- Today we explore how much money you can make off of NPC's through the mail! I noticed that over time a lot of mail and gifts pile up, so I decide to try a few different heart levels with the town to see what I can get! This is the true value of friendship! Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always!

So having a ten heart max relationship with Pam gives you the chance to get an Energy Tonic, which is the ultimate recovery item (500 energy 200 health). The downside is you have to be friends with Pam so it’s obviously not worth the effort.
You can get it at 5 hearts, friends but not good friends, still disposable plus free beer.
Seriously? Parsnips are so cheap! Just give her those until she dies from drinking Parsnip Beer!

I only talked to Pam once I got the bus running. Just talked to her every day at the bus. She was easier to befriend than Linus.

This is rare? I got it pretty often in my game play... Or a fairy. Always thought they would actually show up then bit they jsut flew through that screen... 🙄 Fairy showed up 3 times but never when I saw her there before.

You were so right about coffee. I started with 5 beans, ended up before the end of the first month with a square of about 256 branches, and constantly have about 1200+ coffee beans in my inventory, despite constantly adding them to about (currently) 10 kegs to turn into coffee. I'm regularly cashing in 30,000 worth of coffee, and it's not even all of it. Plus I always have 20 or 30 on me to gift to others and run around fast.
It's SO broken. =P

Try making two barns of pigs happy. You will be drowning in truffles. You can make good money if this is the only thing you do. Seriously, this is BROKEN. Coffee is not even close to the value of Truffles and truffle oil.
I always plant beans in year 1, then stockpile them and get loads of money in year 2.
The best part of Pam's beer is that apparently she found it in a drawer. IN A DRAWER.

You need to be above 0 hearts for people to gift you, the more hearts you have, the more often they send you gifts.
Also, bachelors don't send you gifts (except Shane and Emily, who weren't bachelors in the vanilla version).

If you're actually doing this in a playthrough, one thing you can do is reset the day a bunch of times until the gift changes to something more valuable.

Who even delivers the mail and why? There's no mailman and everyone lives close together.
When does the mail get delivered? The latest you can stay awake for is 2am and you wake up at 6am, and everyone heads home at 12am the latest then their doors are locked until about 9am.
It's probably done by the junimos.

Hey DF theres this new mod that adds rival heart events into the game. I don't know if you still do mod videos but this one adds a lot of heart events and they're pretty entertaining
Can people stop saying "FIRST" or "EARLY", You aren't early, to be early you would have to see the video before its published anywhere, to be first you'd have to be the creator of the video, since the creator is the first person to see the video, making them first in general

Yes but what about the cost of friendship? So it takes 3.12 loved gifts for one heart. So figuring you need to earn 8 hearts and you get two hearts for their birthday gift that's ... 26 gifts to get anyone to 10 ten hearts. And if it's liked gifts it's 5.56 gifts for a heart and 50 gifts for 10 hearts (or 48 if you remember their birthday)
So the elephant in the room it is technically possible to get someone to ten hearts for the low price of 2,500 (or 2,400 g again if you remember their birthday) by just giving everyone apricots because they are universal like. However you do run into some problems in practice as it only produces in spring until you have a greenhouse and might need a lot of them if you trying to befriend a large amount of people. And to give 48 presents would take a year and half game time.
As for loved gifts, it can be just as low as apricots technically it's cheaper to give Vincent 26 grapes instead of 48 apricots because of the friendship boost. He can be befriended for as little as 1950 g. Linus is technically the same way with cactus fruit but only if you grow it on your farm instead of making a trip to the desert to forage them every time.
On the other side of things Alex can be super expensive if you gave him Complete Breakfast for his gift at 9100 plus the flowers to start dating him. Maru can be even worse with the battery packs 13000g. Girl bye.
In summary make friends cause you like them, achievements, or break their hearts cruelly on a TH-cam channel for views. But not for profit.
Something about Willy wanting to give you his rod and his wanting of a squid seems...off.
Should try the 10 heart gifts again but eat a Lucky Lunch each morning before you check the mail at the end of the season.

how the gifting system works is that at one heart you have a chance to get an item from npcs but the higher hearts you have the better chance you have to get the items i had shane at 1 heart and got a pizza from him

My one take away from this video is that I should befriend marnie cause I made the mistake of making my farm a river farm so there isn't a ton of are for grass so I have to constantly buy hay. Also of course the one datable npc I didnt befriend because they're too out of the way for me is the one that gives you battery packs
