      @@ItalianoYMexicano it's holds to Computer Generated graphics... Not AI... Where the artist draws the first 'cell' and the last or a sequence with large gags, that then a computer software generates the 'missing cells' ~ I would say because of how the dynamic movement of the Craft is shown near the start and how the background flows independent of animation... I’m glad people like his work, but the comparisons of his work being on par or exceeding the excellent hand-drawn artistry of the many 90’s anime are either intentionally misleading or from a place of ignorance from someone who is probably too young to have seen the better work from the 90’s that they are comparing it too. Or old enough and desensitized enough to what excellent animation looks like to have forgotten.
      Reference Cyber City Oedo 808 or Ninja Scroll for two of many example of better works that that perhaps inspires these computer drawn images in the video.
      The styling, while similar, is definitely not the same and is drastically different in some ways (character movement). Which makes the comparison even more odd to the 90’s anime.
      The degree to which the different style appeals to your personal preference and is as good or better in your subjective experience is great for you.
      The degree to which you want to compare it to the anime of the 90’s according to the styling of 90’s anime….it’s not comparable…or it’s objectively worse.

      Which is what it does in the first film. There's a few instances where it more or less acts with disinterest towards the crew because it can just bide it's time and kill them at it's leisure. It gives it a very malevolent unsettling feeling that isn't really matched by the some of the later more animalistic depictions where it's scuttling around like a rabid dog.
      The fact that it moves with purpose more like a serial killer than an animal is what makes it extra terrifying.

      I must admit, I was fully expecting the movie to close with the reveal that the facehugger which escaped in the middle of the film was on the driller... But that would be kinda improbable (why would it have crawled out to an uninhabited machine on the exterior of the Thanatos?), and also rather cliched. XD
      But yeah, Ashlin is basically screwed unless she gets INSANELY lucky and another illegal mining ship turns up to mine the same asteroid she was after. As STIPanda says though, hypoxia is not really the worst way to go. In the early stages as carbon dioxide begins to build up, you will start to develop feelings of fear and panic, but as it progresses, the lack of oxygen actually generates a weirdly euphoric sensation in the brain just before you lose consciousness.

      @Zaxares 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@SA80TAGE Based on xenomorph lore, a drone's behaviour can vary a lot depending on whether or not a Queen is in the area. Individually, drones are not terribly smart. The novels/comics say that they're only about as intelligent as an average dog, so things like forward planning and resource conservation are not things they would consider. This one was probably already agitated from the attempt to blow it out into space, and so it's now on a "destroy all threats" mode. If a Queen was guiding its actions, it would likely try to incapacitate both Ashlin and the captain in order to provide more hosts for breeding, but since none is around it's reverted back to base instincts.
      In cases where a drone is shown to be exceptionally clever, it's usually because the drone is not just a drone, but actually a juvenile Queen (or a drone with the potential to morph into one. The Predalien from AvP2, for instance, is one such xenomorph. It's possible that the xenomorph from the first Alien is also one such, although its behaviour in Alien: Romulus makes me doubt that.) Queens are far more intelligent than drones, often said to be smarter than most humans in their own way.

    Love how this gives a unique spin on the original Alien movie. There isn't an apparent villain aboard, like an Android, who sold the crew out as test subjects for the xenomorph. I expected the AI to be behind it, that it was hiding something from her when it recited the cargo log for example, but when it complied with self-destruct, I realised it really just had no idea, and it must have been some third party that screwed these people over.
    It avoids openly naming a villain, which I think benefits this greatly.

    I remember a tutorial on making the ship from the intro!!! God, the 90s anime style is so on-spot in spite of being made digitally. It's just amazing. You just forget that it's 3D from time to time. Yeah, there are imperfections, but that's all was made by 1 person + VAs and sound designers, after all...

      I think its more inspired on 80s anime. That was the golden age of that type of anime (Macross, Robotech, Voltron, Space Adventure Cobra, Gundam and a very long etc.)
      This channel even posted a video on how to do this type of 80s inspired animation.
      Not saying that there isn't any 90s influence there, tho.

      @@Jedzelex Overall it's more 80's, but the character designs might lean more 90's with the larger eyes and pointed noses. They remind me of Yoshiaki Kawajiri's later work like Ninja Scroll. Although tbh there's not a huge difference between 80's and 90's anime aesthetic, lol.

      >.> Also yeah, it leans a little more towards late '80s aesthetics, but does have some overlap with the '90s.
