  • The Castle brings some of the Best Bentonville MTB Trails in NWA. The Castle is a new feature of the famous Slaughter Pen Bike Park in Bentonville Arkansas.
The Castle features 7 descent trails from mild to wild! Three Green, two Blue, and two Black. These are short trails that are great to session!
We dropped off Armadillo's Last Stand onto All American, then made a right on the Access Road to get to Lombard the Green return trail that is 2,523 feet long (almost 1/2 mile) and has an elevation gain of 127 feet.
In this video, we detoured off Amarillo's Last Stand and made a right onto All American to drop to the Access Road to get to the trailhead of Lombard, the return trail to the Castle Hub.
You can easily get to the Castle Hub by parking on Northwest A Street and taking All American to the Access Road.

So where Would you consider the MTB capital of the world?
It would have to be Free, already have over 1,200 miles of Free to ride trails, be building about 8 miles more a month, have tons of bike shops, be ridable Year Round, be 100% E-bike friendly, have affordable places to stay with trails right out the front door and actually Welcome people from out of town.

Don't misunderstand my intentions... :) I moved across the United States to live and retire in NWA because of the mountain biking. You are absolutely CORRECT! I can't and will not argue that. NWA is leading the edge and tip of the spear in providing a mecca of riding for all ages and all skill levels within a concentrated arena.
The volume of trails here is insane and actually a part of community development! The mountain bike vibe here is one of my biggest draws here.
Take a trip out to St. George Utah, Moab Utah, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado and even California. Singletracks that drop 5,000 feet in 7 to 10 miles. All amazing stuff. Maybe you are right, maybe this is the MTB Capitol on the planet. There are concentrations of trails in other parts of the world as well. They all provide a stiff competition. But there is nothing like the combination in NWA.

@@mikewatson8776 Look, You stated pretty strongly that NWA was NOT the MTB capital of the world. I didn't say it was. You obviously feel pretty strongly that it isn't. I'm just wondering where you think it is. What are Your criteria? I've ridden in Moab and Park City and Trestle and Breckenridge and Sun Valley and Killington and Ashville, etc. All have great qualities and I'm sure lots of people would say that any one of these is the MTB cap. of the world...but they all have issues. Even the ubiquitous Whistler is only ridable a few months out of the year...and it ain't cheap when it Is open! I just got home from Colorado. Pretty lame. So many trails, so few open to EMTBs. Same with Utah. Same with Pisgah. Every place has an area where it lacks. NWA too (lack of elevation), but NWA took the initiative and "called it". They own it.

Picking a mountain bike capital of the world is totally subjective. If I were to choose a Mountain Bike Capital of the world I would choose Moab. I have ridden the Kokopelli trail at least 7 times, the Whole Enchilada, Captain Ahab, and dozens more. And then there is Sedona, have you ridden Sedona Arizona? I’m certainly not going to choose a location based on their acceptance of eBikes, and I am absolutely not going to get into a debate with you about eBikes.
Bentonville has self proclaimed itself as the Mountain Bike Capital of the world. What a fantastic war to wage to win that claim! As BKXC stated. When there is a war to claim the Mountain Bike Capital of the world title, the mountain bikers win!
      Bike on! 😏👍
