@@z-makh3774 Loquats are juicy, sweet and tangy and just explodes in your mouth. The green ones are made into a pickle which is spicy and sour. Absolutely delicious 😋😋

This fruit is good for the lungs and for having a cough. They make cough syrup out of it. I usually make that dessert at home too. Rose thanks for sharing . Take care sister. God bless!

Hi! This is so interesting to me. Is the cough syrup strictly out of loquats only? My in-laws have a big tree and no one ever touches the fruit. 😊
How do they taste when eating them raw?
@@mindysmom6132 Actually it’s a Chinese cough, sore throat syrup. They have over 15 kind of Chinese medicinal ingredients that makes the syrup plus the loquat fruit and the leaves too.

My mom was from Japan, and w she used to talk about them every now again, but I don’t think she knew anything about them being used for cough remedies. Thank you for answering my question. 🥰

We pickle the green fruit in spices and oil. Similar to Achar. Served as a condiment with vegetarian dishes. It's delicious eaten ripe or pickled. Watching from JHB South Africa

Loquats are my all-time favorite fruit. Here in the U.S, unless you grow your own, they are impossible to find. So happy to see the abundance of food types you guys have access to where you live!

I sometimes adjust the speed of the video to .75x and that helps

@@saraharmstrong8742 @TheRoxy I did change the speed. It helped. Thank you for that suggestion though. The only time I’ve messed with the speed of a video, was to slow it down to learn a dance move. The color of the texts is to light. I tried to see if I could change the text on my side. Her text color is more of a outline of letter, then the faintest of color.

I have that same tree in the back yard and I love the plums. Here we call them Chinese plums and they're delicious. 😋. I would love for you to make a cook book teaching how to turn them into jams/preserves.

It’s called loquat. It’s typically made into an herbal cough medicine with honey and chuanbei (the little packet of white powder she added at the end).
We call these Japanese plums in my area! We have several trees on our property but the squirrels and birds usually steal and eat most of them before they even get ripe! So I haven't eaten any in many many years!!😊

We pick loquats in Bermuda! They ripen in February and November. People young and old, stop to pick them from trees growing near the road or in neighborhood. We make liquor jam.
