I'm doing a chrome delete for the door trim next then tinting my window. This car looks completely different blacked out.

How long did you wait to take out the plastic bags from behind the grille after you plasti dipped the grille? I did mine today the same way and stuffed a bunch of plastic bags behind the grille but didn't want to remove them yet until the grille is totally dry...
wait so did paint get on the inside? like the engine and everything? or did you put a cover inside as well? also, how long do you wait in between sprays? like spray it once, wait 5 mins, then spray it again, 5 more mins, then again, etc. and how long did you wait after the last spray until you deemed it ready to go?
Very good to see someone doing plastidip work to ford grills! But wouldnt it be better if you had painted it ? Because grill has so much curve that it may become deformated from the curves easily
Çağatay Önel I Plasti Dipped it for easy removal just in case I wanted to sell my car or trade it in. Not every likes black grills 😊. It actually looks pretty smooth and didn't take away from the curves of the car because I added a gloss finish to it.

Been thinking of doing this to my Ingot Silver Fusion. Want to throw some black rims, dark tint and darken the grill. I think it would just look great. Your's looks awesome. How has the job stood up now that it's been a few months?
I've been using black rim caps that came with mine (17'' not the base 16'' with hubcaps, they're still aluminum wheels). But alternatively I'd like to eventually plastidip them too to get that metal shine instead of the finger printy plastic which has some scratches on it. Buying stock rims can be expensive, just dip them. I'm cringey about paying $700-$800 to upgrade to the 18'' and not have a proper spare. >_

Might be because I have a bit of a heavy foot and I haven't taken it to a mechanic since I left the lot. Might just be in my head, but I'd like to buy a product that will clean the fuel injectors. Started using premium because of the ecoboost but that Chevron with Techron fuel is expensive and probably doesn't work as advertised, might switch to a cheaper brand. I should really do some maintenance despite the 100 whatever point inspection the dealer claimed to do.
No they don’t. They’re all clips from the backside along with 5.5 mm bolts holding the assembly together. You could rip it apart (maybe), and damage everything. Just do it right and break everything down. Took me 6 hours and it looks professional. Good try though
I took my upper and lower grille out, broke down the upper grille (just plastic clips holding the chrome trim), wet sanded, and painted. Turned out professional, took maybe 6 hours. No offense but this is the “16 year old with a Honda Civic) way to do it.
If she had done that video, then she would have removed the front clip to paint. The headlights are best done with the clip removed and headlights disassembled
Bookie I didn't remove the grill, just simply used plastic bags to cover the radiator and plastic bags around the grill to prevent spray off on the car 😊

clutch2827 fusions have active shutters behind the grill no need to bag anything if there closed.

What's the easiest way to get the paper/plastic behind the grille to block off the radiator?
Morgan Monroe I used plastic grocery bags and slipped the. threw the grills then spread them out to cover the radiator. Used about 6-8 bags 😊

It looks good, but it’s easier to take the bumper off, but anywho how long does this last? How has this been on the car?

Do you know how hard it is go take fusion bumoers/grills off? There's like 200 screws! Not exaggerating.

How did you block the back so the dip didn't get on your radiator shutters? Mine stay open unless the car is on.

did you sand down the grill at all? if not, how has the paint been so far? any particular brand for the spray paint and the gloss?
It's Plasti dip. It's not paint. It's not permanent, you can peel off at anytime. No sanding required just clean the surface before applying

To protect the active shutters and radiator. If she hadn’t all that paint would be caked on the shutters and radiator and she’d be having a bad day

I had this car for about 6 years after this video was made and it looked great. It held up so well. No scratches or peeling what so ever.

Yes it can, but i blocked it with plastic bags before I sprayed :-)

alrightitsnighttonight 2 black cans and 1 glossifier. That's with me doing 5 black coats and 2 gloss coats
How as the plastidip held up long term?
Plastidip lasts a surprisingly long time. Especially on "low traffic" areas like the grill, where nothing really rubs on it or even touches it.

Fer Baraho No, why would it overheat? I painted the existing grill not the radiator. The radiator was protected by plastic while I painted it.
You should do video about changing light bulbs in headlights :)

CarsAtPortugal Wait a couples days before washing. It won't peel if you do enough coats. I did 5 black and 2 clear coats, total of 7 all together.
