- We were amazed traveling to Japan's countryside! We decided to do something a little different and rented a car from Fukuoka to drive to the small town of Yanagawa, also known as the Venice of Kyushu. We were surprised that not many tourists visit this romantic little town as there's a lot to offer! Join us as we explore the canal city of Yanagawa by boat and try a 150 year-old recipe for grilled eel.

It is so cool to see Note driving in Japan. The food looks so good and well made. $27 USD for the food was a good price. Those hats are beautiful as well. Flora and Note I love this Japan series, and thank you both for bringing it to us.
We loved our tiny car! She was so fuel efficient and super comfy to sit in. Driving in Japan is quite relaxing.. we might plan another road trip next time :)

It was really nice to come to Kyushu after being in the busy cities. We wish we spent more time here but unfortunately our Japan series is coming to an end soon. One more episode to go next week 😉

We were surprised there isn't much street parking in Japan so most of the time you'll have to look for parking lots.

We didn't get to see much of the countryside when we were in Japan. Otaru was the closest we got to "small town vibes" in Japan. Yanagawa looks super nice. 😍
Also, we want that eel! Yummm.

Was laying down to watch your vid when news of 7.5 hit Mindinao, Philipines. Tsunami warnings are up for them expected to hit around mid nite. They stated that the wave is expected to hit Japan too. I was concerned so said prayers as I found you were there. Hope you’re safe and have shelter no matter what takes place. Love you guys want you’re safety health and joy!!! I feel that old Japanese people have their own unique dialect...so even if you can speak Japanese, I think most won't understand half of what they are saying and are just filling in the blanks.

Thanks for this amazing video. We’ll be taking the train to get to Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station and will walk to the boat station. We’re taking the one way boat ride & not the round trip one. How do we get back to Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station from the end of the boat ride? Do we take a bus or walk back to the station?
Sorry we're not sure about this. We drove there and parked in town so we've never been to the station. Maybe it's best to check some travel blogs to see how they did it. Good luck!
