter's Ford Focus ST experience with poor quality? Crazy bad transmission and bad intertior trim feel and durability. No more Ford products for us. Poor quality for the price.
For some reason Ford has never had what I would consider to be "nice" interiors. Even fifty and sixty thousand dollar top trim Explorers and Edges look like the inside of a police car or a taxi cab.
My brother bought a brand new ford focus with all the bells and whistles. It was the biggest piece of junk ever. Same time frame my stepdad bought a base model focus as a work runner, the base model is still like new, minus the Minnesota salt deterioration and front end needing some love.
If you don't get the tech package, you get the 8 inch screen with physical controls. Take your pick.

Agreed. I bought edge 2022, and it is awesome.

I agree
I recently test drove this was pretty nice however I hated the climate controls in the screen though.

I would like to see the Ford Edge have cooled seats also.
Ford decontented the Active and reduced its price to $27,995. I believe most other trims too with decontenting.
What is the cca rating of the factory installed 12 volt battery? On my 2023 Escape, the 470 amp battery was not sufficient to run all the electronics.

Platinum with no sunroof? The rims are horrible. They want 39gs for that? They put that huge infotainment system on the dashboard. No thanks. 👎🏾

But it’s still mid-tier at best… the turbo 2.0 it has is embarrassing next to Mazdas 2.5T… really the CX-5 outclasses this in every way
Put the Wiper under the rear spoiler it clean up the back perfect

Why would they put the dial shifter next to where drinks could spill on it?

While looking in the hood, I didn’t notice much reliability:(
