I’m one of the designers involved on that facelift. The reason why the headlights are sticking up so much was because we had to carry over the front fender panel of the pre-facelift version. The goal was still to have more slim and elegant looking lamp so that’s why we ended up doing this kicking up outer shape ;)

You guys nailed the exterior design. Wished the interior was better, but it's still decent. Not as good as a Kia Sportage.

I purchased an escape recently and i love it i do have a question though. Why did ford not make an actual escape ST? Use the mustangs 2.3L eco. Missed opportunity in my opinion

      That distracting big screen. Ugh.

@@freshtowels3917, UK user here. My niece picked up a Sportage recently. Good to look at vehicle, but when you sit in a "take in" the interior, it feels lower quality and not so well laid out. Also, one thing I dislike on any car is blanking plates where features are not present and the Kia has many of those. As for the display, it's visually quite imposing, but too much spread over a wide area. For me, had they kept the physical AC controls, it would be a perfect setup. A physical indented bar where the lower static screen is would've been perfect.

Just recently purchased my ST in white and I definitely agree about the headlight design and your redesign recommendation, that looks WAAAY better 👌🏾💪🏾

This was an excellent refresh by Ford. They took a boring design and added just enough flare to make it classically stylish.

Those seats are spectacular from the factory. They look after market. Just amazing seats. My favorite is the 2018 though because I have it & mine still has the analog gauge cluster & physical climate control.

2:40 Redesigned headlights look way way better, those original headlights remind me of pre-refreshed Elantra and maybe a bit too Asian/Korean auto designs, not so Ford-ish.

Can you turn off the heads up thing so it doesnt pop up?

As a cost option, I'd personally not bother with it.

How quiet is it to drive on the highway compared to the Mavrick 2.0L XLT? The Mavrick in, XLT AWD 2.0L EcoBoost is nearly $4,000 cheaper, offers similar interior space but its a pickup truck. For $42k CAD I can get the Mavrick Tremor XLT, $42k CAD is the cheapest 2.0L AWD Escape but won't offer the off road performance of the Tremor, and I think a Mavrick Tremor will hold its value better.

The US version has no power folding side mirrors and no puddle lamps but here in EU we get all these in the standard :)

it's trying very hard to be a 2nd gen X3 .. and in typical ford fashion, failing miserably... not that the X3 was any great shakes.. but this thing.. yeesh

I don’t know why you keep calling that Subaru Forester a Ford.
Edit: it could actually be called quite a few different cars. Point being it doesn’t scream ford. It borrows from every brand there is. So it has no recognizable brand identity.
