- Most kayak accessories or essentials videos aren't really much help. Do you really need someone to tell you that you need a paddle? I share 6 kinda unique accessories that I have added to my kayak and Bass Raider, that make a big difference for me when I'm on the water. I hope you enjoy and find some value!

@drkekelmrhyde cicadas...ugh! Biting flies are about to take over here shortly. I'm not sure what kept swarming me last month but it was miserable. Mosquitoes can be held off some with deet, but many other insects aren't phased by it. So I got the netting and ear plugs. I won't go out again without having them available if needed. Great suggestions! I have a battery pack in a small water tight box that I use to power my yak cam while I'm fishing, that way I don't worry about digital camera batteries going dead. Ugly hat??? Looks a lot like my hat...I think it looks distinguished 😅😂. I have also had basil cell removed. I'm looking up those glasses as soon as I submit this comment 👍🏻

thank you. yes i'm part of your older demographic. 67, My ride is a twin troller 10 which is a small plastic boat and i also have to be efficient with my cargo.
1. the pee bottle. well i just use an empty water or juice bottle and toss it when i'm done. free. battery bank , big yes. i do use my cell phone and use it to track my route and find my way home on unfamiliar waters. also, family can track me.i slip a cut up credit card in my phone case (with a tag hanging out of charging port with a hole ) to tether my phone (see fishing hacks video). sunscreen and hat..big yes. but your hands are very vulnerable. gloves or repeat sunscrean. carefull with the livewell if you have one. fish don't like sunscreen. medical kit yes. i just have a self adhesive ace type wrap. just in case of a bad bleed. can save your life if you are on blood thinners. hemostats will pull a splinter and good for removing hooks from fish and nets. i would add an energy bar, a hand held pruning shear to cut small branch to retrieve your expensive bait , not if, but when it gets caught on. a combo plyer wire cutter to cut a hook if needed..has for me, an air horn for crazy other boater alert, a heavy lead wt on a string to knock of stuck baits from bottom cover, the bug net, great idea, will buy one today. i just want to say as an aside for the pleasure angler.. I fish tournements with guys in big bass boats, but i tend to catch more fish on my little "pond' boat. keep it simple and safe. you don't need to travel 70 mph to find fish. there all around if you take time use your head more than gas and electronics....and, you'll have more fun! joining a bass fishing club has taught me much about technique and bass behavior, but kayak and small boat fishing rules for me. sorry for the long comments.

(Tried to like but it wouldn't let me) I researched that boat but I just couldn't pull the trigger on that price tag 💰 I am going to add pruning shears pronto...what a great idea! And yes, I carry an air horn too. Especially in case I encounter a curious alligator 🐊 I try to apply lotion type sunscreen so the over spray doesn't get in the water. Not healthy for the environment. I'm really hoping the bugs aren't bad tomorrow, but I'll be ready just in case. I used to fish out of my friend's bass boat and I agree with you. Small boat fishing is better!!! Thanks again my friend! Tight lines.
#1 definitely on my list to buy now. #2 is nice, I use a Peak Tea jug😂 as far as bugs I use Avon Skin So Soft spray. Some people don't like to use a spray but being as I have Aplha Gal Syndrome and keep cans of it everywhere cause it gets rid of ticks also. I usually put it on at the truck and it l lasts a whole fishing day. #5 is nice gona pick one of those also, we just assume out phone will last all day but I also use it to listen to music when traveling from hole to hole. I have a ugly hat and use sunscreen also. One thing I recommend with the ugly hat is get one with a cord caise I lost 2 because the wind blew them off and couldn't retrieve them. @monzsterman very nice to hear from you sir and thank you for the compliment! I haven't seen Skin So Soft in years, but I remember people saying it was good for repelling bugs. I try not to put repellent on my face if I can help it, so the netting will have to do. I wouldn't be able to function without the reading glasses 🤓. I just don't see so well anymore close up. I wish I would have covered up more when I was younger but that wasn't "cool" so now I get to have chunks cut off my head and face 😆 I wear long sleeves and a hat now just about anytime I am outside.
