How many Green Stars did YOU think you could get before watching the video?

I thought around 300-320 because i knew that you can Progress without Power ups so i knew you'd make it to World flower but i didnt know that you still can get that many Stars im kinda impressed honestly

In nsmbu crown is a powerup
and they have the least amount of stars obtainable WITHOUT powerups..
crown is a power-up. It's what you get if you get the most points in multiplayer

You could have used Rosalina's Spin to make the 2nd green star in Star-6 easier, but great video otherwise.

I am aware of the immense amount of editing and scripting for videos of this nature but a minimum powerups run would introduce a new challenge (that being routing for the fire flower) but woulds also close the video with a grand finally (either crown-crown or crown-mystery house)

I tried this in one player mode and found that double cherry pass star coin three is possible using diagonal wall jumps

I actually attempted this and using Mario it’s possible to beat the main game. I might keep going on it even though there’s no real reason to
6:18 there is a way getting the star. When you use 2 player mode and let one go through the pipe, it actually destroys the spike, but also makes you small. After that, u have to use the other one and destroy the other spike, which allows u to get the star
That would not work as the spike as only destroyed if a power up is used

4:17 you can also just use the momentum from the slide to get it
this game is possible without
- taking damamge
- running
- damaging unnecessary enemies
- multiplayer
- special moves except wall jumps and crouching
- or power-ups
- this was done by both infinite bits and evenbreaksgames
- respect for you trying to get as much stars as possible tho, that was an insane amount

Nice video! 9-1 star 2 is actually possible itemless. You can clip through the wall and go to the cloud using a 2 player clip, skipping the torches.
Nice video! Btw, through a multiplayer glitch you can actually clip through walls, making 2-Castle Star 3, 3-5 Star 2, Star-1 Star 2, and Flower-7 Star 1 possible with some out of bounds movement. To execute this you want to place two players side by side facing a wall, touching each other essentially. With one player, you want to jump, dive so you bonk against the wall, and then mash Y as quickly as you can. The other player should clip through, it’s inconsistent though.

So, i have watched this video and its very entertaining, however i think you should change the title to: How many green stars can you get in super mario 3D world without a power up, or something like that, because if someone reads the title they are gonna be like: yes you can beat it without power ups, and just not click.
I did also the challenge even before and Mystery House Wall Climb was my favorite level with this challenge. It was close but I was so surprised that it's possible to collect all green stars without the catsuit and that's amazing. Cosmic Cannon Cluster was for me also the hardest challenge and I didn't even use Multiplayer mode or Peach. I used Rosalina and barely got to every switchbox. It was hard but I was so glad that I made it. This challenge was more fun than I expect. I also managed to collect all stamps and flagpoles. By the top of the flagpoles nearly everyone is reachable without powerups which also surprised me.
I have a suggestion: How many cat shines can you get in Bowser’s Fury without power ups.

the world bowser star house must have been so hard because you have to complete them all in succession to advance if i am correct
I gotta be honest I don’t consider the cannon box and light box or even the propeller and coin boxes to be power ups as they don’t change base

no you can't, you bounce off them and take damage.

The spikes cannot be destroyed without a fire flower or star

that'd be super short, since you can't make it past Chargin' Chuck Blockade (W1-A), if you use the warp pipe in W1-2, then you can get to W2, unfortunately, W2-A: Big Galoomba Blockade, is unbeatable without picking up coins or a fire flower.

How many stars do you need to get out of world flower
all 342 found in previous stages (World 1 to World Flower), along with all stamps and golden flagpoles.
In worlds 1 and 2 you forgot the blockades

The 9 You can't get and why are as follows:
#1: You get this one for beating every Captain Toad stage, since there is a Captain Toad stage in World Crown, this one is unobtainable.
#2: This one is found in the Stamp House in World Crown, again, unobtainable.
#3: Found in the final stage Champion's Road, the stage is in, you guessed it, World Crown.
#4: Found in the final Mystery House stage in World Crown.
#5-9: Found by beating every level as every character, since World Crown is blocked off (since you need all Green Stars, Stamps and Golden Flagpoles to unlock it), these are also unobtainable.

@@WeegeeDX Fun fact: I didn’t get any of these stamps in my *regular* playthrough (except for #2, of course) because of difficulty. On the other hand, I should have gotten #1, but I don’t for some reason …
Edit: I checked again and I do have stamp #1 for beating every Captain Toad level.

World 6 "Clear pipe cruse" for the first star.... can't you just damage boost through the bombs? It's been a while since I've played the game but I could have sworn I did that before.
Edit: If this is correct that would add 2 more stars to the total as there is also a star missed in World Castle for the same reason
